I purchased a mini-poo last year from here. I got her at 9 weeks old. When she was about 3 months she got very sick and ended up having a blood transfusion. Our Vet said it was a genetic blood disorder and she probably wouldn't survive past 6 months old. She lasted a little over a year and then died from the disorder. Which we were told it's from the way she was bred. We paid $1,000.00 for her and they haven't offered to do anything about it. Be very cautious and aware. Make sure you get assured your pup is okay and take it to the vet ASAP and get an assessment. I miss my little mini-poo and it was something that could have been prevented if she had been bred properly.

Amazing store and employees, Richard, the owner, helped out my two dogs just after our home burned, and we lost everything but each other. I always say shop locally, and Pets Plus is just one of the reasons why. Thank you for helping family stay family.

If you see a Red head with a lot of piercings, or an older girthy lady just leave they are no help, and rude. The older lady walked away from me while I was talking to her, and the red head was just not trying to answer any questions about the dogs. I would have bought the Frenchy right away, but they refused to answer any questions about it. Bring back the family friendly pets plus please!!!!👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽

They sold my a rabbit that was sick. They did pay the vet bill but it was due to the poor condition they keep them. Also after the visit I found out she was pregnant when she started popping out babies I had no idea what was to be done. I called the manager and she made it seem as if they were at no fault and told me to Google. Wish I could give half of a star definitely don't deserve the whole one star.

The workers here are amazingly helpful. Gave 4 stars because they dont have turtle food nor do they seem to have live insects. Other than that service is always great and make sure you say hi to Dude and Buddy the shop cats. You'll find them just lounging around.

The puppies and kittens are kept in horrible disclosures. Very tiny cages with rods as the floor, like a bird cage. The animals have no blankets, food, or toys in there with them. The dogs look very depressed and miserable. I've never seen puppies look so unhappy. To say it's disturbing to see the cages they're forced to stay in is an understatement. Absolutely cruel living conditions for these puppies and cats. It's absurd. I will not shop here again.

My wife and I love Pets Plus, sometimes we'll just pop in for a little puppy therapy (Don't tell our Dog at home) or to pick up some toys or treats for said Dog. We started looking for a friend for him a few minutes months back so he wouldn't be as lonely when we are gone. The staff were so friendly and helpful even though it was busy when we were in there. We ended up getting this beautiful Heeler mix and you could tell they cared about her and they wanted to make sure we had everything we needed to make her comfortable. We will definitely be back to pick up more stuff for her, and I just hope I can keep my wife from getting a new dog for at least a little while!

This pet shop has pure bred puppies for over $1,000 and some mixed breeds as well cooped up in tiny cages with no food, bed, blankets, or water. They are sleeping together in one plastic Tupperware bin. This kind of thing disgusts me. Putting animals through harsh living conditions just to make a profit. Makes me sick.

I bought a black and white male Dutch rabbit from pets plus when i got home from Lubbock I noticed that the rabbit had a tilt head. That was on December17,2022. The rabbit was sick. I only paid $54.11 for the rabbit. The rabbit is still alive and will not eat. I didn't try to get my money back for the sick rabbit. I didn't figure they would refund my money. I live in Odessa. The breeder of this rabbit is Terresa I was told by the breeder. When I talked to her she said she sold rabbits to pets plus. And the employee said she bought rabbits from Terresa. Therefore, I am assuming the sick rabbit came from her rabbits. The rabbit is slowly dying from not eating and its sickness. I don't have the money to spend on a vet for a rabbit that cost only $54.11. So I will just take my loss and warn others to beware of purchasing a black Dutch rabbit from pets plus.

I love this place!!! The staff is great and is very knowledgeable. They have everything you need from the basics for cats and dogs to hamsters and rabbits all the way to the exotic all kinds of snakes! As a snake breeder I love to see what new reptiles they have. Their staff has helped me through a few bumps along the way! I buy my feeder rats and mice from them because they always have a great selection and are so much cheaper than the other exotic pet store in town! Pets plus is my pets store!! 💯❤️🐍❤️ 🐀

I used to enjoy coming here when I was younger, but now they will not even allow you to hold or play with a pet unless you are CERTAIN you are going to purchase it. I understand that many people come in just wanting to play with a pet with no intention of buying, but sometimes these dogs need some extra attention when they are sitting in a 3x3 cage with NO padding whatsoever so they’re feet fall through the holes. Also, I would never guarantee I was going to purchase an animal without holding it first and getting a feel for it’s personality. This is the only pet store in Lubbock that has puppies to purchase in store (that I am aware of) and it would be nice to be allowed to hold a dog even if I wasn’t 100% sure I was going to buy it. Plus, a lot of people fall in love with a puppy when they are playing with it and decide to buy it. I’m disappointed with this establishment.

