I really enjoyed shopping here. They have a very interesting collection of goods that you won't find in many of the larger brand-name stores. I am a huge supporter of small-owned businesses and love everything that this store offers. The cashiers are cute, too :)

I honestly believe this place is much better than Tractor Supply within Liberty Hill. They have an unbelievably large selection of products. If they do not have something you need, I would be extremely surprised. This place is well organized, well run and well managed. Hats off to the owners

I came in just now in need of a wall anchor. I had to go ask the front desk with a long line where to find them as there was no one in the aisles working. I located them and the one I needed had none in the bin. There was a multipack on a pegboard but these were locked down (EVERYTHING in this store has a theft deterrent tag on it). So back up to the front to ask someone to unlock it for me. Back to the aisle to meet the person who can unlock it. Nobody comes. Back to the front. Young lady follows me back to where the wall anchors are and unlocks it for me but will not hand me the anchors and says she will take them to the front for me. I get that theft can be a problem for small businesses but Winkley’s handling of this is highly inconvenient and offensive. I chose to leave without my wall anchors and will head to one of the other several stores in the near area that also sell hardware.

I have lived near the area for about 7 months. I have gone to the Liberty Hill TSC for most of my needs to date. Today I had a laundry list of pre-spring needs and had found this place online with great reviews. I’m all about supporting small business and want to whenever possible so I made the drive across the intersection to Winkley’s. Overall I liked the store. They have ALOT of things in a small space. Some of their prices weren’t very competitive but they are a local small business so I expected that they wouldn’t be.What turned me off the most is their baby chick policy. I had browsed their website and LOVE that they post their incoming chick inventory so you could try and plan. I am actually looking to get 5 spring chicks of certain breeds that they happened to have today from leftover deliveries. But the condition I saw some chicks in left me questioning if I ever come here again for my chicken needs. There were chicks from a delivery a week ago that had pasty butt as well as 2 that had something so wrong they were having their back ends pecked to the point of bleeding and malformation. I get it, it happens, but it is unacceptable to me that they do not have staff attentive enough to realize that there are chicks that are unhealthy enough to he removed or even culled. I hated watching the baby stammering in the enclosure with a backside torn up of its feathers. I would not buy any chicks from that enclosure. And unlike TSC, this place makes you fill out an “order form” and they go back and select what you get while you wait up front. No thank you. I want to have a say in how healthy the chicks I pay for look.I’m not writing Winkleys off but it was a pretty bad first impression as I explored the store. Don’t get me started on the 4 Tamuk bunnies crammed into a hutch not even suitable for 1 rabbit. I almost bought them all just to get them out of those conditions.

This place has the worst business practices I have ever seen. They just don’t care. Drive hours for a purchase and waited 3 hours to be loaded. Which never happened. This place should sell to someone that believes in taking care of customers. DON’T Waste your time here.

Very cool store. It has just about everything you can think of and then the things you don't think of too. Hunting , fishing and hardware. It is like a man cave without beer. Every time me and my son pass he wants to stop. The staff is always supper helpful and friendly

Extremely disappointed in their customer service! My husband owns a construction business, and stops by here pretty often for supplies for his metal covers & other misc items.. Well about a month ago he purchased a Rifle BB gun then asked me to return it. He gave me the 26 day old receipt & sent me up there about 40 minutes away from where we live; The lady behind the counter didn’t acknowledge me when I walked in, & even though she was on the phone she could have smiled or said “just a minute”.. About 5mins later & 3 people lined up behind me she finally saw I needed to return an item. When she asked me if anything was wrong with it I said I wasn’t sure. She told me she had to have the people in the back room look up my return; Another 5mins later Maria (I believe was her name) came to tell me she could not return the BB gun because it was almost 30 days old, & because she told the vendor there was nothing wrong with it.. I called my husband to let him know they’re denying returning this $220+ item, he informed Maria & I on speaker phone that it is faulty (the CO2 leaks no matter how tight it’s put in). Well Maria argued saying that it was “too close to the 30 day return period” (we still had 4 days left), & that since I said I didn’t know if anything was wrong with it then she wasn’t going to return it. I asked her why it matters that I didn’t know whether it had problems, or not as the “middle man” returning it in which she couldn’t give me a reason. In fact she told me I should try to sell it online or call the vendor... I asked to speak with the manager, & unfortunately she is apparently the owner!! My husband asked her “So you’re really willing to lose the thousands of dollars I spend here with my business over this item that I was originally told I could return no matter what before I bought it??” in which Maria responded “Of course!” Absolutely horrible customer service, owner argues with customers, made me feel like a criminal for wanting to get our hard earned money back from purchasing their faulty item, did not care to help us in any way. Would’ve given 0 stars if it were an option!

I used to love Winkley's, and still *want* to, but those little security tags on *everything* added to the huge crowds on the weekends just make it so that I don't have enough time to shop here. The worst are the security devices that keep me from pulling something off of the rack/shelf without flagging down an employee....good luck doing that on a Saturday. I get it, small valuable things have a tendency to walk off, but it just seems that some of these things are less than $5. Bottom line, I want to shop here again, but the last 3 times I went in one or more items were locked on the shelf, I couldn't flag down an employee, so I couldn't join the line that wrapped around the counter. I'm glad Winkley's is doing lots of business...just wish I could get the things I needed there too!

