Unfortunately this is one place you need to double check expiration dates in items. And avoid the meat dept. Had plenty of packages of different beef cuts green. And as we know beef should never be green out for sale. And some ground beef that looked like it was a 50/50 blend more white than anything else. As much as I'd like to support a local grocery store even with higher prices than competition. Can't support a place that is famous for out of date merch and a horrible meat department

So, there aren't many places in Jarrell to buy groceries. If it's not Brookshire Brothers, it's either Dollar General, one of the many convenience stores in the area, or drive to Georgetown. Or Instacart, I guess. Or Uber Eats, that too. Or... OK, I'm getting sidetracked. Where was I?Brookshire Brothers is a small store. They don't have a HUGE selection of items. They do have a GOOD selection, though. If you're looking for fresh stuff - meat, fish, produce, etc. - well, it ain't great. Although, they DO have a deli with prepared food - chicken and stuff - that's REALLY good. Go have lunch there.It's kind of expensive here. $5.50 for a gallon of milk seems a little weird.Everybody here is nice. Even the least enthusiastic employees are still polite and nice and helpful. Plus, my very first job was at a grocery store a million years ago, so I know there are just some days where even the most outgoing, friendly employee just isn't feeling it. I get you, guys. I get you.To sum up - there's plenty of room for improvement but, overall, I like this place. Unless they don't have something I need, I don't mind getting my groceries here.

This store is always clean and the have friendly customer service, however, more often than not their produce isn’t fresh. They do have some good deals sometimes.

I am a very frequent shopper here, over the past two years as it is right outside the neighborhood. During this time, I have had my opinion vary between rating. I can say the prices are higher than any other store I have shopped at. For the most part, employees are nice. I have noticed that it's been many new faces, seems as if turn over has become a bigger problem. I say that to say this, I have had questions on products & questions about pricing, usually because there is no label. In which, each one recently has had no clue an answer. In addition, looking into fhe information is the for sure not automatically offered. I had a situation happen recently where a cashier totally messed up my purchase, but it was cigarettes and nowhere helps you, once you purchased & realize later... it's a done deal. So, I am not sure, I honestly am torn between 2-3 MAYBE a 4 rate at this moment.

I am & will always rate at 5+ & then some . Your customer service is impeccable. You do such a great job I just wish you were able to keep Limburger Cheese in stock all the time. I bought the whole case last time & I'll buy case at a time every time you have it. THANK YOU

This is an ok grocery to pick up necessities and possibly an only grocery if you don't eat a wide array of food. They carry the basics. Interestingly they even carry basic gluten free foods. It's good to have them here, especially in a pinch, like a storm or because you're sick. They aren't big on dairy free but do carry some alternative milks. Veggies look clean and fresh. Not a lot of fish.They also have a discount program that's probably worth it.I noticed this time they have some gluten free bread, schar. A good choice. They also have one of the best gf white cakes I have tasted.

Well, went there and told a worker about old dounuts containing water in the bag. She took the one bag out of all bags containing water and mold gave it to her boss and left all the others and went back to work. This has alot of old products and needs management to come into store and check products.

The store is always clean, stocked and full of friendly people. However, being a smaller store, there isn’t a whole lot of selection, which is frustrating because we’ve got our “staples” and have to go to HEB for them so we just go to HEB for everything. Also, the prices are a bit higher than your bigger box chains. If the quality selection was available, I may not mind the higher prices.

I find myself passing through Jarrell Texas on my way to Boerne Texas and being just a little bit hungry. I remembered how much I like Brookeshire brothers fried chicken and found this location.I am not disappointing! The chicken is awesome in the service I received from the manager of the delicatessen, Bryce, was what you hope to find these days.He is a very accommodating young man with a passion for his job. And his passion shows with his desire to satisfy this customer. I don’t know if he’s up for a raise but if I were the manager that young man we get a nice promotion. Well done sir!

For a small town store I can't complain. They usually have what I need or some close enough version of it. I would highly suggest checking the expiration dates on everything, even the cans. The staff is usually friendly and helpful. Before walking in lower your expectations, a little lower... there you go. It's no HEB but it'll do.Update: They have recently hired on more people and are keeping more registers open and rotating stock more often. A huge difference in what I've seen in the previous months. It seems they are working hard to keep up with the growing community.

Cashier Isaac is very rude. Can’t even get a simple Hello. I have been there only 3 times and normally all cashiers are this way. Very disappointing. Nice small grocery store.

When you first walk into the store you get to see the bakery and all the sweets and eats that you can think of. Then a huge variety of vegetables and fruits! The meats are plentiful! Prices can vary though from a little overpriced to just perfect, but it is a small town so it’s to be excepted. They have a huge selection of frozen foods and beer. They even have shampoo and little things that one might need for daily things! The people who work here are always friendly, so recommend coming here for anything!

Rating a 1 star because I seen the cashier 'Jackie' not sure if male or female walk into the women's restroom and it looks like a man. Not good for a family grocery store if you even have to question that.

I grew up in another small town where Brookshire's was the only store for miles long before moving to the "big city" in a few other states. Now that I've moved back to a small town, going to this Brookshire's has to be the best, hands down. With the exception of a few things we venture into Georgetown for, we find all of our grocery shopping needs here.The staff is extremely friendly and very welcoming, I feel like I am home when I shop here - which is fantastic for a new resident to the area. The produce that I have seen is phenomenal, especially compared to other small town grocers, and the selection of meats is always fantastic.

Vegetables are rarely fresh and over priced. I stopped buying vegetables and fruits there regardless of being in a pinch because I got tired of over paying only to throw it in the garbage because its rotten when you cut into it. Also, check the expiration dates! Frequently items are expired and still on the shelf or in the fridge section for purchase. Poor selection of healthy breads; just the basics overall. Meat is grossly over priced and quality is sub par. Close too early. They do have some decent items there in a pinch for sure.

I can't wait until there's an HEB here. These cashiers can't get off their phones long enough to give you a proper greeting. Every single time I go there, it's like this. I only go there if it's absolutely necessary.

It is great having a local 'supermarket' in our local small town. The prices are much higher than an HEB but they are handy. A great selection of fruits and veggies, good selection of meats, and good selection of frozen items. I am glad they are here.
