Such a neat boutique! A variety of items to browse.My favorite part, undoubtedly was the six cats in the store. I was so busy playing with them I got distracted from shopping. This adorable kitten, Stormy, made a beeline right for me and was so sweet!The worker was extremely helpful even telling us about town events and information.

Made in the shade is a fun little place that I’d recommend all Jefferson visitors to check out!It’s got your typica tourist souvenir classics like tshirts and magnets but with its own unique flair.I enjoyed all the personality in the decorations and the items they sell.The coolest part is that you can “mine” for fossils and gemstones! Go into the store and buy a bag (looks like sand, but as you sift it out, treasures appear!) the small bags are $10 each but I’d recommend the “motherlode” which is about $27 including tax but you get a TON of cool crystals and fossils! A very fun activity for kids or grownups :)

Neat little shop with some alternative stuff. Lots of witchy, crystals, hooka bongs and all. Additionally there is a huge courtyard for bands, commerce, and public speaking. Theres fool sruff for kids like a mining and panning area.

Great place! Amazing shop, from trinkets, and metal art, to men's and women's fashion, with kayak rentals, and a sluice box experience for the kids to boot! Not to mention the great parties they throw in the courtyard, and two absolutely wonderful owners! Wes and Angie are truly amazing people, and a compliment to the historic town of Jefferson! My hat's off to you! (My hat that I bought there!)

I love this place! It’s a glitzy little boutique with gypsy vibes and lots of really neat accessories! I got the cutest pair of retro sunglasses here almost a year ago and I still wear them. My husband and I bring our kiddos here all the time to do the Mining and we love it just as much as they do! Also, if you even get to meet Buddy the dog, give him a good head pat for me :)

We rented a canoe today from this shop and they were beyond courteous. Very nice people!! Super cute stuff inside the shop as well. We had such a good experience with them and so much fun on the bayou. We highly recommend them. If you've never done business with them, you're missing out. We will most definitely be back and look forward to it!!

Fun little shop to stop at and peruse their inventory. The in house made soap is awesome! Friendly staff and their helpers (Milo and Buddy) were very kind as well. My wife and I look forward to our next stop there!

I have never given a 1 star review to any business until now. I will say the shop looked well stocked and interesting but we were in Jefferson with friends ready to tour the town in one of their golf carts we had reserved. I have a painful knee at present and made the walk from our B&B to pick up the cart a few minutes prior to the reserved time only to be told they didn’t have a cart available. Excuses were that one broke down and the other one wasn’t back because of the delay in leaving etc. They did not call me to tell me that a cart was not available although they had my number. So..we left and started walking and taking in the sites in the area. We were blocks away when they called to say a cart was now available. I could not make the walk back so I declined but was not happy about the entire situation. I was told when I made the reservation to be sure and call them if we were not going to rent the cart. They should have given me the same courtesy.

Angie has a fabulous store packed with beautiful things. An adorable courtyard featuring live music, artisan shows, and private parties. Kayak and canoe rentals, and they will pick you up and drop you at the bayou. And if that is not enough she can also repair your lamp!

I absolutely love going shopping at Made in the Shade.Angie has a small but good selection of antique furniture but her real talent is picking up fabulous antique and reproduction jewelry, and some mighty fine linens. For the past year she has been selling some of the most fun clothing around. The pieces are very feminine with a vintage look and feel to them, they are very comfortable to wear. She carries sizes that fit the real woman and smaller.While you are in the shop be sure to see her lampshades she has refurbished and the stain-glass hanging around the walls.As far as service goes you will be pleased to know that Angie and her staff are always smiling and happy to help.
