We bought our puppy here almost a year ago now! Sadly only thing we were upset about was that our puppy we brought couldn’t met him in the “playpen” they have to meet the puppies. I understand they have rules but honestly our puppy is friendly and wasn’t going to do anything bad to him or so. We are very happy to have Riddick home with us! He was a present for me from my dad 😊! He is such a good listener and hasn’t had any problems so far! He is healthy, eats good and exercises well!!!!! Only reason I am giving a 4 star was the issue about our puppy not being able to meet him in the playpen and also only 1-2 were only allowed to be inside the pen. The buyer and the one who booked the reservation sadly. But other than that great staff, service and clean place! From puppy to almost adult he will be ONE in July ❤️ The brown puppy is the female we bought from a different pet store and different times but in the same year. Both purebred Mini Schnauzers and fully grown! Kira & Riddick!!!

It’s been three months since I got a pet from Petland. He’s great. Needs help trying like any puppy would. I was assured that there was a type of training program I could get on through petland, which as a phone call today was not true. “An employee did training on the side” was what was said today. Another issue with petland is their “vet” connection. It’s a scam they want to keep you on an expensive heartworm program saying you get a discount. Lies. I had to do his last set of shots, it was going to be 127( lady slipped with the actual price) then it jumped to 307 because he needed a six shot package. I said no asked about just the shots all of sudden it’s the same price regardless. So expensive puppies for an expensive vet. Pretty pointless when you are saying they are not from mills and well taken care of yet the vet acts like they’re dying and need extra unnecessary treatments. I won’t be buying here again. My dog is cute though.

FIRST OF ALL- I don’t think petland is as clean or transparent as I thought after my experience. If you get a pet from here MAKE SURE you push for a fecal exam because these animals come with bacterial infections or worms or SOMETHING.My husband bought the two very first couple of cats that they had. They are incredibly overpriced (4K each). It’s also INCREDIBLY EASY to get a pet. I was very surprised. I mean as long as you have the cash or credit to finance one, I don’t think they care what kind of conditions you are bringing this animal to. They definitely did not ask us anything or even evaluate anything other than our credit and how much we make!Anyway, I begged my husband to instead contact a quality cattery since their prices are way lower and fair. Unfortunately my husband decided he wanted these two, so in the end I supported him.Petland will give you some perks including a 2 week timeframe to take the pet to THEIR vet and check for anything wrong which peatland will pay for. Well we did, we let the vet know that the cats had diarrhea since they got home and the vet said that it was normal and we should just monitor. Well it’s been a bit more than the two weeks and the cats still have diarrhea. So we went back and they wanted to do a fecal exam but according to them, petland said they won’t pay for it even though they’ve been having issues since we got them. So I met with my vet who basically told us that these cats are way younger than what PL is saying they are which I believe because they are tiny! We didn’t need him to tell us this as we already suspected it. They both came from the exact same breeder although they are different breeds. My friend is a vet and had later told us that petlands breeders are not what they crack them up to be. The animals come from mills. So it’s no surprise they would sell a car that’s way too young. Here’s the thing: my mother in law also bought a pet from petland and hers came with a bacterial infection as well. She pushed for a fecal exam and was able to get it covered. So push them to check. Also, here is something I noticed. The cats and dogs are kept behind the glass and they step on rails. So when they go to the bathroom, the mess can fall onto the other pet below. Which is obviously unsanitary. My conclusion is that what is done is done. The cats are cute and they are good pets and we love them but….Petland animals come from mills. You are not adopting a pet, you are buying from a mill. The place is not as sanitary as you’d want. The animals come with bacterial infections.Their vets suck.Only good things is the PL staff is nice. But I’m never buying from there again and will recommend anyone I know against it.

My daughter and I had a great experience while looking for a new puppy . Sarah was the associate who helped us and I cannot say enough about her knowledge and genuine love for all the animals . She was so patient with us and she really helped us when choosing our new fur baby! Thank you Sarah for all your help and If I was in charge you would have a promotion!

