I didn't feel welcomed in their store as I searched for exotic fish for my new retail space nearby. Not one hello or hi, but I don't know why I'm surprised. Others who look like me have written reviews stating the same thing. I just wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I wasted 8 minutes of my time trying to give this small business my $$$. But thankfully the wonderful people at PetSmart were able to assist me and they had a cleaner store.

Here from Kansas City. We pulled up right as the owner was leaving for a family function. But! I am so happy to see a business man taking time for his family. Super nice guy! Took time to chat for a moment. We will definitely come visit next time we are down here.

Went in to pick up something’s for my aquarium, right when I walked in felt welcomed and very comfortable. The owner helped me out with all my questions I had, the tanks were clean and very well maintained. If you have not already went in to check it out I highly recommend doing so.

Friendly and knowledgeable employees. Clean store that was pleasant to walk around and look at everything without being overwhelmed with odors. Competitive prices and good, growing selection. Definitely consider them when you are looking for stuff for your fish and reptiles.

The new owner (since April), is very nice, very friendly, and eager to please. He's currently re configuring the shop, so it looks a little messy, but I have hopes that he will be able to have a nice shop in the near future. He had the hard to find food item that I went in there for. I will be back.

Just got a bearded dragon there tonight! Payed in almost all quarters, so staff was very patient while I counted it out! Named him butter ball and he’s now a happy lil dude!

Honestly where do I start.. THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST.. AND HERES WHY..1 I went to petsmart with my daughter and she wanted a fish as her first pet. She loved the glofish.. So I asked them what do I need? They sent me home (all same day) with a 15 gallon glofish complete tank setup,5 glofish tetras a coryfish and a snail ,food amd water softener THEY TOLD ME ADD IT TO DOSTILLED WATER DROP FISH FOR 20 MIN THEN ITD BE GOOD TO GO... LIES LIES AND MORE LIES.. I REACHED OUT TO THESE PEOPLE DESPERATE .. IN 4 HRS ID LOST 4 FISH INFRONT OF MY DAUGHTER ( SHES 5 FIRST DEATH EVER ENCOUNTER) THEY HAVE A DIRECT CHAT( it's on their website they even answered after hours great SERVICE) I SENT PICS OF MY TEST STRIPS EXPLAINED AND INSTANTLY THEY REPLied .. " I think you have ammonia." TO bring them some water I did sure enough I had 'new tank syndrome ' ( no bacteria good or bad because of distilled water tank could not establish) they sent me home with written instructions and the right chemicals .. and instantly from the first day my sirv8ving fish started to move again.. even my snail 🐌 SOO THANKFUL MY TANK ISNT READY FOR MORE FISH TILL WENDSDAY BUT I AM SO HAPPY THIS TIME THE FISH WILL ACTUALLY HAVE A CHANCE... GIVE EVAN A SHOT DUDE IS LIKE THE " FISH WHISPERER".. I think I might ( with their help) upgrade to a 20 gallon freshwater with real plants . Once I get that I wanna make a Nemo tank ( but I need experience with those first. As far as CLEANLINESS it look very well put together I didn't encounter any dust on merchandise. ALL THERE FISH WERE WELL KEPT plants ( live) looked healthy.. I didn't see any other analysis but the fish ( but that's literally what I came for so) they do not carry glofish( and will not due to a patent ) but that's fine I'm really interested in some guppies or Molly's to make tankmates ( and another coryfish) Evans partner was very friendly ( AND THIS WAS OUR FIRST MEET ) I FELL IN LOVE WITH ( I THINK THEY NAMED HIM NORMAN) HES A RED DEVIL THAT HAD BEEN RETURN CUS HE WAS HONRY BUT I SAID " HEY JUST NEEDED LOVE" HE WAS QUITE THE HOST.. BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL FISH.. ANGELFISH GALORE AND ALL LOOK GREAT. I SAW MOLLYS BUT AFTER ASKING IF THEY HAD THE POTBELLY MOLLYS HE EXPLAINED THEY HAVE ORGAN TROUBLE DUE TO THEIR STRUCTURE SO THEY DONT CARRY THEM( UNDERSTANDABLE I JOKED THAT I BET ITD BE HARD TO TELL IF THEY WERE BEING OVERFED I KNOW CORNY BUT THEY LAUGHED AT MY MOM JOKE SO KUDOS) I really look forward to staying with this store and it's owners. I mightve explored had I not been in desperate need of a antidote to my tank.. but well have everything cleared up and fingercrossed wendsday when tank is retested ill get my fishy friend anew school to play with..

