This adoption center is absolutely amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I went to every adoption center within 60 miles of me looking for the perfect dog for my family. The place is pristine and kept perfectly clean. Every animal we looked at was clearly perfectly cared for and worked with, just shows the love they have for these animals. I ended up adopting Flotsum (now named Ollie). He's just the most loving, friendly dog who doesn't meet a stranger people or pet. He's going to enjoy living with us and going camping and can't wait until he gets to explore all the places we love to go. Throughout my life I've been blessed with some of the most amazing pets and I'm pretty sure I've been blessed again to have been able to adopt Ollie. To everyone who helped us find our newest family member, thank you very much!

This place got it right with who they've placed at the front desk! We had to turn over our two 12 week old puppies due to extenuating circumstances, so this was a hard trip to make. The lady at the front desk was loving, respectful, non-judgmental, compassionate, and reassuring, to say the least. She explained the process to us, allowed goodbye hugs for my son's closure in this sensitive situation 😔, and told us how to follow up on our babies until adoption happened! Thank you for being a bitter sweet resolve to our family 💖!

I’m really confused as to why this shelter is bringing in dogs from DAS and Dallas county. We have had over 15 dogs dumped on our property in the past half year. Not a single one of them was able to be picked up by Kaufman county AC as this shelter was “full” yet we are importing dogs from dallas? I get put on an imaginary list every single time we have a dumped dog, doesn't matter if they are injured either! Something needs to change. You guys are causing a mass amount of dumping and our communities and tax payers are suffering the consequences while we help out other counties?? Ridiculous!!

Great experience. I was assisted by Kansas at the front desk.Walked me through adoption process from beginning to end. She was very friendly and helpful. Extremely informative explaining everything I needed to know because it was my first time adopting. 5/5 stars for that staff member. Make sure you ask for her! Great place

Someone dropped of a puppy on our property out in the country. We called Kaufman county animal control to pick her up. They couldn't catch her and told me they would come out the next day with different equipment to catch her. 3 days later they never came back and they won't answer the phone. So we called this place that claims to be an animal rescue but they won't take it unless it goes through Kaufman county animal control. This place is a joke.

Went to the free adoption event at the Kaufman County Animal Adoption Center yesterday and the staff was great fantastic about helping for three different visits before we decided to take the dog home because my dog had to come meet him they were just fantastic

I went into this place to adopt a dog, all the employees were very helpful but Kanas helped me narrow down my list of dogs I liked. She went and got all of there information for me then sat with me and gave me her honest input on each dog. She helped me pick an amazing dog. His name is now spot! This staff is very friendly and seem genuinely happy to be there. There animals seem happy and if that doesn’t speak for it’s self I don’t know what will.

Beautiful, well maintained, friendly staff at the front door who will ask what you are looking for. Went there looking for a Shepherd puppy and was told they had none, and had no puppies. I found a room with at least 3 who appeared to be a couple of months old separated off from the available dogs. When I went up and inquired as to their status I was told they weren't available yet. When I asked when they would be, I was told by someone at the front counter that they didn't know when they would be available because those puppies were found, so first had to be put on a stray hold, then transferred up to Ft Worth to be neutered and they weren't sure when that would be so just keep checking the website daily. Seems like quite a process, and they didn't seem too interested in helping "those puppies" find new homes. Ended up finding one from adopt a pet in my same town so all is well.

I so appreciate the folks that work at the adoption center. My sweet girl went missing and was picked up and brought there. They scanned her microchip and called me immediately. Microchip pets because I'm proof it works!

Adopted an 8 month old kitten named "Stinker". He came microchipped and neutered, low price, friendly staff, easy process. He's healthy and happy and gets along well with out other cat.

This place is a joke. This was our first, only and final experience we will ever have with this location, Kaufman Pet Adoption Center!! We are in process of remodeling our home. Some of the floor is exposed to outside at this time. A feral momma cat placed her kittens inside our house. We heard them crying and pulled off the plastic covering that area and found the kittens. Although they are still extremely young we nabbed them and took them to this place. Whom-ever that girl is at the front desk was not helpful at all. She said they could not take them. When my spouse jokingly said, what are we supposed to do them with if you don't take them....drown them, her response was if you are comfortable with that fine! She offered no alternatives nor did the other three people that were there. You can't tell me that this agency does not have people that can foster tiny kittens without their mom and none of them even offered to contact someone. Talk about unhelpful and lazy! She made no effort to help or suggest any alternatives and was rude and argumentative. She has no business being there or working there if she has no compassion. We constantly have problems with feral cats in our neighborhood and for some reason they have taken a liking to our trailer, most likely because we have no outside dogs.This has been going on for several years now and have had many a litter in just one year and every year since. Kaufman Animal Control was useless and will not help with capturing them either. They said it was not their job or responsibility and when we asked for traps to help capture them, they said they could not provide us with any and that we would have to purchase them from somewhere. Why should we have to put out that money when these are not our cats and all are feral. Isn't that supposed to be part of their job? We are getting tired of having these cats constantly under our house, on our deck, on or under our cars and getting into the garage and then inadvertently getting locked in when my spouse leaves the garage doors open while working out in the yard. This is an absolutely ridiculous situation with no one willing to help or take any responsibility whatsoever. We do not wish to harm these animals but we also don't want them constantly here either as they are taking over our yard and house when none of these animals belong to us! SPCA is supposed to take strays or surrendered animals, so what is your problem?

We just did a walk-through looking at the place. I was impressed. It was clean and all the workers were really nice. The animals seemed relaxed while other dogs were being taken outside for their play time.

I went here looking to adopt. Everyone in this facility is extremely nice and very helpful. The staff members that helped me were honest and gave me a lot of amazing information and explained how easy the adoption process is! The assistant manager was a great help and takes amazing pictures of the animals!

we adopted a dog from there and he turned out really aggressive and we went up to see what we have to do but turns out we have to wait till the president reads our email about it and the lady said it takes a while and told us a few ways to “help with the aggression” but it’s getting worse. i can’t have my mom and 2 week old sister at the house when she needs me to help watch her because of him.

The kids turned 18 and didn't want to do anything with 3 guinea pigs, I didn't know how to take care of them, so I called and the animal shelter said bring them and they will adopt them out to children who really want and love them, they were very helpful the girls, I walk with a cane and they made a couple of trips to the car to get them and that was so sweet, all the beautiful amazing staff had a smile on their faces, the girls was so amazing, I absolutely love this animal shelter, they even said I could bring carrots and vegetables for them and check on them anytime 😊, and they said I could bring carrots for the rabbit too, that was so cute up there,
