we were scheduled for echocardiography for $900. i was unable to interact with anyone but the lowest level employees who transported my dog. i specifically asked to speak with the echocardiographer but was denied the opportunity. This is unacceptable customer service. would have taken 30 seconds, maybe 15, to pop out & say hi, introduce oneself & discuss their credentials. As it is I’m left wondering who did the test, if they were qualified & even if they did the requested/paid testing as no work products were offered. i will say the front office staff were nice & the facility was clean & smelled good. i suspect this is a high quality facility & minor changes will do a lot for their reputation. Please look at my other reviews, which are objective. FYI Paco is doing better!

We arrived late last Saturday evening suspecting our dog had bloat. As soon as we walked in the door, they immediately took him back for triage/ X-rays. They confirmed it was in fact bloat and began planning for surgery. The vet techs are absolutely incredible. Our family was shocked by how caring and compassionate the staff was throughout this process. Dr. Ying walked us through every step of the procedure and recovery giving us complete confidence in his abilities. Before surgery began, we went back to see our pup and found a vet tech sitting on the floor with him comforting him. We received text messages from the vet tech throughout the procedure keeping us updated on progress. After the procedure we were texted a picture of him laying down resting on top of several fluffy blankets. The morning after procedure we went for a visit and the staff brought a big comforter into the room for him to rest on and gave us a remote to call for them when we were ready. Since he’s come back home we have had to call twice with questions about post op care. Both times the vet has called us back right away and thoroughly answered our questions. Most importantly, the procedure was an absolute success and our pup is recovering perfectly. We’ve been to several late night/ ER vets, and have simply never found this level of care elsewhere.

My experience here was not a good one. We made an appointment with BluePearl because our regular vet referred them for our dogs needs. We were very concerned about this visit given our dog is only five. The start of our appointment was rocky to say the least. The tech who guided us through the entire appointment didn’t seem confident or knowledgeable in anything they said. That was uncomfortable and concerning. After 1 hour we finally saw a vet who broke down the results of the test and next steps. This was a 5 minute interaction. We were expecting to go home after speaking with the vet and then the tech came back and explained they would need our dog for another hour or so and we could run errands. While we waited we saw 1 other patient. Every time we saw staff members they were hanging out on their phones. The appointment was 3 hours total. Shouldn’t this be explained when booking an appointment? As we checked out we were told we would be getting more test results in a few days, which were needed to proceed with treatment. Never heard back from bluepearl until we called back twice. First time they had no record of our visit. Second time all they could tell me is the results were negative. Negative meant nothing in this case. We needed detailed notes regarding what negative meant! Finally after hanging up in frustration I got a detailed email with the results and treatment plan from the actual Vet. For the amount of money people are spending here for their loved animals who have serious health conditions, the service should be exceptional, but it doesn’t seem like they care about their patients at all. We will not be back.

When your pet is sick or injured Blue Pearl is open 24-7 for assistance. The staff and vets are welcoming and sincerely concerned about your pet and their emergency. After triage you might have a considerable wait depending on the degree of emergency and how many patients are ahead of you but it's worth the time. The staff are transparent with wait times, cost, and care. I've used their services twice and if an emergency should arise again I won't think twice about going back.

Our dog had some episodes of syncope and I took him to Blue Pearl. Dr Christy and her staff were amazing! I’m so glad that I was able to get my baby seen and that he was taken care of properly. Dr Christy recommended he stay the day for oxygen and I felt completely comfortable with leaving him with their staff. Dr Christy communicated her thoughts and his condition to me clearly and i’m very grateful. Thank you all for the great care you provided him today !

I took my baby on Sunday night the receptionist was friendly and so was the nurse. How ever the doctor on shift was not. Before checking her or doing any test he came in the room with all kinds stories of its it’s this your looking at 1200 dollars if it’s this other you are looking at 2500 dollars but we would have to keep her over night on oxygen and well the price for 6 hours is this much and after blood work and X-rays the price is this much more. If money is a problem you should put her down . So those were my options with out any test. I felt Rob and he really wasn’t listening to my requests. The only reason why I took her there was the distance I didn’t want to waste time driving further but as I was there I remember why I was so In happy with them a couple of years back with another pet, that I was push to euthanized base on their recommendation, I regretted not getting a second opinion then and I regretted going there again. I will never go there again. The nurses and receptionist were kind and helpfulBut the vet I felt was just thinking on how he was going to charge instead of assisting my pet. It was all about the money not sure if he was trying to make up with us what he had not made in revenue all week. Am really disappointed with this vet and the facility. I have made up my mind and will never risk my pets life again by going to this facility just because it’s close by. I will make the drive to get the proper help

Our dog had eaten something poisonous and wasn't doing well at all. We brought her to Blue Pearl Pet Hospital at 10:30PM on a Saturday. The staff and the doctor were very helpful, attentive to our pet, and really professional. Highly recommended!!