Extremely overpriced. I should’ve done more research before getting a puppy here. There are reputable breeders that will sell purebred puppies much cheaper. $4400 for a golden retriever after tax, this was the price with a discount for a special they had at the time. I fell in love with the golden retriever I saw there and had to take her home. The vet they recommend for the free comprehensive visit is quite pricey too. They want to offer to spay my puppy for $600-$700. I found places to spay puppies for around $100-200.Besides that, most the staff at this location are very nice and sweet. The place is clean and all the puppies are sweet and friendly. My puppy I brought home is extremely sweet and loving. She appears quite healthy. I love my puppy, she’s very social and loves other dogs/kids/people.Update pic: her now

Purchased a registered Pembroke Welsh Corgi on January 15, 2024 from the Petland Store on FryRd in Katy, Tx.At the time of purchase was promised the registration papers would be sent to me.As of April 23, 2024 I feel sufficient time has passed to receive the paperwork promised, and after contacting management almost 10 time I continue to get the run around “ I will look into it”, or “let me see, give me a due days” yet I have not heard back from Petland and still no papers.I Suggest Everyone Not to purchase a pet from this store. I spent over$4,500 for a registered pet and have no papers as promised by the Manager.

DO NOT BUY A DOG FROM PETLAND! I bought my dog Last year of Feb-March period of 2023 at the Katy location. In December my dog was diagnosed with Hip dysplasia. I reached out to Petland Katy and the people by the name of Thomas (manager) and Sarah have been giving me the run-around and misleading information. Thomas told me that 1 out of every 4 generations get hip dysplasia and my dog just so happpen to get it. Thomas also said he would get me the OFA papers on the parents to see who had hip dysplasia and I HAVE YET to receive those everytime I would ask. He told me it only took 3 business days and it’s well beyond that now and he lied later and said he was going to try to get them. Remind you every call when you call them is on a recorded line and he has been lying. At the very beginning before me purchasing my dog I was TOLD VERBALLY and paper check off that his health, x-rays, updated shots and vaccines everything has been good and their was no signs of red flags. Petland Katy told me that there was nothing that they could do to help support towards his future cost expenses towards his condition that is uncured. The manager Thomas has always acted, unprofessional, not returning calls, as well as Sara. They would tell me all these things as though they were helping me with my concerns and questions and would fail to follow up professionally as a business should with their customers. They would tell me they are calling me right back and would not. They would tell me they would relate messages and have someone call me on a specific day and that did not happen. I also got a full estimate of what my dogs future expenses would be from his vet DR and Petland Katy did not want to be any part of it. I feel that if they would have been straightforward and honest about his x-rays when he was a puppy, it would have given me a conscious decision if I wanted to move forward with purchasing my dog or not but instead, they withheld that information from customers unless you ask in detail. I am still now struggling with getting things done with Katy that is fair for me and the support of my dog that I am now responsible for that I did not ask for. They were telling me I could get another dog, but why would I do that when they are withholding information from customers like myself, which is later putting us at risk for being responsible for the unhealthy conditions of these dogs. My dog turned one in November of last year and was diagnosed with hip dysplasia the month after(DECEMBER). I feel that Petland is not honest, untrustworthy and greedy for money, despite of what conditions the dogs may have later in the future this is why they have a contract that even states some of the conditions that could possibly happen to your dog. They are not making sure that the animals that they are receiving from sellers to make sure that they will be in great hands in the new future of new homes without future health conditions that they know will arise later. This is unfair to me and many others who may have purchased animals from this business. I thought I could trust this company because there are so many scammers online but I see that this company is not any better than scammers besides a higher larger bill that you have to pay for the rest of the dogs life, which is undetermined. This also effects me of not being able to breed my dog to even make my money back because hip dysplasia will effect his puppies. I also received an estimate of my dogs future cost and expenses from his doctor towards his treatments, therapies; and it cost just as much as a brand new vehicle costs if not more. Please people my advice to you is have your questions ready in DETAIL when you are purchasing from any seller. They WILL NOT TELL YOU THESE THINGS UP FRONT. I will NEVER and don’t recommend anyone buying a pet from PETLAND of any location. I hope my experience can save you money and for you to purchase a furbaby with someone who is trusted, professional, makes things right, transparent and honest.

I wanted to really like coming here to shop all my necessities for my pets but unfortunately couldn’t. Every time I place an order they like to act like they don’t know when the orders are coming, it’s very unorganized and unhelpful. There’s a young lady that literally doesn’t know what she is doing. Always ringing things incorrectly. But yeah you place an order and they never get back to you as well as things being overpriced ! not coming back

Our family went in last night to have a look at the selection of puppies. We fell in love with a miniature Australian Shepard. After having some playtime we discussed the pros and cons of bringing a puppy home. We spent about 3 hours in the store. Chris the GM went out of his way to answer every question we had. The store itself is super clean and hygienic. No foul odors at all. The kennels are clean. All Their staff are all very informative and helpful. We look forward to raising our new puppy.

