Family member bought about $200 in fish, first time visit. The guy seemed nice and helpful. Fast forward several days, one of the fish we purchased died. It ended up they sold us a fish that was pregnant and was unable to birth for some reason. The guy said he can't tell if those fish are pregnant. End result, it must of been our water that killed it even though everything else is thriving, no in-store credit, no refund, he just blamed our water and offered to test it for free. A rather disappointing experience and will be the last time we do business with them. A fine example of how to lose customers.

My dad has been coming here since we moved to Katy. This is where he got his tomato clowns as well as the corals for his saltwater tank. The tomato clowns are still alive! They are probably 13 years old now. Recently I visited this place and realized they added freshwater. Yay for me! I've been coming here more often because the lady attending the shop is super sweet and nice. I got my beautiful angelfish from here and they are really healthy and growing fast.Here is a picture of the Lion fish they had there š

I was very close to getting rid of my tank. My husband and I have been trying to get rid of hairy and purple algae for a while, and could not control it. Our tank was looking terrible, so I decided to give it one last try and went to Cinco Ranch Aquarium. I spoke to the new owner of the fish gallery, we did a three way call with her husband, he explain everything we needed to do step by step. He took the time to talk to us even though he wasnāt at the store. I was impressed by how kind and helpful both of them were. Needless to say my tank is looking so much better, and I canāt wait to add additional pets to the family.

You definitely want to shop for your marine livestock at CRA. I bought a gorgeous red macro algae for my ānitrate-challengedā five-gallon aquarium, and it looks absolutely beautiful (see pic). It quickly started sucking up the nitrates. Priscilla (the manager?) is a saltwater expert who not only can answer all your marine questions but is a very sweet young woman and very enjoyable to talk to. Sheāll even give you her email to answer your questions. If all that wasnāt enough, her brother-in-law coworker even threw in the bag a different small red algae for free! (that you can see in the bottom of the pic.) And thatās not all.DO NOT buy your mandarin fish anywhere else. They sell them āpre-trainedā to eat frozen mysis! Priscilla somehow knows how to get them eating dead non-swimming morsels. You donāt have to worry about your tank having enough copepods for them to survive or buying live brine shrimp all the time; you can feed them yourself! They wonāt starve to death like often happens with mandarins. Oh yes, it gets better.They sell just about everything, including octopi and cuttlefish (even cuttlefish eggs)! Even if you donāt buy anything, itās neato-mosquito just watching the tiny octopus do his thing. Iām looking forward to going backāand I live in Houston Clear Lake!

$30 for a beta fish is a joke. Pet depot has them for $8. Walmart for $5.00. First timer⦠and I had no idea they ripped me off!

Love that Cinco Ranch Aquariums is so centrally located in Katy. Specializing in marine aquatic needs, but can get anything needed. Will answer questions, give advice, and assist you in a personally engaging way that is never condescending. Really appreciate this place and highly recommend.

Thoroughly impressed by the level of service and care provided by the owners. They were incredibly helpful and patient, taking the time to answer all of my questions and help me learn more about the hobby.I was also very pleased with the selection of animals available, all of which were clearly well-cared for and healthy. The prices were fair and competitive with other stores in the area.Overall, I highly recommend this saltwater fish store to anyone looking to get into the hobby or looking to add to their existing collection. The owners are truly dedicated to their craft and it shows in the quality of their animals and the level of service they provide.

You must visit Cinco Ranch Aquariums! The owners are super friendly and help you with any questions or concerns you have whether it's salt water or fresh water questions. They just made some renovations and continue to work on their store. I was told many more new changes are on the way! Their livestock is healthy and their Aquariums are always very well maintained. It's pretty cool how they always have new fish, corals, and live freshwater plants instock....PLUS, i was told if they do not have it.....they will do special orders! This is a store you must visit with great people and great prices!!

Not much to offer. Prices were averagly high. Seen a few dead floaters in the tanks. If I bought anything here I would definitely quarantine.

This is the 3rd time I have stopped at this store. All 3 times have been during THEIR posted times of operation that they have on a sign in their window next to their door. All 3 times they were closed. Take down your sign and put up a sign that says we will open when ever we eventually show up. Why do you bother to post hours of operation when you do not adhere to them. I will continue to spend my money at my regular stores and forget about this one.

