Just got a sweet boy to join my current clowder and had a lovely experience. You can tell these babies are in good hands and well looked after until they find their forever homes. The adoption process was very straightforward, and all the staff/volunteers were extremely helpful and kind throughout the entire process. Definitely recommend visiting their fur-babies and/or donating any needed supplies!

I adopted Fidget, now Kali, from here and she was very well taken care of. The people here are great and clearly love the animals with all their heart. They have a trainer that works with the dogs, so the dogs are all great. I highly recommend adopting from them. They are very affordable and generous. They desire great homes and successful adoptions for all their animals.

Amazing place! They really love the critters. They are a no kill shelter so please adopt from so they can get more in. When they are full, they are simply full and can't bring anymore in but you will be getting a very healthy dog or cat and enable another to get the spoiled treatment these currently are!**Look at these 2 beautiful dogs! As of my posting, they have been there 2 1/2 and 3 years! That is way too long! And they are so sweet. The one in the first picture is really beautiful in person and so very unique looking! I can see why he is still there because he is skittish and hard to visit with but after 3 years wouldn't you be too! All he wants is to be loved and give love! And the second one; can't even imagine, she is amazing! Comes right up to you and gives love but no licks which is really nice. So soft and sweet! Go visit and give these babies the homes the so deserve! **

Wonderful people who volunteer their time to save domestic animals. The kennel is clean and the dogs are well cared for. I'd say the same for the cats which seem like the most mellow bunch of cats in existence. We got Sorcha there. I'll include a pic and you''ll see why I can't do other then five stars.

I enjoy this location. I am.confussed why they do not have any weekend hours. The hours posted are also traditional working hours for the population that would most likely be adopting a pet. The house posted are also the same hours children are in school..I'm not a human society specialist but I do observe social patterns. Even if I wanted to adopt I could not take the day off work and pull my child out of school to do so. ,🤷

Just want y’all to know this a great place to look for an animal we got our son Titus from hereThis review would have gotten five stars easy, if it was not for the staff..... I particular the “head staff” the one you will have to talk and answer questions like if your being convicted of murderYes I do say that from experience when we came to get out baby aka Titus “the huskie” we filed out the paper work show prof of where we lived and everything-then we where asked so many more pointless unneeded questions vary rude not a friendly conversation more like WHY YOU WANT THIS DOG !! What you going to do with it! How long y’all been married! Can y’all even take care of a dog? What happen if y’all die ! What happen if y’all brake up! If y’all have kids! Do y’all want to have kids?***remember this is a kill shelter if the animales are there for to long they do get killed ******After about an hour of talking to her she said yes we left into town to get a few supplies to make sure titus was safe and had food and to fix little parts of our fence to make sure he could not get outthe lady immediately with to our house to see if we live there and if we had a fence and stuff when we came to pick him up 2 days later (he had just gotten fix so he had to stay there a bit ) she would not let him go with us because she said our house was not safe for him after we told her we had fix any problems with our fence that she say on her 1st visit she drove with us to our home to make sure then we where finally given our baby

The shelter is amazing. The staff who takes care of the animals are wonderfully. I love them as much as I love the animals!

I'm worried that they neuter in spay the animals too early in life which could cause problems down the road. It also cost a lot to adopt from there. I was able to find a pet through word of mouth. He's a large gray male cat who has been neutered I would imagine he's 18 months old. I still have to check if he's chipped. I am not happy with the fact that someone had him declawed then dumped him at an apartment complex. I think he's going to be a good friend for my Siamese kitten Jackson who's about 6 months.

The director is like god-tier condescending. Anyone that works retail knows older women usually are, but damn. Although after looking up the amount of money in grants they get (just over 700,000 this last year) for having animals boarding, I guess I might hold onto pets like the Warden in Shawshank Remption also. If you have a multiple pet (dogs and cats) home, don't bother, you'll be turned away. You'll be asked to bring your dog (in my case dual champion bred very sweet very well behaved Australian Shepherd) for a meet and greet during the hours of 10 am to 3pm Mon through Fri no weekends and no exceptions because they take their days off seriously. (I chose a Friday.)If your animal is in any way nervous due to the 20 different dog smells in an unfamiliar setting, they will be labeled as "aggressive" and you'll be told they're trying to "go after" the other dog, so decrees the director aka the Dog Whisperer. Then, when you think you're done, said your goodbyes and thanked them for their time even after she's wasted yours, you'll get a text the next day, a Saturday, in fact. One of those venerated holy days after they've worked so hard for 5 hours a day Monday through Friday. A text that will say " Sorry the meeting didn't go the way you might have wanted. Your dog is beautiful but I feel at this time she should be your only dog."If the Dog Whisperer decrees such it must be so right?Anyway as luck would have it we chanced upon someone needing to rehome their sweet pit bull mix and after 30 minutes of adjustment barking running away and whining, my baby Biscuit has a new friend Gravy and they're doing great. But seriously they get money for the animals and don't let go of pets easily. Freeman and Fritz and the Animal Shelter in Kerrville are better suited for adoption.

Love this shelter. There's a thrift store to support the cause that I always find treasures at. I love donating here as well. We adopted our dog from here 13 years ago.

I hope everyone donates to this wonderful place. Give on older animals a chance to live a cage free and happy life. They can use food, bedding, and personal time to walk dogs. You just might fall in love with a friendly feline or dog.

Very rude personnel and the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Was told nobody was in line for the dog we wanted and next day found out there was 2 ahead of us for the same dog.

Ladies running the store were extremely friendly and helpful. The store is very well organized and you can't beat the prices. Don't forget the money supports animals, always a good cause.

For it being a thrift store, the items are very expensive. Though despite that the store was very well organized and it contained books, electronics, clothing, toys, and jewelry. All the proceeds go to the animal shelter there so it's money worth spending.

First and foremost I love they are a no kill shelter. Every pet deserves a home. The staff is friendly and the facility is clean. Before you buy from a breader, stop here. Or any shelter. The 2nd hand shop also has some amazing finds.

All dogs are great but the dogs I volunteer to walk (which is all of them if I have to) are all so sweet. You can volunteer to walk them, they need the excercise. They also have a thrift shop with good stuff.

Very unprofessional! Been trying to contact the shelter for a month now because I adopted a kitten I can not see yet. They haven’t contacted me and are closed. They need to inform people about what’s going on. They have been closed for a month now and used covid as an excuse.
