I called an order in to Kosse Cafe-I was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. I got there & waited 15 minutes for someone to help me at the counter, when the young man finally came to help-He went to check on my order-I heard the lady in the back say-we haven’t even started on the call in-young man comes back out & says it’s almost ready- give us 10 min…this was over an hour after placing my order. I sat in my car for 15 min went back inside - waited 10 min for help at the counter…he went to check on it-came back a few min later & said it will be right out…Not sure how long I waited at that point I was frustrated and just stood at the counter until the lady finally brought it out-few minutes later young man comes-rings me up to the tune of $54…at least an hour and a half after I called my order in-I got home & the dang hamburger steak was a freaking nasty patty covered in onions and peppers 🚫 NEVER AGAIN!!

I travel alot for work and this was my first time in Kosse so i decided to take a lunch break. It felt old and a little run down but i have no issue with that because it had that small town feel. I ordered a double cheeseburger with bacon and a side of fries. The order came out after about 8 minutes and the burger looked very good but the fries were lackluster. Burger was exactly as I ordered and you could tell it was homemade, not as much seasoning as i like but was still a very solid burger. The bun was soft and a little soggy though, would rather have it be a grilled bun, you get those nice char marks and it holds up just a bit better. The fries however you could tell were frozen. Don't think they were fried, tasted baked like you may do at home purchasing in a frozen bag from the store. Would have been better if they were fresh and fried. My waitress was attentive and kind as was the gentleman at the front so no complaints there. Prices seemed reasonable to me because the portions were huge. Overall was a solid entree and restaurant. Would probably go there again If I am ever in town.

My friend and i were riding through the area and decided to stop in Kosse Cafe for a late lunch. I'm typically not a fan of diners so i didn't expect to much. Boy was i surprised!We both ordered breakfast, eggs, bacon and pancakes and were pleasantly surprised. I can honestly say that was the very best diner breakfast i have ever had. Food was delicious, reasonably priced, service was excellent and the place clean and cozy. I also heard the fried catfish was very good.I live an hour away from here and will definitively be back to eat there again. Thank you for a most awesome dining experience.

Chicken fried steak was good but waitress had an attitude. We shared a DOUBLE chicken fried steak platter. Made a point of telling us only 1 trip to salad bar. Acted like we were stealing something. Nothing was posted. Prices really seemed expensive for portions received. 4 chicken tenders for 16.00??? Overall was not the best dining experience. Probably won't go back.

Their Pastor Torta is outstanding! Fresh Bolillo Bread is toasted and smeared with refritos and topped with delicious Pastor-style meat, lettuce and tomatoes. Chips and salsas were tasty, too.

One of the best Chicken Fried Steaks I’ve had in a long time! Tender, hot and crispy. The rest of the family enjoyed their lunches too. Double Grilled Cheese, Hamburger, and BLT with extra crispy bacon. Food was great. Service was fast and friendly. Best of all, this fine little family owned restaurant was clean and buzzing with locals.

Super friendly atmosphere with great food. Homemade pancakes, light and fluffy and not left on the griddle where they get hard and crispy. Only had breakfast but plan on returning for homemade lunch specials + dessert! Fresh salad bar is A+ too .

I usually go to Groesbeck to eat. Decided to try Kosse Cafe for a change. Glad I did. Super nice people and good food. I was so happy to see the salad bar. If you order large fries expect lots of fries. Fries were great. Salad bar was great.

Good comfort food. The salad bar could use a little help, not any protein available not even eggs. But the food is comfortable and the waitstaff very personable.
