Always great deals to be found here! Large resale store, very nice volunteers, but be aware they only take CASH OR CHECKS, So come prepared with a checkbook or hit the ATM before you go!

Mom needed some shorts. We went here, looked through all they had and she walked out with a few pairs. This place takes donations of clothes and furniture and all kinds of things. They sell it for cash only and return the money to the community through many donations made thoughout the year. You can find ALL KINDS of things here from people donating. As far as i know, volunteers work the place , so your money goes back into the town and other places. No one is paid for working here. Very busy but very good for finding stuff and some interesting stuff sometimes. All of it is pretty good to great condition.

Someone had wrote that their prices have gone up; that may be true. But they also just donated 28,000 dollars to the Flatonia Area Food Pantry and they did the same with all the other locals Food Pantries as well.

You need to update your website - we just drove 40 miles- its 3:48 pm on Thursday. A lady waz locking the gate & wouldnt take our donation. Your website says 4:30pm. Monday thru Friday. Not at all happy@

I'm so glad to have stumbled across this place after moving here. We love coming here! Great prices & great finds! Lots of vintage & antique finds, which are my favorite. The volunteers are SO FRIENDLY.

Love finding deals for the kids in clothing, and old, unique furniture, and sometimes sports equipment for the kids. The new facility is definitely a blessing! Fridays can be crazy, so I usually stick to Saturdays, knowing that some of the best things may have been purchased already. But I don't do lines and crowds. Saturday afternoon is the least crowded time to go. Friday mornings are crowded.

Fair warning: no working restrooms, no fitting rooms, no mirrors & despite it being 2020 it’s still cash or check only . The old place at least had mirrors at the end of the aisles.I usually don’t write bad reviews because I usually try to see the good in the worst of situations but the final straw on top of a “fantastic” shopping experience were the rude workers. And to be fair half of the workers were super nice and helpful. But it was like flipping a coin whether you’d get a nice one or a rude one. Talked to 4 workers and 2 of them were super nice & 2 were rude. Not my idea of a good time having to guess who’s going to be nice. Used to come here every Friday but moving to a different place seems to have changed everything good about this place like customer service and prices.For example: I was excited to find a pair of boots same brand and size as last time but in a different color. But when I saw the price my excitement evaporated. Paid $5 last time, this time they wanted $50. I’d rather drive an hour into Austin & make a day of it for better prices & better customer service at Thriftland. I guess nothing great lasts forever.

This is a great place to find bargains on a wide variety of resale merchandise. In addition to a huge selection of good clothing for all ages, there are aisles of home goods, toys, tools and furniture. They are located in a very large new building with adequate parking. They have some of the lowest prices that I have seen, and the operation is a non-profit run by a group of local churches. The store is open on Friday and Saturday, and we drop in almost every week.

I've shopped with them over time and three locations. After hurricane Harvy prices seems to be quite a bit higher. They are a not for profit, that donates to our local charities. Most employees are volunteers so when you visit be nice.

The best place to find wonderful, inexpensive things in a clean, safe location! All money goes back into our County, too---like providing scholarships and doing important work. It is my go-to place for giving donations as well as exploring the great variety of new things for sale every week!

We have been going to second chance ever since and they always have been super good about everything... but today they definitely over charged us and I know no one is perfect.Tax is only 8.25% and we bought $30 worth... and paid $42. So make sure you do the math before checking out!

The sales people make it a nice place. They will help you find something if looking for a particular item. Only open on Fri/Sat mornings/afternoons. Mostly good priced. One advise through, watch out for the pick-pockets, they will get in your way to set you up in the aisles, or follow and bump behind you to steal out your purse or wallet. The store seems to run out of stuff by morning, I usually arrive after about 1:30 pm.... GrandMa Donna Apnga

So Sad that we lost a Christian place to shop for just about anything! Many of us will be pleased when it is Rebuilt! I miss the Ladies that work there & their help & kindness! Customers PLSE be cautious if you purchase Many items. Request a receipt to the cashier bef you get started and make sure they are writing down your items, prices, subtotal, tax and total on a sep piece of paper AS they are adding up items on the register. You will NOT automatically be given a receipt if not requesting one. It's only upon request and Handwritten. I purchased a multitude of items by cash. There were two ladies. One was looking at items and giving prices by mouth to the cashier who punched in the prices on the register. When everything was bagged and rdy to go, I asked for my receipt. She looks at me and says, "Oh, well, we can give you a handwritten one." I said, "..but I didn't see you write down anything. You mean you'd hv to start from the beginning and write down everything?" She nods her head, "yes." My husb just looks at me, shaking his head from side to side, and said "let's go." We left w/o ever knowing what I was charged and whether or not overcharged. I shouldn't hv to ask for a receipt, ladies. Volunteer or not, this is still a place of business that charges a state sales tax and open for business ev wknd. Your prices hv gone up on shoes, pictures, clothing. Don't know why you guys don't stay open 'til 5pm, not 3.

Good people selling good stuff to do good things. Very popular at opening time on Fridays. Expect to be in line at least 30 minutes early, rain or shine for the best chance at finding the choice items.

Rude workers, restrooms magically did not work, got attitude when I asked about them.Wasn't allowed to bring my little 4lb dog in even if it was in my and the whole time. Was asked to leave with the dog and got interrogated on why I was moving away from the exit, it was too get my keys from my wife so I can put the dog away! Two of them followed me to make sure I left with the dog. There is a nice way to tell people, how they told me was condensing, rude.Not coming back.

Horrible experience. They had an armed security guard refuse us entry because I have a medical condition they "would not accommodate". And they also refused to allow our children to shop with a parent. I've NEVER been treated so badly before in my life. If I could give 0stars I would.

Theres always something different everytime u go. Great deals on everything. And your support of shopping helps your community. I was recipient of their help some years ago when i couldnt afford my prescriptions aftr having to go to emergency rm. I was so grateful, and so i shop there all the time ever since. I have furniture, clothes, books, craft supplies, steam vac, cooking supplies, all for prices way below even other resale shops. Love it and cant wait to find my next treasure.♡♡Im not sure, but i believe the floods have taken the emporium down. Massive damage , not sure if they will recover. Im so sad, i love this place, they do such good work for the community

Literally just walked put of this bussiness pregnant and livid. After shopping with my husband and 15 month old child (in his compact umbrella stroller) for almost 30 mins. Handsfull of items we were wanting to purchase and the very rude rent a cop taps my husband on the shoulder and says we arent aloud to have strollers in the building. No where at the entrance was there a sign posted and again we had already been in there for almost 30 mins shopping with said stroller and spoke to atleast 4 employees/volunteers and this rude "security officer" has something to say... This bussiness will never get my money again and you'd be smart to stay the heck away.