Poor care of animals in store that are on display, which makes me worried about what you can’t. Hamsters with no visible food available were fighting over eating a dead baby while a second was being attacked. Shameful.Update to owner: if you can’t find what I saw after being in your store that’s a problem. I included a picture with this post to show it. You only had a few tanks of hamsters visible. And no it was not just at open, this was on my lunch. So after 12 at minimum. I specifically remember having to go back to work after seeing that, even two years ago. If you can’t maintain your animals well enough to prevent cannibalism, you shouldn’t have them.

Wednesday I took my Dog to get groomed at PFP and to my surprise it had new owners and the store was clean organized and the people were welcoming and friendly was a breath of fresh air.I’m so glad Miss Theresa stayed with new owner as she is one of the best groomers I have had in Tx and my Chewy got the best new look.I highly recommend y’all check out the new store if you have been there before you are in for a good surprise, I’m so happy it has changed I’ll be back again.

Paradise Fish and Pets is under new management. I had a mediocre experience in the past, but that's completely changed. The new owner is knowledgeable, but not afraid to look up something he doesn't know, unlike a lot of my past experiences have been when people who work at a pet store don't know something and just make things up in order to make a sale. The fish and plants looked very healthy and well cared for. He also ordered an assortment of male endler's livebearers for me so I can pick some out, which I very much appreciate. Paradise Fish and Pets has become my new favorite local fish store! Definitely check them out if you're in the fishkeeping hobby!

I hadn't been to this store in months, but when I walked in, I had to step out and make sure I was in the right store. It looked totally different from when I had been there last. The guy there was very friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. I enjoyed my experience and would definitely be back.

The workers are very friendly and helpful. Great selection of everything you need for a fishtank. Which includes but not limited too fish, plants, lights, fish food, and beneficial bacteria. Employees are very knowledgeable as a first time fish keeper I highly recommend this place

This place completely blows every other pet and bird place out of the waterThe Owner and staff was phenomenal. I had almost given up my long and arduous search for a baby Love Bird, whom I adopted from them a couple day's ago...well, a picture is worth a 1,000 words...

I went there to purchase my daughter a parakeet and myself a bird I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted yet. First of all I was greeted on entry and the staff asked what I was looking for and made sure I was taken care of while I was deciding they were not pushy but made sure every now and again that I didn’t have any questions. The only pushy person in the store was the Macaw who insisted that I speak with them. I don’t impulse buy and I had checked all the local pet stores in the area the day before and paradise does have the best prices out of anybody else in the Humble area for supplies. As far as birds they had a decent selection their prices were on average as far as birds but they had babies which no one else had at the time . The staff was very knowledgeable and polite and since they are right up the street from me I look forward to doing buisness with them for many years to come.

I walked out of a restaurant near by and saw a pet store and randomly decided to stop in to browse real quick. As soon as my friend and I walked in we were met with a disgruntled, no eye contact, "we close in 5 minutes". I brushed it off thinking he was tired and or had a rough day. So, I walk around, take a quick look (yes there is a seemingly reasonable variety of birds etc). Well, I'm a bird lover and I noticed a macaw, I got excited so I walked around to the counter to engage in conversation about this bird (really hoping to help lighten his mood and create a nice rapport). What I was met with was a demeanor which was rude and apathetic and on his phone, while I asked questions. I even considered that he has aspergers.. yall it was very bad and I was putting on my waitress nice face etc because I really wanted to give benefit of the doubt and come back. I think he thought me connecting with him about his macaw was me passively aggressively saying he wasn't taking care of them. He literally told me all parrots need is just food.. anyone who does even light research no exaggeration knows parrots need stimulation. When he pointed that out and I thought back I then realized I saw no toys in any of the bird cages.. even petsmart does that. I spoke with him and he got very defensive and pointed out his own flaws. It seems obvious others have tried correcting him but he just doesn't believe birds need more. I was under the impression the macaw might go home at night with him bc it's not on sale (i wouldnt know because he clearly didnt want to talk). In short, customer service is horrible, I really never say this, even for so so service but it really was very bad especially because the older man I was talking to was indeed the owner.Furthermore his responses to the low reviews clearly display his pettiness and overall character.

