As usual I stopped in on the back roads to pick up my burger at the kendalia store! I purposely did not eat lunch anywhere else so that I would have room for the Kuhn Burger!! If you haven't had it it's a big fat bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions and peanut butter! Yes I said peanut butter and it's the most delicious hamburger ever!

We had bacon cheese burgers and they were good, homemade style. The service was also good. I'm rating 3 stars only because I felt uncomfortable about the big capital letter sign displayed with the word WHITE. The place in general feels like you're back in the 50s, which could be cool, except for that "little" aspect. We're in 2023 now, we should be more conscious about our personal decisions and their implications in society.

Have been here twice and both times were a good experience. Nothing pretentious about this place at all. Just excellent homemade hamburgers and the BLT was delicious. These type of places are disappearing so it is fun when you find one that has great food. Perfect place to stop on your motorcycle and enjoy a meal on the porch!!

WHITE was the name of the company.(In reference to someone commenting on the word White and taking offense)

The experience was so delightful that I couldn't resist returning the very next day, despite having to drive 20 miles. That's how good it is!While browsing through the reviews, I stumbled upon one that caught my attention—a photograph of a sign that read "White," with a reviewer named Claudia Villegas insinuating that the establishment was racist. I was astounded by this claim as I happened to know the history behind that sign. It was an old antique relic from the Freightliners Company in the 1940s. How absurd and unfair it was for someone to misinterpret its presence as a reflection of racism. This incident has highlighted a deeper issue: the unfortunate prevalence of baseless accusations.It is disheartening to witness the impact of a single misleading review. To insinuate that the owners, who I found to be some of the nicest people I have ever met, harbor racist sentiments is preposterous. In fact, it is evident from my experience that they are far from racist. The warmth and kindness they exude extend beyond their delicious cuisine. They have created an inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable and appreciated.It is regrettable that this woman chose to propagate lies about these wonderful individuals. Great place. Much larger inside than it appears from the outside. I had the breakfast tacos and hung around long enough to get the lunch special (meatloaf w mashed potatoes) All good. Pretty unique place, a hidden gem. I was passing through on business and was told that I had to stop and try the Kuhn Burger with Peanut Butter. I really really skeptical, but tried it anyways, and was surprised at how well it tasted. The folks there were friendly, and it's a quiet out of the way place, i would definitely stop here again if in the area.

Neat store. The staff is always friendly and ready to serve you. I like their burgers. The place is almost a secret. Very neat and unique place. They have a make-shift library and neat decorations along the walls, along with a post-office and tool repair/sharpening station. They would have earned the fifth-star if they would allow you to drink beer on the premise like the Bergheim General Store does.

Quaint small town convenience store with ice cream, drinks, and a few specialty items like fresh brownies. Best to have cash as credit cards are not accepted (debit cards are with a $10 minimum purchase). I love sitting on the front porch when we arrive here on the bikes. A great place to recover after the huge climb on Crabapple Rd before you reach Kendalia.

Heading from Austin to the Guadalupe for a weekend on the River, the Hill Country nature if this road side stand spoke to me, reminded me of my childhood, and demanded I stop. I'm so glad I did--best tomatoes, peaches, and watermelon of the season!

While the store has changed lots in the past years, the brownies are still icredibly delicious! I stop by on my way home some times and half the time I eat the brownie before I get home!!!

Probably a great old country store and restaurant. Will check it out soon. But I didn't go here, I went to the awesome produce stand across the street. Google maps doesn't show the produce stand and won't let me add it, or change that I wasn't at the general store.