Great experience! The staff is a very knowledgeable and most important they care about the well-being of animals. Would definitely purchase another puppy from them for sure. A few areas of note if you are considering purchasing a pet from this location: 1). Petland’s staff is great, and they will give general recommendations on training, but they do not have a training program. Instead they will tell you to go on YouTube for training videos. Not bad advice, but also not a training program. 2). Petland keeps all vaccinations up to date until the day of purchase. From there, you must arrange and pay for required vaccinations going forward. 3). Petland has a partnership with the Katy Area Veterinary Medical group. Please note this group operates 3 clinics under 3 different names: 1). Grand Morton Animal Clinic. 2). Highland Knolls Veterinary Hospital and 3). Spring Green Pet Clinic You must complete a first exam with a clinic in this network within 5 days of purchase in order to validate Petland’s guarantees and warrantees as outlined in their agreement. I would recommend to do the following after purchasing your fur baby from Petland: 1). Schedule the first appointment with a Katy Veterinary Medical Group clinic. 2). Enroll in a wellness and insurance plan for continuing care. Here is why… the katy veterinary medical group advertises that they have a wellness plan specific to petland customers, but they do not. I ended up paying about $400 for vaccinations and boosters within the first month of getting my furpal. It is a bit pricey, but i understand operating independently as a clinic is more costly so naturally the consumer would absorb the cost. While i do prefer to support local community businesses, i did not have a good experience with this vet group. The staff veterinarians are amazing; however, front office staff was not pleasant to work with. They charged me full price for a visit that was supposed to be discounted, and were extremely rude, defensive, and combative when i inquired about the charge and the wellness plan they said they had. I specifically had an encounter with Angela, who i believe is the owner’s spouse, so she’s an ingrained influence in the tone of the front office and overall customer experience. I ended up enrolling with banfield instead. I paid 160+$60 a month and ALL of my boy’s vaccinations AND neutering was covered. It was a fraction of the price at KVMG and a more pleasant, streamlined experience. I’m actually kicking myself for not going this route earlier, but I’m a first time pet owner so wanted to share my experience so other first timers can consider my path. Also, there are other independent local vets that have wellness plans like dr Fidelis’ office. The bottom line is consider different wellness options for your pup. KVMG was not for me. Considering the high out of pocket costs for wellness visits and no training program, Petland’s value proposition diminishes. But if you do what i said and not what i actually did, i think overall cost is a little high but reasonable. Plus you’ll have a better experience overall. All in all, i do recommend petland and thank them for connecting me with my forever friend.

Great staff, pups are so adorable but way to expensive. You will pay About double what you’d pay from other breeders if you buy a pup from here. If it weren’t for the price I would’ve went home with a puppy today.

All of the staff at Petland Katy were very nice and they were knowledgeable about the puppy I chose. I would definitely go back to them again. We love our furr baby and we are so grateful they had the perfect addition to our family for us to adopt.

This is a very small location but the Quality + Quantity of puppies & customer service is impressive.1 star was removed bc of the lack of on-site grooming, medical & the parking lot needs work.

On October 2nd 2021 my husband and I wondered into Petland, never having heard of it (they had a sign that said free puppy hugs). We walked in and there was a wall of puppies different breeds and colors. We see this cute little fluff ball and he had a sign that said "ask me about my special pricing". We get him out, go through all the paper work and get to the warranty part. I am going to be honest - a warranty on a puppy - "yeah ok I'll believe it when I see it." Jokes on me because October 4th I brought the dog to my vet in Austin (where we live) and my cute puppy gets diagnosed with a heart murmur. Oh lord here we go. So I called Petland and spoke with Thomas and Chris about the warranty and what does it all mean. Do I have to drive to Katy and get another puppy immediately? Can I wait till I have this one trained and figure out its medical needs? Thomas and Chris answered my questions, even while shocked that this was happening, because it doesn't. I sent them my papers from the vet with the diagnosis and all the things requested. We were good to go. Fast forward to February 16th, 2022 I call up Katy Petland, speak to Thomas and tell him I'm ready for the new puppy; so can we get the ball rolling. I would like to come in on the 18th and get my warranty dog but for them to be prepared, because I'll be bringing five children with me. We get there, the staff was still kind, even with everything that has happened. Chris even asked about our original puppy and we discussed the children and over all a great experience.Moral of this story is the puppy's have price tags but I'm here to tell you the warranty is actually truthful and they didn't get upset when I cashed in on the new puppy. Thomas is amazing! Chris understands and explains well and non-manager Sarah is a sweetheart.

