Yesterday my boyfriend and I went in to grab snacks. We were browsing the makeup isle and casually talking when this worker rudely said “can I help yall find something” I said no thank you and went back to shopping. She continued to follow only me around the store and keep making faces and staring at me. I assume accusing me of stealing. Not only did it make me uncomfortable but my boyfriend asked to leave. I may also assume the way I was being treated was racially motivated, my bf is white and she didn’t give him a second look. I go in this store a lot since I’m local and it’s always the same couple of women treating me like I’m a thief. We quickly checked out and left, I was genuinely scared she was going to call the cops on us. Living in a majority white town will always bring racists, but this was uncalled for. Can I not do normal things without being accused of stealing?

It won't allow me to give half a star, so I will give one. When something happens once or maybe even twice, I consider that a fluke and don't really expect it to happen again, but it has over and over again and I'm fed up. When a sign on the shelf under the item says __price, (and I've checked the UPC code and description from the actual label), I expect to get that price...but that's not what occurs on Saturday mornings when Vicky is working. I watch the register price being rung up closely because I have routinely been overcharged for 'sale' items.And when the cashier asks for her to come fix the mistake she argues about the price and makes the situation so hostile that you just want to get your things and get out because of the long line behind you. She had 4 employees there this morning and only 1 cashier and a line of customers...Someone needs to teach her what sale prices are and how to treat customers. And when someone buys something that is HALF OFF of $25.00 the price isn't $15.00. I don't know what kind of fuzzy math' that is, but it doesn't add up... Make the drive into Denton and lessen the stress (and abuse), trust me you'll be better off.

First and last time I will be coming here. Both the cashier and manager were rude. Cashier seemed like she was having a bad morning and didn't want to communicate. Manager acted like she didn't care that the Cashier was rude when I brought it to her attention.

Every time you go in this place it's so crowded with carts you can't shop the aisles there's 2 women workers that are so rude unless your a friend of theirs. Also I've stood in line and watched the manager and many workers just ask for the customers date of birth for alcohol or tobacco but the 1 time I didn't have mine on me she wanted to see my ID again I guess if your friends with them then you can get away with not showing your ID this place is a joke.

I had stopped in the Dolkar store in Krum on 4/27/2020, to get a few things, I always have very friendly customer service, except yesterday, it was around 2:30 or 3pm, The young lady was tall, wore glasses, and hair was in pony tail. She was very rude, did not speak at all, I had a candle she didn’t even wrap, and when I left, she didn’t make sure I had all my bags like most good cashiers do! Friendly customer service goes along way in these trying times, well she was a dark, gray cloud for sure! All the other ladies have always been super sweet! But this one needed a slap on the head!

It doesn't exactly seem the cleanest, and the employees aren't always very kind, depending on who it is, but overall, I like this store. Easy to navigate for the most part, and the cashiers are usually respectable.

Well stocked store. Lots of stock waiting to be put away in aisles most days. This store seems to have slightly friendlier employees than Ponder store and its open an hour later. However Ponder store had the upgrade to have a lot more refrigerated and frozen food, so I shop at both. Hope they always stay open till eleven because I work until 9 or 10pm occasionally.

Never stocked, cant go down the ailes because of carts loaded with stuff they haven't stocked! Usually only one cashier. Long lines to be expected at prime time 5-6 pm. Or cant find anyone in front in the mornings. If your in a hurry dont stop here

My review mainly covers employees because often they are forgotten until something bad. We tend to forget to leave positive notes for those in customer service positions. So here is a kudos for the team at the McCart Dollar General including some who have already come and gone within the last year (I am behind on reviews lol) Fast and friendly service. All employees have been pleasant to do business with. When the customer lines start growing they immediately knock them down. Nobody ever hesitates helping others out at the registers, including the management. Just hard workers in general that are always happy to assist in whatever you might be in search of. Good work flow and everybody seems to work well together! A+ to yall!

Went today to grab a few things for the family, and I felt like I was being judged left and right by every employee there because I of how I look. Never had a problem before today but I can safely say, I will never go to this store again. Utter garbage.