I have gone to BluePearl several times when my pets were in distress. Each time my pets and I were treated well and with compassion. I feel such comfort when I arrive, knowing they will do everything they can to help. They are professional and kind. Being open 24 hours a day is also a great comfort. I know where to go when unexpected things happen with my pets.

This was my first visit to Blue Pearl - it’s not close to my house but I had an emergency. It was definitely worth a 35 minute drive. The staff made me feel comfortable, and Dr. Ying was great. He explained everything so that I understood, including possible future complications to look for. I would definitely bring my dogs to Blue Pearl again.

The staff is friendly and kind. The doctors are capable. Everything went as smoothly as can be expected when having to use an emergency vet. Working at a facility like this cannot be easy, and I know compassion fatigue can be difficult to deal with. But I never got the feeling that the staff was just going through the motions.Going to an animal ER is every pet parent's worst nightmare. I was so grateful that the staff was so understanding when I came in and was having trouble keeping it together. I hope I don't need to utilize their services again, but if I do I know that we'll be in good hands.

My sweet little senior dog Gus went into congestive heart failure last Monday 3/4 late in the afternoon- my vet did all she could & sent me to Blue Pearl at I-10 & Fry. Gus was dying as we arrived & the staff were ready & took him right in, but his little body didnt make it & there was no reason to try & resuscitate him. The vet & staff were so very kind, they cleaned him up & let me spend as much time as I needed with him in a private room, then prepared him so I could take him to my vet to be cremated & they didn't charge me anything. I couldn't have asked for a better experience in the midst of such a heartbreaking time, & will be forever grateful for their kindness & the respect they showed my beloved little Gus.

Dr. Ying, Pablo, and Tara are all amazing! I brought my Mia in after she and our other dog got into a fight. Her eyes was popped out. I told them from the beginning that I had absolutely no way to pay (3 months of $700 electric bills and some other unexpected bills wiped us out). They immediately took Mia back, gave her strong pain meds, popped her eye back in place, and trimmed her nails. They sent us home with pain medication, and I was given a $271 bill with 30 days to pay. I am beyond thankful to this amazing team! God bless you all!

Any time I needed emergency vet care for my dogs, Blue Pearl was great. I’m a nurse so I know what to expect when my dog had congestive heart failure or cancer. They’re caring and considerate. I’ll always use them for emergencies. Thank you all!

This place took my girl right in. She couldn’t walk so they wheeled a gurney out to the car to bring her in. They were very honest about what tests they offered vs the ones that would be the most relevant. Unfortunately my baby didn’t make it, she was 13 and in heart failure, the staff gave my family all the time we needed to say goodbye and cry and gave her chicken, let me wrap her up in her favorite blanket. Then a week or so later I got a hand signed card wishing me condolences. I thought it was so sweet. Very great staff.

