People are nice!!! Local high school kids working hard for an honest living. Love the new closing door coolers in the back of the store for deli meats, cheeses, etc.Easy in, easy out. Lunch counter has best fried chicken around! Better than Popeye’s bc it’s real like Momma’s.

My chicken friend steak sandwich was undercooked and gross, didn’t finish it. Fries even were gross frozen fries. Disgusting looking food up front in the heaters that sits their for lord knows how long. This used to be a good place to buy lunch at one time but looks to have gone down hill. Sweet old lady up front was friendly, whoever cooked it though completely dropped the ball.Edit: I forgot to add there was literally one cash register open at the front and i was expected to wait in line behind ladies with full carts for about 15 minutes to buy my milk and water. Don’t go here if you value your time or your money, as it’s extremely expensive too.

Good grocery store! Lots of fresh vegetables land fruit! Good variety of frozen food entries la variety of beer and wines ! They run a hot food counter also when which has fried chicken to mashed potatoes and grave along with a variety of other dishes choose from!!

The food was pretty good I asked the daily help how long the food have been sitting out mess it all day except for the fried chicken. That concerns me a little bit but is again I went on and ordered it was okay but I would say the service was better than the food.

I shop at the Brookshires in Kountze. You can't get a more helpful staff then at this location. They have a very clean store and the produce department is great . Thomas Cryer is the store manager but you would never know it. You might find him sticking shelves and getting in shopping carts . It's just a great place to support .

It is a fairly well stocked grocery store with a deli that has hot plate meals along with a sit down dining room. There is a small Bakery where you can order simple cakes or large cookies for birthdays. This store also has small pharmacy and a gas station.

Convenient, local, establishment that's been a grocery provider for my family as far back as I can remember. Local employee that have been there and know who you are and are willing to make your shopping trip a successful one bye keeping stock of items they know are popular to the area. The bakery and employee there work hard to keep fresh and variety of bread , cakes , pies ECT.

Brookshire is old school. Been around a long time like me. I like the store it was well stocked. The meat looked fresh I don't buy it but it looked good. It is the only store that has the Chow Chow my husband loves.

It was very well cleaned and stocked. I would shop there more if they were a bit lower in prices. But Walmart totally beats their prices especially on their pet food. But in a bind I will always like them. They do have a home in Texas.

Standard small town grocery store. Not impressed but what is to be expected, some of their meats looked old kind of like when someone puts fresh blood on old meat. But I could have been mistaken. Prices where high like to be eclectic when competition is a 20 minute drive.

Its a great place to shop during pandemic because not very many people are ever here. The reason it has hardly anyone is because the prices are super expensive compared to heb and Walmart for the same brands. Overall it is just ok I just can't get over the prices over there items.

First the good. Best meat market in town. Produce section good. Eggs last week were old. Out of Pillsbury pie crust the last 3 times I was in there. I go to Brookshire Brothers for convenience even though they are higher than anyone in town but if I have to go cross town to get piecrust what is the point. When I brought it to management attention he said it was on sale at 2 for 5 and sold out. Well HEB every day is 2 for 5 and I bought 6 boxes and it didnt even dent the shelf. I spent 200 at the competition because of my perceived disinterest.

Main reason I go to the Kountze,Texas Brookshire Brothers is the pharmacy Kenny is one of if not the best pharmacist on this side of Texas and Miss Wanda is a great lady too by the way she is my aunt's sister and all the other workers are really attentive to and friendly they run a tight ship at the pharmacy no doubt about it anything me or my wife needs help with Kenny or the other ladies or on top of it just ask and they will be more than glad to help you in any way they can try them out to the best pharmacy around hands down

I'm amazed that this store is allowed to even stay open. Often the fruits are overripe, as in rotted. Often shelf products are expired. On top of that it's overpriced on everything that isn't on sale. They have a locked in customer base so it must be that they just don't care. They have a Kountze attitude of everything's fine. So very sad.

Cashier rang up $240 worth of gas at $2.74lb? Yes by the pound. Lol I grabbed seasoned saltine crackers from the clearance basket which were 2 boxes rubber banded together (the basket was full of them all banded in packs of 2). She pulled them apart and tried to charge full price on both expired items $7 for saltiness. Lol. I got to my car and realized they charged me $6.50 for 1 pound of ground beef. I got a refund then went to the meat which was clearly marked $4lb for ground angus. This store is a scam and I will never shop there again. Dollar general is cheaper which says a lot.

Let me start by saying the store was clean and the people were nice. I got some biscuits and gravy from the deli and it was ok. Not great but edible. My wife who isn't much of a breakfast person opted to get a turkey and cheddar lunchable. Upon returning to our hotel, another story from Kountze, my wife opens the lunchable and says this doesn't look right. And it wasn't, it had been out of date 4 days. Typically we would have returned to the store and addressed the issue, but upon leaving the store she had put the receipt in the garbage. The sad part is my wife had read some reviews about expired food, but said accidents happen. Perhaps we should have heeded the warnings. With that being said, I would like to say Caitlyn the cashier was very pleasant.

This is the small town version of the Brookshire Brothers chain. They have all the basics, a good meat selection and a nice deli serving popular Southern style entrees and sides. Friendly staff. Shopping weekly specials helps stretch your budget.

Best lunch in town for the price hands down...I usually spit at the Silsbee store because I live there, however I had to go by the court house and also needed to pick up a couple items for dinner. I came in and decided on a lunch plate while there, I chose what I belive to be (the young man wasn't sure) Chicken or Turkey Tetrazzini Spanish rice and black eye peas, a Hawaiian roll (choose between Hawaiian roll or corn bread) a piece of the big red soda cake I got and a glass of their sweet tea....mhmm mhmm good is all I can say. Different lunch specials everyday, fish on Fridays also. They have the best bread pudding or if they have it (get it) pecan pie cobbler.

Awesome service. You'll spend a lil more than if you go to HEB or Walmart but if you wanna buy local this is a great grocery store. Thomas Cryer is the manager and is probably one of the best at his job.

Well, we went in and bought the 8pc. chicken at 4:20pm today, the lady behind the counter said it was just made! Our mouths were watering!We had been traveling about 3 hours and were hungry for some of Brookshires chicken!We got down the road and our first bite we had to spit out! It was so old the chicken breast was barely warm and tasted like hay and the crust was so stale there was no crunch! You couldn't eat it! The legs were so little the meat was over cooked, you couldn't eat it either.That will be our last time to get chicken there! What a shame; sell the food at any cost to the customers!! Even if it means telling a lie!Shame on you Brookshires, if we hadn't been so tired and already a ways down the road, you would of gotten it back!!!

I love the fact that it's in the middle of nowhere but everybody loves their job and really appreciates it clean store clean bathroom great management would recommend it for anything they have everything you could possibly need on a road trip except for stuff that you're fine at a hardware store