Locally owned store, with all the smells and sights of a well stocked hardware and coop store. They might actually have a little of EVERYTHING here, except for metric hardware, and they have saved me more than a few trips to the big box stores. The PVC pipe fitting selection is the most complete I have seen in one store, stocking fittings the big box stores do not have. If you are new to Liberty Hill, you owe it to yourself to take a trip through this store and browse around, you will likely be surprised on what you find in here.

I walked into this store no having any idea what I was doing. And it showed. The store was about to close in 5 minutes, and still the man behind the counter took all the time that was needed to help make sure I got the right thing. (I was picking up some chicken feed for a friend - but do not know anything about it). I was impressed with how much variety of things they had, but I was way more impressed with the service and that I did not get rushed out the door.

Surprisingly wide selection for small store. You can get anything from metal decorations to live baby chickens here. This place has saved my butt several times when I've been on a job site and needed an oddball piece of PVC plumbing or hardware. I'm pretty sure you could build most of a house and feed your animals with what they have here. Staff is excellent and the baby chickens as extras at the register put this place over the top. Even if you're passing through Texas and just want to get the true Texas experience, check this place out and get some local beef jerky on your way out, and maybe a chicken if you can swing it!!!

What doesn’t this place have? Especially if you’re not wanting to drive all the way into town to Lowe’s or Home Depot, this is my go to spot for feed and hardware and anything else I might need around the house. I’ve been really impressed with the quality of the alfalfa and feed I’ve received. It tells me that they are rotating their stock correctly so we as customers don’t end up with moldy feed! The employees are all extremely helpful and knowledgeable. It’s basically the Chick-fil-a of feed stores really and has been a blessing since moving to the area. And the fact they are open on Sundays!! OMG life saver, because you always run out of feed on Sunday and most small town feed stores are closed. But not Winkley’s!

Some of the poorest customer service I've seen. Employees don't seem to communicate or know what's going on and rude on top of that. If you say you can cut PVC pipe, perhaps the cashier would be aware of that also. If employees would greet customers, that would be nice too.

I recommend my mom looking at Winkley's for a birdbath on Mar 28th, she was pleasantly surprised of the choices. She came home very happy with the service. She is planning on going back today to look for other supplies she needs. Thank you Winkley's for always having what I need.

Live in Cedar Park TX. My AC blower unit (attic) went out and figured out pretty quick the motor run capacitor was bad. Spent a couple of hours searching for replacement in Austin, Cedar Park, and Leander - everyplace that would or might have the replacement was closed on Sunday. A fried suggested Winkley's in Liberty Hill. Called them - and got put on hold forever, to the point that while waiting on the phone I'd just head in that direction from Cedar Park. By the time the lady got back on the phone and confirmed she had in hand what I needed, I was already turning west off of 183N onto 29. Got there - asked for the item and was absolutely floored by the price tag!More than 7X (yes - I wrote 7X, as in seven times) what other retailers carry it for. Wow. Another person in the store overheard what I was buying and followed me out asking what I paid, and he was shocked. Turns out he's a HVAC repair tech and offered to sell me what I need for what would be normal market pricing and I could return the item I just purchased. Appreciated the offer, but decided to reward the retailer for having what I needed when I needed it.Moral of the story - Winkley's is that cool local place that does a good job of merchandising, and they're open on Sunday, but be warned - bring the bank with you.

Is there a way to give a zero? Yep, I'm still upset. I have a busy day calling the BBB and TX F & W. This ought to be great! I should just be running my business and taking care of my customers and my employees today. I talked to some of my veteran employees whom are hunters/fishermen. Yes, they laughed for a minute. Asking why would I need a combo license? So, my plan of telling everyone I know about the lack of integrity of Winkley's has been initiated! I think I'm up to 20 now and it's only 730 am. I will let you know more soon. This would of been a lot easier if "said" owner would of decided to have a discussion about the issue and possibly helping a customer who helps him pay his bills, taxes, salaries, pay rent, buy product and so on. The customer service at Winkley's is incredible. I was having some car trouble When I walked up and Bane was working hard loading a truck up with feed Yes when he's not breathing out of a crab and trying to blow up Gotham City he loads grain for fun. I walked up and asked if I could possibly get some assistance with my vehicle and to my surprise he jumped up eagerly and replied yes jason can help. As we went to get jason I was thinking oh this must be where all the DC villains go on their off season. Jason came out wearing what can only be described as Winter attire in a 102ﾟTexas heat he introduced himself and fixed me right on up and had me on my way. These men went above and beyond my expectations. You don't find very many people like Bane and Jason anymore. Thanks guys and God bless y'all.

Great little store! Helpful, friendly staff! I definitely will be using this store rather than the "other" hardware store across the street from here on out!!! These guys are knowledgeable and go above and beyond!!!