UPDATE 2023 - my dog’s IMHA flared up again and let me tell you this place is AMAZING!!! They all remembered her and rolled out the red carpet and saved her life again!! Thank you Michelle H., Brittany, Terah, Monica, Sheena, Laura, Krystal, Veronica, Victoria, Dr Obaid, Dr Ying, Dr Christy, Dr Manion, Dr Villinovea, Dr Maeson, Dr Geier…. every single one of these folks are so kind and considerate and know exactly what’s going on with your fur baby and they text photos and updates 24/7!! You can text them any time of the day or night if you want to check on your baby or have a question! That is invaluable when you think your baby is dying! We were here twice this time for a total of almost a month I think, so I’ve gotten to know them all. I adore this place and these kind professionals!!! ❤️2022 - THEY SAVED MY DOG!!! This place is absolutely amazing, PRO ALL THE WAY!!!! I made the mistake of bringing my dog to the Animal ER at 290/Mueske and believe me when I say you will wait and wait and wait and never get updates on your animal. And when my dog needed a blood transfusion she had to be transferred to BluePearl because they could handle critical cases whereas the Animal ER could not. It was like night and day bringing my dog here.Yolanda at the front desk at BluePearl is SO comforting, kind, helpful and goes way above and beyond, unlike Animal ER of NW Houston - they acted put out like I inconvenienced them!Dr Manion and Dr Brown (and two others I forgot to get their names) at BluePearl are all absolutely incredible and responsive! They called me every couple of hours (the doctors, not the techs) to give me updates and they even texted me pictures of my baby to reassure me since she was there a week after a blood transfusion. They even give you a number you can text the vet tech in charge of your baby, I just asked for a photo and she sent it within two minutes!!!! I had to call six times over a period of twelve hours to find out anything when she was at the Animal ER NW at 290/Meuske and they rushed me off the phone like I was bothering them! BluePearl answers all my questions and makes sure I understand everything and they are so kind and compassionate. The tech that brought my dog out to me when I picked her up after being there so long kissed her on the side of her face. ❤️I have never been to such an amazing place as BluePearl before. PLEASE DON’T MESS AROUND, BRING YOUR PET HERE!!!P.S. never give your dog the antibiotic called Simplicef!! It almost killed my dog. She had an ear infection, I gave her two doses of this killer drug and she was basically dying. I rushed her to the ER and apparently she had a very rare (documented) side effect that caused her body to attack her own red blood cells. So unless you have about $20k laying around, don’t chance it! And it’d be way more if you have a larger dog (she’s a chihuahua), so meds are less for her. I’m just thankful BluePearl was able to save her after The Animal ER NW at 290/Meuske almost let her die because “they had to enter all the charges” they could possibly think of before they would give her to me to transfer her to Blue Pearl!! THEY HELD MY DOG HOSTAGE FOR HOURS trying to find ways to not return the $5K deposit I gave them. I posted all the details on their review - they are incompetent, money hungry, heartless CRIMINALS!! THANK GOD FOR BLUEPEARL!!! 🙌❤️

I reached out to Bluepearl vet last week when it was time to say goodbye to my best friend. I could barely submit my appointment form as this was the most heartbreaking decision of my life, however; all I wanted was the absolute most comfortable experience for the dog who quite honestly saved my life. I did not want to take her to the vet, and knew that there would be a huge financial cost to have at home services, however I would do anything for her. I came across blue pearl and there were so many positive reviews, many people on Nextdoor also recommended them (however, it was multiple different business names, it seems like they keep changing ownership etc). I chose my appointment day and time, and the next 3 days spent every second with my girl, and blocked out what was coming. The day before the appointment I realized no one had even contacted me. No one had called me to go over what to expect, take payment etc. Keep in mind typically at home euthanasia services must be scheduled AHEAD of time, and my girl was continuing to decline. I reached out to blue pearl only to be told that they don’t provide at home euthanasia in Katy. (Despite their website stating different, I had to enter my address and zip code just to verify service). I was then in a horrible position scrambling to find someone last minute, and I received no apology, no explanation for why no one contacted me, nothing. For a service that is close to $1000, you would think you’d be getting the best, however there is no compassion or care towards humans and their pets and the insanely difficult decision of euthanasia.

I have been to this location before with my older dog and had quick, quality care. I took my young dog here due to seizures that had just started. The doctor was great in answering question and discussing treatment. This time the staff was not very friendly. I did get a nice text regarding my dogs care from one of the vet techs, but discharge was not compassionate or friendly and my primary vet was incorrect. The next day, I called back to make sure they corrected my primary vet and the person was rude and acted like it was my fault I gave them the wrong information. However, I gave them the clinic and doctors names all my pets see on a regular basis, but they entered it incorrectly. I am just trying to make sure my vet gets the records like they did the last time I brought my dog there. Nobody needs the attitude after worrying about their pet.

It took me a while to write this review. Read the previous reviews and if you have a bad feeling about this please follow your instinct. My dog was hospitalized here for pneumonia in March. They wanted to do extra procedures and my pet was not given the right course of antibiotics. They just care about the money and they suggested extra services that would jeopardize my dogs life. I had a bad feeling and took my pet to my regular vet. He suggested gulf coast veterinary specialist and they saved my pets life. Plus they were very caring and they had all the technology and resources. Plus they were cheaper than blue pearl. My dog would not had made it if I left her at blue pearl.

