I bought some paint there and when it was mixed and put on the card it looked the right color but when I put it on the wall it was at least 4 shades darker. Itook it back the next day and refused to exchange it for a correct color. I ended up having to buy another can of paint and a can of primer to cover the mistake. I wouldn't have purchased anything else there but I needed to get the job done. The workers were so snotty and rude I will Never purchase anything from Sutherland again.

Shopping for planking kit and we found it here, Thanks to the vendor notifying us Sutherlands carries it. We were happy to find what we needed here after driving an 1 hour. Great staff very courteous and friendly. Thank you and keep up the great work we will definitely be returning for more.

Purchased a Chainsaw that did NOT work, right out of the box. They would not take it back. They said, I had to take to a Shop and have them fix it. So now, I'm out the money of the saw, the fuel I purchased, the oil I purchased, a spark plug I purchased in case that's what was wrong with it and now they want me to PAY to get it fixed!!! What a scam! Should they not have a notice that say, not returnable? If they had had a sign, I never would have taken the chance and purchased it. I'm out $300+ and I have no Chainsaw. Shame on them, they know they can return to their Dealer, what is the customer suppose to do with no option but to fork out more money?? Never shopping at their store again!

I don't normally say anything about a shopping experience, or dining experience for that matter that is negative, but I have to say that this is the worst store where I have ever shopped. I could appreciate a store where the staff is knowledgeable but slow, because I shop at many smaller hardware places, but this was not good on any account. With all 4 employees cleaning up a small spill (well, 1 cleaned, one kind of cleaned, and 2 watched), with a line backing up, after being misdirected twice to what I was searching for, and being charged full price for lumber in the cut bin, I won't be shopping here anymore.

Bought a lot of building supplies and the folks at this store have always been very helpful. They have knowledgeable folks that can assist with advice on your building projects. Need to return products bought that you didn't need or did not fit they take them back.

Never busy and for a small town hardware store prices are not that much higher and lower on some items compared to the Big Box stores.

I live in San Antonio and was in search for a particular Pavestone retaining wall container block.I worked with store manager, Steve, and he was extremely helpful in confirming this was the block I was seeking.Just to be sure, I traveled to La Grange. It was exactly the Pavestone I was looking for. I purchased and made arrangements for delivery to San Antonio.On the day of delivery, I received confirmation from Steve that delivery was ready. They arrived within the window and were helpful in unloading.Overall, a great experience! Very happy!!KTW

Ask about delivery before you make or plan to make a purchase. I am a previous customer and have had my items delivered. However on this (almost) purchase at time for paying were were told "cash and carry' since the items were on sale. Since delivery is a separate charge I don't know why they refused to offer the service. Website states delivery available and the ad for the 'sale" does not state "cash and carry". Very disappointed in the customer service.

I recently bought a fair amount of cedar wood from them and i got around today price checking the same lumber around. They are about 30% more expensive on this item than surrounding retailers though many of their lumber items are inline with expectations. I confirmed that the price they have listed is accurate. Careful!

They are close to my house, I usually start there before a 40 mile drive. Not as big a a Home Depot, their prices are good as is their service. The staff is very helpful.

Sutherland Lumber Co is a wonderful place to buy quality building materials and supplies. Their prices are better overall than any other home improvement center within a 75 mile radius of our home. The company has been around for many years and the staff is friendly and helpful. Thanks Sutherlands!
