I bought 4 fish here on the Thursday the 28th and the first day I got the fish home and soon as I got home one was gone so I took it right back well here it is Monday and the fish that got replaced is now not with us anymore I’m not sure why they are not lasting all 4 came out the same tank and only 3 are still alive not sure why just one keep checking out🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

Best aquarium store in Lubbock. Helpful employees and a great selection of fish. The selection of aquarium products is pretty limited, but so is every other aquarium store in Lubbock. This one has the most though. Just one of the many joys of being an aquarium hobbyist in the middle of West Texas.

Not really worth it, got some fish from them, about two had die, tried to exchanged it with their refund policy, but they said everything from ammonia to nitrate was high, even though our at home test stated other wise, waste of money.... Also for home test I don't waste money on Api drip test I bought marine ammonia colorimeter HI784 and both the Ph HI780 and Ni HI782 and I'm running Fiji-12 Advanced Reef Sump - 2nd Gen in my 30 gal tank, with cleaning crews...

Bryce and his team help us with our Salt Water tank. I honestly didn't know much about them to get started. He has helped me, continues to teach me and we trust him to take care of our tank and provide us with recommendations on what we need to do or improve. Anytime we need fish or coral he brings them with him when he does our water changes to save us a trip to the store. They are very reasonable priced as another company was charging us double for water changes before we found Bryce.

I’ve shopped here for my saltwater needs for over 5 months now…each time the customer service has been great and I have been treated with respect and kindness. The prices are fair when comparing around so I will continue to shop here for my saltwater needs!

This place is pretty darn cool! I'm new to this hobby as an adult. Had an aquarium in my room and our living room growing up for a few years. This place has it all and the staff and owners with the knowledge. Biggest thing. The place is so cool! Excellent displays!

Very helpful knowledgeable workers. Healthy fish. My fish have had baby fish now and they buy my fish and take care of them well as they are rehomed. Helpful in resolving water problems with tank. So far i got a sparkling perfect tank eith babies. Thanks to american aquatics!!!

Really great fish, tanks, and the corals were awsome. The shop keep was rude though, really intrigued by a tank and custom filter system. When I tried to give a compliment and ask if they were built by the owner he replied "I don't know, thats how we bought it" then he just walked away. Have some pride in your job bud.

I love the support from the owners that you receive when shopping here. From basic questions about which fish would be best for first time fish owners, to tank sizes and accessories, as well as the care that will go into keeping them look clean and pretty..they have been patient taking their time to always make sure they understand our needs and make us feel confident in our choices! This is my favorite fish store I've ever been to! The staff is always so kind and helpful and I recently hired Bryce to do a house call and set up a new tank for me! He was nothing short of professional, friendly and patient! It made my stress level go way down not having to switch tanks by myself! Thanks for all your help, guys!

Super cool tanks. Excellent scenery. Great customer service. I was a little worried when I saw the guy mixing chemicals to test the salt water, but he assured me it is not as complicated as it looks.

Went to check out what tanks they sold. Was so very happy to see the bettas being kept in adequate conditions, not tiny cups like literally every other fish store I have visited. I saw one single dead fish that was being taken care of by some clean up crew fish and that was all. Pristine water conditions and very minimal overstocking of tanks if any at all. This is the most beautiful and ethical fish store Ive ever been to and would highly recommend over any other in Lubbock.

Very helpful! We set up our new tank and came to get some fishy friends. Wonderful selection. We did get some plants that had snails on them so that kinda sucked but I think we got them all out.

I had the pleasure of having Brice come and clean my 55 gallon fish tank. He cleaned it beautifully, and decorated my tank even better than Martha Stewart could. The best money I've spent in a while. Try these guys out. They're great!!!

I love shopping here for all my fishy needs. They offer a great selection of fish, coral and aquatic plants. The display tanks in the store are beautiful and always evolving. Their staff are engaging, friendly, professional, and willing to answer any questions I may have. Definitely my favorite Aquarium!

Refuse to help customers if they have colored hair / tattoos / if they don't like how you look. Horribly rude, useless lazy, seemingly mentally deficient/totally incompetent employees who just play on their phone or vape without asking if anyone needs help.Don't go here unless you wish to waste half an hour waiting for help only for it to not arrive, and for employees to be incredibly rude.

I love this locally owned business. The staff is always helpful and nice. It feels like family with the way they treat their customers. They usually have fish you cant find anywhere else in Lubbock and change it up a bit from time to time.

This is a great store! Brice, the owner works his tail off and is willing to do what he can to help every customer! All my local business will only go to Brice(American Aquatics). For those that might have a bad experience, let him or his wife Katy know and they would be happy to make it right! Great place with great owners!

We decided to see what kind of selection American Aquatics had since our daughter wanted some fish and I'm glad we did. My wife and daughter were the ones that mainly asked questions as I looked around and the guy was very knowledgeable and very friendly. They decided on a few different fish so now we have a fancy goldfish named Goldie and two fancy guppies named Sunfire & Pepper.🤣 Thanks so much American Aquatics!

Went in to buy some algae eaters and did the qr code to get a discount but felt rushed waiting for the code to be sent to me....someone else had just got in line behind me, its not like they were waiting 10 minutes. It seem more of an inconvenience, will not go back

We went there thinking it would be a fun and quick trip. It was quick, but there were so many dead fish. We literally watched some fish eat a fish that was dead at the top of the water. Plus, the smell of water hits you right as soon as you enter. I do NOT recommend getting fish or even looking at fish here.

Not proper acclimating instructions.Went to look and purchase some fancy tail goldfish. Was impressed with the cleanliness, quality, set up and selection.I will go back.However, I was not impressed with the lack in knowledge of properly acclimating fish in new tank/reservoir. Something of importance to be shared along with new purchases. When I asked, I was told just to float the bag for 15 minutes.That is only half of it. To achieve the best chances of your purchase surviving and thriving one must have proper instructions. I went online for the information.The purpose of acclimation is simple: the water that the fish or corals are packaged in has different temperature, pH, and salinity parameters than your aquarium. Fish, and especially invertebrates (including corals), are very sensitive to even minor changes in these parameters, so proper acclimation is the key to ensuring their successful relocation.After floating bag for 15 minutes, open the bag and fold it down about an inch 2 or 3 times, then add 1/2 cup water. After at least 4 minutes add another 1/2 cup water and continue this til the bag is full. Once full discard (not in the tank/reservoir) 1/2 the bag of water then adding another 1/2 cup of water every 4 minutes til bag is full again. Once full net the fish and place them in the aquarium/reservoir and discard the bag of water.This is one way to properly acclimate your purchase. The drip method is another.

They seem to still be getting their feet under them. I'm impressed at the effort they are making though. Great service. They seem to be knowledgeable. After a few more months of smoothing the edges off, you are going to see fine aquarium store.