Exceptional experience. Second time going there. Friendly staff and minimal wait time. The vet took time to listen to my concerns and thoroughly explained everything in detail. She also consulted with me the treatment plan before proceeding with treatment. The waiting area is also very welcoming.

Our beloved Pewee passed away. I rushed him to the hospital but he just didn't make it. The technician came running outside (curbside due to COVID19) to take him and see if they could do something but there was nothing to be done. He was already stiff when I arrived. They were very nice during this heartbreaking event. The next steps was to think about his burial. We decided to cremate him. The package was reasonably priced and included his ashes and a paw print. I had a similar experience before at another hospital with another pet that passed away due to old age and they didn't treat me this nice. It's been hard, emotionally, but everyone at Blue Pearl was very caring and honestly, this memory of him, especially his paw print, brings tears to my eyes.I am also glad they added a pamphlet about coping with the loss of a pet because it is devastating.I know there are a lot of comments about pricing but you have to remember, they are open 24/7. I personally didn't find it expensive but for other procedures it may be different since you have the convenience of stopping by without an appointment and getting your pet treated in an emergency.

If you are not able to deal with the choice between paying thousands of dollars for just diagnostic testing or putting your pet down this is not the place for you. This place made me feel that my pet would not last the drive to another business since I decided to leave and yet he is himself again and thriving thanks to the care of another vet. Take the time to research other vets in the area if thousands is not in your budget, you will be surprised what they could help you with. I brought my sisters cat in that was open mouth breathing, drooling, not himself, and perhaps vomiting. The doctor suspected aspiration pneumonia but needed to do diagnostics and supportive care and claimed it would start from 2.2-3 thousands dollars since he was oxygen dependent. He mentioned the other alternative was euthanasia and briefly discussed the options. I later got clarification on the prices for euthanasia which was also out of my price range. They were charging about $500 if I wanted to euthanize him and cremate him. Then they surprised me after I relayed the message to my sister that if I wanted to actually take home the ashes with me it would cost about $850. I was obviously upset and relayed I can't afford that either and was discussing options with my sibling and we decided to look into another vet that was half the price if euthanasia truly was necessary (it was not, he is thriving currently.) As I was on the phone with another location, one of the other employees tried interrupting my conversation and claimed they are now willing to be flexible with the pricing and that he is not doing well back there and that we need to make a decision. I ignored her while I scheduled with the other clinic and when I came up to the counter the receptionist lady also told me the same thing. That they can work with me but I can't keep the ashes. I said no thank you, we are taking him somewhere else and she claimed he would not make it somewhere else and that I am taking him AMA. Upon getting to the other location they were shocked that my only 2 options were thousands of dollars or euthanasia for a relatively healthy cat that is only 2 years old that was currently being loving and not in distress. His x-ray did not even show pneumonia or masses, so paying 2.2-3k would have only been the beginning had I stayed at that location even if I could afford it. If you love your pet, avoid this place. It is heartbreaking that there is places that take advantage of your vulnerability.

We had to take one of our dogs in early morning. He was vomiting and had bloody diarrhea. Blue Pearl Katy took care of him very well. He had to stay overnight and it was expensive but he was in good care. They kept updating his condition with pictures. It was a big relief for us. They prepared a room with blankets for our dog to lie down when we visited to see him. We spent some time with him comfortably.Veterinarians, nurses and front staff were very kind.Thank you so much!

I'm grateful they took care of unblocking my cat in an emergency when the ERs near my area where at capacity. When he almost got blocked again 4 days later I called to see if they had space to see him. They where very short and sounded annoyed i had called to asked. I decided to take him to another ER.( glad i did take him to the another ER they showed more concerned of what was is happening to my cat and were patient to explain everything) I wasn't aware they had sent urine samples for testing until they called today. They again where so rude and seem like they where so troubled and annoyed at having to call me to give me the rest results. That's they only reason they get low stars from me.. they way some of their staff does customer service is less than desirable

I cannot even begin to express my deepest gratitude for Dr. Ullah, his Vet tech (i am sorry i didnt catch her name), and the front desk lady, Monica. I have used this location many times, due to having a dog with heart failure, and Dr. Ullah is the kindest, and most informational Vet i have ever met. He takes the time to explain, ask questions, and advise. He has always been incredible, but this time i visited with a "non" emergency, as i had forgotten to refill my dogs heart medication. He checked my pup Louis, gave me some incredible advise and information, and got me the meds that i needed. He really went above and beyond what i expected to go in for, and could not be more grateful. This team made me cry from their thoughtfulness, love towards my pup, and made my whole day. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. It does not go unnoticed.