I really enjoyed coming to this store to purchase dog supplies and look at the many puppies. Me and my husband had even thought of purchasing a puppy here. However, my last visit here they will refuse to let you physically hold or see a puppy unless you plan on buying it. I told the lady I wasn’t sure if I was going to buy because I’m looking for a connection with the dog not necessarily a pedigree. I’m not going to invest in a $1000 puppy if I don’t have a bond with it. We are not from Lubbock and live hours away, but we usually visit this store always looking out for our next fur baby to join our family. Now, I don't see myself purchasing our next family member from here and will stop our regular pet purchases from here.

My experience was horrible, will never go back I told her what animal I wanted and pointed it out.She kept trying to sell me something I didn’t wanted. I left and went to Walter's World of Pets and got the pet I wanted with no problem they Service was good I brought two pets.

Favorite pet store in Lubbock honestly they're down to earth and always do everything they can to help out with anything you need. I've gotten both snakes and tarantulas from them and absolutely love them all. I recommend going any given chance.

With out a doubt I think the people working here not only have good experience with animals and are knowledgeable about them, but the health and safety is shocking to me. The way the puppies and kittens are cared for is gross, I feel so heartbroken when I see a puppy stuck in that small metal cage for over a week. I’ve gotten a few pets from them before, and I never had a problem with them until more recently. I adopted a hamster, a rat, and a puppy.The hamster is over all in good health, he’s honestly the healthiest pet I’ve gotten from them. Although he is extremely skittish and doesn’t like being handled, I was told the opposite when I first got him.My rat was covered in mites and had a URI, even after quarantine and medications he still managed to get my whole mischief sick. The mites + the URI two of my rats died from complications and they had been extremely healthy before hand. I think worst of all was the puppy experience, their policy is that you have to take to the vet 5 days after purchasing for a wellness check. (They know %100 that symptoms of don’t show until 7-10 days). So after getting my puppy and receiving a clean bill of health, my puppy had parvo. $700 vet bill and three days in intensive care. The animals are sick and prone to genetic diseases, they’ll cost more than you’ll ever realize.

They are a nice down home store. Always fun to pet the animals they sell.As a more recent response. I wish they would go back to the feel they had in years past. The lack of helpful staff and a caring feel for the animals and products. I also wish they had the dog adoption days back.

I’ve gotten 2 puppies from here! Both are doing great and are super healthy!!! My first puppy was great and we had no issues what so ever and he is the best puppy! Our other dog had some fleas but she is well now! Both of my puppies are the most loving cuddly pups, you can tell they are very loved on here!

Great folks as usual, they always have what I need when it comes to my rabbits needs. They tend to have all the odds and ends for your pets that other pet stores don't carry and typically at a more reasonable price. Great staff, great products, and I love the store cats that mozy around. I highly recommend them for most your pet needs.

Bought a $1,300 puppy and when we brought her home we noticed she was scratching and scratching but we initially thought it was maybe the floor cleaner we used or our fragrance spray so we just kept an eye on her. Then during the night we noticed the scratching became worse so we check her skin and sure enough we noticed she had fleas. We took her a bath and combed her out and noticed a few fleas and eggs. We had only had the puppy maybe for about 12 hours when we noticed the fleas and eggs so she must have caught the fleas at the store. My wife called the store and the worker offered us a flea treatment but we had already took our pup to the vet and got her treated there. My advice, check your puppy thoroughly BEFORE you buy.

Small but very nice pet store, and always kind people. Home of the infamous Fluffy the snake who Is always so fun to go see. Always have a nice variety of ball pythons and tortoises. They know their stuff and are always happy to chat about your pet or let you spend some time in the petting room. It's no wonder this place is up and running so well.

Do NOT do business with these people. I feel sorry for all the animals. After losing our beloved baby, we brought two new puppies into our home with the hope of giving them a happy life. They both have parvo and one is fighting for her life currently. The vets they recommended were not available so they had to turn people away. We have been to both Animal Hospital of Lubbock (the best) and the emergency clinic. I went in to speak with the owner and while she was somewhat friendly, it felt like she accused me of not using their vet even AFTER I told her that they were not available. We have spent thousands of dollars on these babies to give them the best chance. I do not regret one cent I have spent to help them. Everything we bought had to be thrown out. I mentioned the cost to the owner and she just spoke over me. I would HATE, after all, for people to hear about your terrible business. Also, what sort of douches keep poor lemurs in their cages? Terrible.