Literally 45 mins to buy one item today. There was one employee in the entire store, and he was checking people out and so worried about filling up freaking birthday balloons. This company sucks.

Went here for the first time today. We moved and I can't find the nail polish remover. They had it! And the clerk was very friendly. Small town life is great!

Horrible service. Main cashier there always has attitude. I always seem to run into her and she never hands me the receipt or says have a good one. Noticed she only strikes up a convo or just acts nice to older women or gentlemen but never the semi younger crowd like she looks down on them or however. But you can tell. Then doesnt even turn the grocery bag station to your direction i have to usually reach across or spin it myself then ask for my receipt.she has thrown it away and stated she couldn't reprint.i asked for my receipt she had to reach in her garbage bc she didnt want to hit reprint button.

Would give negative stars if I can, quite sad and funny at the same time really since it's the 21st century and acts like this is still happening. I was born and raised up here in Denton and Krum but this is the first time that I was asked in front of MANY people, to leave my backpack at the door NOT even behind the register which is weird because this is the first time I was ever asked to do something like this at a grocery store. Mind you if there was a sign that said “Leave all your belongings at the door” then I wouldn’t react this strongly but there wasn’t and also there were several people that came in after me with big purses and apparently it was okay for them? Thank you for this great encounter Mrs. Blonde Hair, Middle-aged, Bigger, cashier. You can bet your bottom dollar that I will NEVER be back again and also I know this is one of the two "grocery store" in town but I will recommend EVERYONE to go to the other one. I wouldn't have written a review if this is just a random Dollar General but this is the same one that I've been to for the past 6 years and it's sad.

Dollar General store managers do not order items for their stores. The company just sends merchandise. This store receives more than it can store and get onto the floor. There are always loads of boxes in every isle because their storeroom is filled. The employees have no room to work. Merchandise on shelves is hidden from customers and customers cannot get what they want because they can't get to it. It is very difficult to shop this store in Sanger, Texas.

They need more employees working at once. Shelves are bare but there's lots of unpacked boxes waiting to be shelved but there's only 2 employees in the whole store and they can barely keep up with the check out line.

Check out is fast an convinant, and it has all necessary supplies for a cook out or even just a nice dinner. Also its full of electronics, accessories, ect needed for everyday. I love the dollar General.

The stores never stock items. You can't even get through isles because there is so much unstocked items in the way. I did an order on app, said item was in stock and it wasn't. This store and all Denton county is a joke.

Most of there prices are wrong, and by that I mean it might say 2.25 on the shelf but when you check out it will ring up 3.90. which I don't mind to pay it but if that's what it says that's what you should pay.

Everyone here is pretty nice. They have basically anything and everything you need. I always buy more than i expect because it's so much stuff in a small space but its so cheap its ok.

Dollar General in Krum is a quick way to buy items without the hassle of going to the major chain store in Denton. The service is always friendly. Sometimes lines have wait periods due to the increasing number if residents in Krum. Definitely recommend.

The clerks are always friendly, I just feel sorry for them working in a store overflowing with too much merchandise to where it's difficult -- okay, make that damnnear impossible! -- to get through the aisles. Popular items are frequently sold out, realize there's only so much Captain Crunch they can haul into a town with no big chain grocery store. It's true to regional Dollar General fare (if you've seen one...): cheap, all-carbs snacks; canned comfort food; beer and wine that you won't find on a Michelin restaurant's list; cigarettes; seasonal candy and decor; and interesting Mexican food items like marzipan and tamarind candies that I still haven't worked up enough nerve to try. Until the metropolis of Krum lures a retail chain in for groceries, we'll continue to squeeze through aisles where carts full of stock waits for the next round of hungry Krumizens to empty the shelves of Little Debbies.

Terrible service went in stood for 5 minutes to check out then the lady came to me started checking me out. Broke the cash register said move over here then commenced to checking out other customers that came behind me. Oblivious and just bad service

Great local supplies for the Krum area and saves me a 12 mile drive for minor groceries. Love Dollar General and Uber Eats. Best thing that has ever come to Krum.

Love the upgrade that they gave us at the Ponder Texas store. Love having fresh fruit and vegetables and lots more frozen foods to choose from!