Think about this & of course, do your own research. These puppies are overpriced. Also there is no price transparency. They don’t have them listed anywhere so their prices are not set. You could buy a puppy from a reputable breeder and have it brought to you for less. You could meet the parents of the puppy you want to adopt. They could answer your questions about the breed of your dog better since they’ve specialized with that breed. The people who work here typically do not know all this. They wouldn’t be selling working breed dogs to anyone. They don’t make sure the dog is a good fit to your lifestyle like reputable breeders do. Shelters put more effort into finding the right fit for a dog than these places. A reputable breeder WILL NOT sell to a puppy mill. They would like to know that their dogs, who they work hard for, are going into proper homes. If they sell to a store they don’t know who their puppies will end up with. Please, if you’re looking for a specific breed, find a reputable breeder who can help select the best puppy for you. Meet the parents and see how your puppy will look grown. Know what their genetics will be like. Get tips from the people who have years worth of experience. Don’t just go based off of how much the dog’s parents weigh. That’s literally all this place gives you. But if you go to a breeder, you can find out so much more. Or you could also adopt. You have many choices but hopefully this is not the choice you go with.I saw a beautiful Dalmatian here and asked how much it would be. $8k for a Dalmatian that did not have any special coloring. However, I decided to find a REPUTABLE breeder and learned a lot more with them. 1) A Dalmatian is a high energy dog. Something that this place never told me about. 2) Dalmatians typically are more prone to having high uric acid levels which can lead to stones. These are TWO very important things. They can be a reason people later return a dog. I got my Dalmatian from a lovely breeder and my dog is doing wonderful. A lot better looking that the one I saw here. He even has a gorgeous heart shaped spot on his nose. I paid less for him and am a lot more glad too because he couldn’t be anymore perfect.

This store supervisor was super rude talking immediately and giving attention to the white folks im a Latina woman and he kept brushing me and my husband off. Seems a bit racist we walked out because the customer service was awful and he proceeded to giggle as we left. Disgusting behavior

This is probably the best pet breeder in Katy! Saw some of the most cutest dogs ever! Went with my family for the first time in March. Place is clean and sanitary, they also give out free puppy playtime (only with ID) Now its my 6th time coming here! Place is in a really good location though. Next to eateries, shops, and kid fun! Puppies are neutered, spayed, and micro chipped which is awesome. Nice toys, cages, and probably the grooming. Petland may not be the first choice comparing to like PetCo and PetSmart, but it is a second resort! Prices are a little bit ridiculous for the smaller dogs here, but its reasonable. Always coming here for pet supplies, and pet grooming.

The puppies were exceptionally cute but severely overpriced, in my opinion, even for all that was included in the 1st year. The customer service I received from a female associate with dark hair was superior (I wish I remembered her name). She was patient, kind, very informative & she almost sold me on a rabbit when I came in for a puppy. I'll be back.

We went in today for a cone for our dog who has stitches (which they didn't have), and saw they clip all their bird's wings. They said they don't have cones due to animal rights activists (which makes no sense), but how are you "listening to animal rights activists" and clipping bird wings at the same time?

I’ve been a dog lover all my life and would like to think I know a lot about them. The employees at Petland Katy have added to my knowledge and I learn something new almost every time I visit. I look forward some times just to stop by for a friendly chat. They are very friendly, knowledgeable and will spend as much time with you as needed. I always have a positive experience when I drop by.

The staff was so friendly and professional. They helped me work within my budget to find my new puppy. Unlike other stores, their main focus was not “selling me”, instead they helped guide me in selecting what I needed, showing me all the options and making recommendations from their personal experience. Not only will I be returning for my pet supplies, I will definitely recommend Petland Katy to everyone I know. Not all Petland stores are the same, and while I have visited some of the other locations, I would not recommend them. Petland Katy is the place to go!
