I just took my son to a Father-Son Weekend and it was AWESOME! My son and I absolutely loved it and we can't wait to go back. Friday night, we fished and he played legit laser tag with all the other kids. On Saturday morning, he got to go horseback riding and try riflery. We went for a hike up to the Camp La Junta sign, which he really liked. The only thing he didn't like was the waterslide, but he's young and it's pretty fast into the water. The rope swing was really fun too. The Dads versus Sons dodgeball was also entertaining and fun. On Sunday, he got to do more fishing, archery and then he loved the rock climbing wall. I thought the food was pretty good and I really enjoyed the burgers on Saturday night. The owner Scott and his staff were very nice and great with all of the kids. We'll definitely be back, it was a great bonding moment for us!

I just went on a father/son camp for the weekend. Let me just WARN you. DO NOT GO! I repeat this place is a nightmare!!!! Sleeping cabins disgusting!!! You are on your own to find anything out. Staff/unknowledgeable children don't give any guidance to what to do or go on their property. You’re on your own. They say they provide drinks/snacks throughout the day? More like drink out of a hose and expect to eat expired frozen cheap old ice cream sandwiches gross! Who wants that in the middle of the day? We had to drink water from a 50 gallon drum? Open to the elements, disgusting!!! The cabins are filthy and I mean filthy!!! The toilets on the site were like portocans filthy. Showers worse than any locker room with no hot water. Food awful! I didn't just grab my son and leave we ran!!!! 0/10 DO NOT GO HERE OR SEND YOUR CHILDREN if you care about their health!!!

My brother went to CLJ as a kid. His kids go to camp longhorn and I asked him where should send my son and said, CAMP LA JUNTA! And he was right! It was the perfect match for my high energy wild child. It’s the perfect place to let boys be boys. He was asked today what his best memory of the summer was and he said Camp La Junta! Definitely will be going back next year!

I go for my school trip sometimes, I stay about a week and I’m always fed, happy and love the activities! I’ve witnessed people not being able to swim but the people are always kind about it and never judge you!

Camp La Junta is a wonderful camp for boys! My husband and his brother attended as children. My son has attended for the past 5 years and will continue to go as long as he can! He lives for summer so he can go back to camp! I would recommend Camp La Junta ten times over! My son has gained so much in the areas of responsibility and independence. I wish I would not have hesitated and let him go at a younger age! Don’t be that mom! Send your son! It is the best gift you can give him! Life is good, Camp is Better.

My kids love this place! My uncle and cousin both attended this camp and it has been a wonderful experience for not only my boys but for us. The owners of the camp are accommodating and they care about each and every kid. The values and lessons they learn each summer are things they can take through life and be better people in this world. Thanks for all you do!!! CLJ forever!!!

Our son attended La Junta for four years. Sadly, other sports commitments prevented him from continuing through middle and high school. At the time we lived in a city, so there weren't as many opportunities to just be a boy and enjoy the outdoors. La Junta gave him those valuable experiences. I also know that many of the friendships he made while there will last the rest of his life. Great camp, great counselors and ideal location.

My boys have gone to La Junta for 11 years and can't wait to go back every summer. They've made incredible memories and friends for life, while learning how to become independent young men, and positive role models for others. Can't recommend enough!

It's clear very early when arriving at Camp LaJunta they have been educating young men for generations. The staff, facilities, activities and overall atmosphere is positive and only interested in growing and improving the experience and character of their young boys who will grow into men. Many time other parents comment on the maturity and confidence both my sons possess. And I never hesitate to give CLJ the credit. It a jewel in the Texas Hill Country and an adventure every summer my sons will value forever.

CLJ is a great place for boys to go to camp. I went there in the 1980's and I have 2 sons who go there. If you want your boys to grow up to be well rounded responsible members of society then this is the place you should send them.

This is the most influential place of my whole life both as a camper and a counselor. I met some of my best friends that I will have for life at this camp. If you are looking for a place for your son to grow into a man this is the place to send them. This is the greatest place on earth

This camp is dangerous! Counselors drink alcohol on property! Frequently, counselors are arrested for alcohol infractions then returned to the camp following their arrest rather than sent home. Camp owner Blake Smith didn’t even report the sexual assault of a camper to state authorities as he was legally required to do. Don’t walk away from this camp - RUN!