I went in with my toddler just to look around we have been debating on getting a pet recently. My son was a little scared of the snakes and the gentlemen working there went out of his way to help him feel comfortable. He showed him the snakes and even put one on his head lol after leaving my son talked about it for days. His fear of snakes are gone and it looks like we will be getting one in the future. We will definitely be purchasing from here. It’s not a chain business and you can tell by the care that goes into the customer service!

Nothing but the best experience purchasing fish and accessories from this store. From small schoolers to discus, the fish are beautiful and super healthy. The staff is friendly and always accessible. The Humble area is very fortunate to have such a great pet store. See for yourself!

Omg where do I start?? The most NICEST most PATENT people ever! We came in with my toddler to see which pet he would like more. Now even though he was only into the fish, they pulled every trick in the book to see if he was into something else. At the end of the day he caught some interest in a rock haha! Im sad to be moving from Texas but I would have LOVED to make a purchase if I would have still been here. I wish this company the MOST success!

The store has a new owner and he is making some changes. He just started and it looks so much better. It is open and not cluttered like before. Theresa is an excellent groomer and takes care of our Maltese Lily. She always looks and smells so good when I pick her up after her appointment. They are very professional and I would not trust anyone else to take care of her the way Theresa does. I highly recommend Paradise Fish And Pets.

This place is near where I live and yet we intentionally went to Kingwood for our exotic pet needs for the last 2 years because we just could not support this place. But on a whim, I went by today and noticed a sign that said under new ownership. From the moment I walked in, I could tell that the new owner had a much better vision of the place than the previous owner. He took the time to chat with me for awhile and shared his vision. I’m super hopeful! New owner is a super nice guy and obviously cares about the welfare of animals as much as he cares about his store being profitable. I told him about some products that the store never had and wasn’t willing to carry under the previous owner and he assured me he would do whatever he could to carry those products or order them for me. I really liked the direction he was going with rearranging the place and making updates as well. Atascocita needs an ethical exotic pet store, so I am very much looking forward to supporting this store again and its new owner!

I love this pet store. The new owner Evan is my son. Evan, Lisa and so many volunteers have worked countless hours into making this a store the customers feel welcome to come to. New products arriving daily. Evan is very knowledgeable and passionate about helping everyone from beginner to the experienced. The staff are so friendly. The groomer Teresa does excellent work with the puppies and adult dogs. She is an artist who does a wonderful job with the pets coming into the shop. Each one is treated with respect and given the loving care you’d expect. Children are especially welcome to come see the smaller animals and have a hands on experience.. Family friendly and everyone is welcome.

My husband and I randomly stumbled upon this store and met the new owners. They were really friendly! They had cute little angora bunnies, lots of fish and aquatic plants! They plan to make changes for the store and I can’t wait to visit the store again to see the new changes or just to talk to Trish as it was lovely talking to her!

I want to like this family owned store, my problems comes from the inordinate amount of signs presenting an unfriendly impression. For example the sign that currently sits outside that says "no window shopping." is odd as impulse buyers or people who would like to compare their inventory and prices to big chain stores can be put off by that. I also question store employees who hover over you while your browsing. They do have a nice selection if aquarium decorations. But not allowing returns or exchanges on a defective product is also a bad practice.

I came in today with my girls to see what they had in the way of hand fed baby birds and 20 minutes later we walked out with Priscilla after learning how to feed her. She is already so sweet. We are so pleased. This is a great family owned business.

I love this place! I’ve taken my dog to Theresa, who’s the groomer and every time I pick up my sweet little girl, she’s always fluffy and beautiful! Also, the customer service is top notch! Was hesitant to come here , I read the negative reviews but I also read the store was under new management so I decided to give it a try and I’m glad I did , the new owner was super nice and helpful, you can tell he’s doing his best to change the reputation. The new owner is so knowledgeable about anything aquatic! He is so passionate about educating people about the nitrogen cycle and is extremely patient with all the questions new hobbyists have. Even though the new management just took place, the owner is already working with some of the biggest names in the aquarium hobby, for both fish AND plants! Planted tanks and Aquascaping is a passion of the owner as well! I learned so much just from talking to him, and I’ve been a hobbyist for years! Go visit the store, ask questions, you will not be disappointed!