The store was not very well maintained. They had dead fish in several tanks. They were sold out of practically all plants and decor.It was also very clear that the saltwater section was getting a lot more love and attention.That being said, staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.

Excellent service, very polite, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. My ten-year-old daughter saved money for a long time to buy her first aquarium, and they guided and helped her through the whole process. We will continue buying our supplies there for sure.

I sure loved this place, such a variety of healthy fish. The costumer service is so good. That's pretty much where I started the whole aquarium passion, my only complanate is the info they provide is totally wrong, I followed their info, thinking they studied and know a lot about fish, but my results were my betta eating all my shrimp (witch they said that "betta do so well with shrimp".) and also my betta died a couple of weeks away from the day I bought it.

I love it every time I go into the store. Everything is clean and organized. The staff are always happy to help answer questions and their knowledge is extensive. They definitely know what they are doing. The fish always look healthy whenever I go in. They also have a wide selection, so if you don't quite know what you want, they can help you find what would work best with what you can handle. I particularly love going in to see the shark eggs and the predator fish like the lion fish. Not only do they have a large selection of aquatic life, but they also have a wide variety of the food needed and everything is affordable. Favorite fish store I have ever been to.

We have been in quite a few times and are always greeted and helped immediately or when they have finished helping someone else or finishing up whatever theyāre doing. They are wonderful, very happy to answer questions, help, etc. It is locally owned and operated which we love, we try to support local businesses if possible. They have more than doubled the freshwater selection in the last year (give or take). They have some freshwater plants now as well. They have a great selection for saltwater corals and fish but I donāt know much about them other than theyāre beautiful and all look healthy! We highly recommend Cinco Ranch Aquariums and look forward to being long time customers!

First of all. They never answer their phone. Then I went there and spoke to a gentlemen who said they clean tanks and take in aquatic life but I would need to talk to the owner. Finally got ahold of the owner, Priscilla who said the employee misspoke. I inquired about cleaning services, she said she would call me back and never has. I left another message and again has never called me back

5 stars for staff which is quite knowledgeable and helpful but zero stars for their policies especially the no returns, refunds or exchanges. One of the clownfish was not healthy and died less than 24 hours after purchase (other fish was ok). The owners refused to exchange the fish or provide store credit. I have been reefing for about 15 years and have multiple tanks so I know a little about keeping fish. I planned to purchase hundreds of dollars worth of additional fish and corals for my ever expanding hobby but if they can't even credit a few dollars for a clownfish I cannot even consider purchasing fish costing in excess of $250 from them. I absolutely respect their policy as it is clearly posted but as a business owner I would handle any case on an individual basis. It's not the money but the principle. Back to online shopping where there are 7-14 day guarantees to arrive and stay alive.

They have an amazing selection of fish, rocks, anything a novice or even advanced fish keeper needs. The staff is also extremely accommodating and helpful too which is very important for a hobby like this!

Both the owner and the son are fantastic. I always go to their store their selection is great the fish are outstanding. Love just going there to see the fish at times and to ask questions about my tank. I'm glad that I have the fish store close to me that I can count on. By the way the fish are always in great condition and their corals are beautiful.

Go to any other fish store. At least any other fish store will actually help you get started and give you REAL knowledge on a saltwater tank. The owner tricked me into buying the most horrible light for my saltwater tank. I was just starting out and did not know what light to buy and i trusted this owner. Never again. He was not trying to help me. All he did was take my money. I would recommend going into houston or even to cypress over this horrible store. i have never had such a bad experience. i will never return to this store and you shouldnāt buy from this over priced place. If you think Fish Gallery is expensive just wait. 0/10.

No one greeted us or asked if we need help. Even when we made eye contact a few times they just walked past us as if we weren't in the store.*edit to respond to their response*That's flat out a lie. When we walked in you were assisting 3 customers. There were 2 other employees working there who didn't acknowledge us or offer assistance. In addition we stayed for awhile looking at every tank multiple times even after the 3 customers left. We were the only customers at the store, yet, there were still ZERO acknowledgement. Please do not twist the situation into your favor. By doing that your apology is not an apology.

Excellent store! The father & son are very knowledgable and helpful. Old school customer service because they are owner/operators doing what they love to do. I pass by a more convenient store in order to work with these guys. It's not that the other store doesn't have employees who love fish, it's that I don't get the same level of service. I highly recommend Cinco Ranch Aquariums.