I woke up on Sunday and something was wrong with my dog so we rushed over to Blue Pearl and they were great. Saw the vet quickly, did some tests, diagnosed the issue and talked through costs for treatment. My dog is better now, and if the need arises we’ll definitely go back there again!

November 28, 2023. My 2 year old cat Gremlin, started mouth breathing and drooling and appeared to be ill. My family took Gremmy (my cat) to Blue Pearl Vet for me, as i am in Colorado right now for work. The vets suspected aspiration pneumonia but needed to do diagnostics and supportive care, and since Gremmy was oxygen dependent they informed us that it would be around 2k-3k just to start. I unfortunately don’t have that type of money. So the only other option Blue Pearl suggested for us was EUTHANASIA. It would have been $500 for the euthanasia and cremation and another $400 just to KEEP the ASHES. I- (believing my cat had no chance to live) -reached out to other places to compare prices for euthanasia services. Because these prices for those services were outrageous. Luckily we found a more affordable option for euthanasia and cremation. At another vet place, they would let us keep the ashes, and even offered to do paw print services. All for significantly less. As we were trying to leave Blue Pearl they finally decided to try and work with us but at that point we were so emotionally exhausted with this place. I wish blue were willing to genuinely care and work with us from the very beginning without money being their only motive. The Vets at blue were telling us that if we take Gremlin now he will not make it to the other businesses and that he’ll suffer due to him already being oxygen dependent. I felt selfish for wanting to have my family leave and be willing to take that chance. No matter what happened, “at least my Gremmy would be with my family” I thought to myself. ….We signed an Against Medical Advice form. and we took Gremmy and left. Upon arrival of the other location, the vets there were genuinely concerned about Gremmy’s well being and it showed that our business was not about the money. They were genuinely concerned about him especially with him being so young only 2 years. At this new location they were willing to exhaust other options with out jumping to the extreme of euthanasia and without financially crippling us. They ran radiographs, vitals, examined him and all these other services as well as provided antibiotics for him all for a more affordable price. They even offered financial options. Gremlin is at home now, doing much better and practically jumping off the walls again. He is a happy boy. Im happy we decided to take our business elsewhere. I can’t imagine the grief my family and i would have felt if we were to have trusted and listen to what the vets at blue pearl were telling us to do. At a time where one is most vulnerable it felt awful to have these medical professionals, tell me that the only option we had was an extreme, due to my financial circumstances.

Whyyyyyyyy did I trust these people with my pet or my money. Over 1200 dollars for X-rays, blood work and doc visit only for my pup to feel worse than he did the day he was seen. I was told before I left to watch over my pup and if his condition didn’t improve to call within 24 hours and there would be no additional costs. So I called and the fee that I was quoted was over $700 because they need to redo X-rays and send them to someone else for evaluation…You have got to be joking. You scammed me once but will never do it again. And then the nurse (she called herself a nurse but she is actually a vet tech) had the nerve to call me back to say she wanted to clear up the miscommunication… no miscommunication took place. She said she said the exam was no cost. Never did she ever say the word exam. Why would I call them less than 24 hrs later for a free office visit…. ? Why would I drive more than 20 miles to pay another $700 plus dollars for an xray that would need to be sent out. Please help me understand !!! The cost of the drive to the location alone is more than the exam. lying, lies, thieves…and I hope NO ONE ELSE PAYS BEFORE READING THIS!!!. I’m not just leaving a report on google, I’m filing a complaint with the board of veterinary medical examiners with this one…Update: my pup’s vet said that they would never be able to see if ate anything bad with a regular xray… they recommended an xray for my concerns, that he ate something he should not have eaten and was throwing up foreign matter. Instead of telling me that what they recommended would not properly diagnose him, they charge me for an xray that would not tell them what his problem was… so all in all, they led me to believe that the course of action they suggested would be beneficial when it was NOT and it absolutely did nothing to help him but caused me to spend over 1200 dollars. Never again would I trust an ER vet, scam, thieves, and liars…My vet showed me what they should have done and guess what. He pooped out what he ate with the help of our vet. Al in all water time and money with BluePearl
