This is our new favorite local place to get our meat! We live in Anna, but we found Don's Smokehouse on a trip to our barber next door.After being surprised about how reasonable their prices are, we decided to give them a try.We were blown away! After living in an area that didn't have a butcher that was conveniently close, we had forgotten how good fresh meat from a butcher really was.Definitely take the time to stop by and give them a try. Their employees are all extremely friendly too!

Oh my… I may have found a little slice of Heaven. Dropped in on a whim before my haircut, bought some home style sausage links, just grilled them up with a fresh corn tortilla and wow!!! The natural flavor of this is perfect for a sausage wrap. Don and I are now officially BFFs. Oh, and his prices mean everyone else can be eating Chuck… I’m dining well!

Steve, Stacy and team are what we call “good people” here in Texas. They are always eager to assist or answer any questions. They always have great quality and cuts of meat, cheeses and jerky. Can't tell you how pleased we are with finding this place. Amazing freezer pack deals. I'll never purchase meat from anyone ever again. Everything we've gotten from them (beef, pork, chicken, sausage, cheese, and more) has been amazing for the price. So fresh and tender and just perfect. The ordering and customization process for the packs is very easy. Staff is so friendly and great at their jobs, and the place is very clean. Don't have a single complaint.

Found these guys at a Pasadena gun show and out of all of the stalls they had the best value. Best purchase I made at the gun show was buying some of their jerky. Recently made an online order for some bear jerky, xxx sticks, turkey jerky, and sausage. They shipped free and shipped the next day. All of the options tasted great and I use the sausage as a wonderful meat for fried rice. Greatly recommend don's smokehouse and if you stop by or find them at a gun show you should pick up a few packs of jerky.

This is the only place I buy meat! With inflation and lower quality meats at Walmart, Kroger, and other grocery stores, Don’s is the only place I trust nowadays. The prices and the quality are unmatched! I recently got my Christmas prime rib from here and it came out perfect. I also only buy bacon from here, the price and quality is better than anything from Walmart. Don and his staff are always friendly and look like hard workers.

I really like this place. They have top notch customer service and their jerky taste like heaven in the mouth. Many different flavors that all taste good.Here's a review of the flavors I've triedXXX Hot - Very good for hot food lovers. Imagine just the right heat that still has flavor.Turkey - It's nice and tender. Flavor is very comfortable in the mouth. Great for kids and all other ages.Pepper Steak - Your classic jerky. Flavor is awesome and get this: it doesn't pull your teeth our when you take a bite like other jerky brands if you know what I mean.Jalapeno & Cheddar - Your classic jerky again and has excellent flavor. Very mouth watering when I'm near itI could go on about all the flavors I've had from these guys but I rather just recommend this place to anyone for any meat/cheese/food needs. As a side note I found out this place is Gluten free!!!

Bacon is very good but not as good as the Troyer bacon (amish bacon). Their sausage links arent too good its mixed with pork and beef, not a fan. Our dogs loved it. Freezer pack prices are very good and reasonable. The employees are friendly.

WOW!!! What an incredible place. A WALL of all types of jerky to choose from and a case of fresh meat. We bought jerky, ribeye steaks, ground beef, and bacon. The prices are very good. And the quality is incredible. The jerky is so delicious. The owners are friendly and helpful. The place is exceptionally clean. We definitely recommend this place.

We love Don's Smokehouse. We first enjoyed their summer sausage and cheese at a gun show in Mesquite and were hooked. We loved it so much that we have ordered from them several times after that. We even had trays made for our wedding and everyone loved it. I suggest them to all of our friends. I'm fixing to order a basket to send to my sister-in-law in California so that she can experience the goodness.

Recommended by a family member, I went here to pick up some steaks for Mother's Day. Don's is a small, unassuming place with enough room for maybe three customers by pandemic standards, five or six comfortably otherwise. The largest wall is devoted to jerky - many and varied types of jerky. Im no jerky connoisseur, but lots of meats, flavors and heat levels. And they have bear jerky - you just gotta respect that, right? I wish I had gotten some, but decided to just try the steak my first time around. They also offer some smoked cheeses and house made summer sausage (found these on the website) and specialty items. The jalapeno poppers caught my eye, but again, I just got steaks.For a very reasonable price, I picked up steaks for four adults and two finicky kid eaters. I live about 20 mins from Don's and let me tell you it was, without question, worth the effort. Two, eight ounce filets, beautifully marbled, a gorgeous pound of prime ribeye, that I wound up saving for another day and 2.25 pound top sirloin. To my surprise,, they declined to give me an eight ounce portion of the sirloin, so I bought the full steak and cut it into three portions. That's not a complaint, the prices were reasonable and sirloin, especially a good one is a damn fine steak, it was just more meat than I originally came to get ;)The meal was a success. All the steaks were served and consumed to rave reviews with no leftovers. If your looking for a butcher, tired of supermarket fare or looking to get something for a special occasion and are anywhere near Howe, TX - give Don's Smokehouse a try. I'm headed back soon with high expectations. Will update with reaultsA very late update: on return trips to Don's, I have found the staff, service and quality to be consistently excellent! Well worth checking out!

I've known the owner of Don's for most of my life and outside of being the most honest and trustworthy person I know, he adds to that with some of the best jerky around. It is near impossible to call out a single favorite flavor as each one is better than the next. You can not only taste the immense flavors that he infuses into his meats, but the care and love that goes into the process and passion for doing it. If you haven't had any jerky or other meats from Don's Smokehouse then you haven't lived.

The first time I experienced Don Davis' beef jerky (made by his son Steve), I over did it. It was sooooo good, but I couldn't stop myself from eating a whole bag of sweet & hot and another bag of Texas pepper steak jerky within a half hour. Ever since then, any other jerky has been only decent at best. Whenever I get something from Don's Smokehouse I have to remind myself that this meat don't mess around. It's powerful good stuff, and great power requires great responsibility.

From the first time that I tried Don's Smokehouse Jerky I was hooked. My family and I have tried almost every type of jerky that Don's has and it never disappoints. In fact the jerky is so good that my kids will eat it all before I get home if we don't hide it. Hands down the best smoked meat, cheese and jerky I have ever had! I use the smoked pepper-jack cheese on almost everything. I was introduced to this place about a year ago, and after trying it once I was hooked. I never knew anyone could smoke meat and cheese this good and then ship it that quickly. I was recently introduced to Don's Smokehouse. The flavor of the ham and smoked turkey is amazing. The cheese is equally as flavorful but I especially love the ham. Check out their website and have this greatness delivered to your front door. Everyone should check out Don's and treat yourself to some great grub.

I was at a gun show in Mesquite,Texas on Saturday 1/8/22….And the cutest little young lady offered me a sample of Jerky. Now I wasn’t going to try it because my uncle is by far the very best on a smoker so I felt I would be wasting my time. But I figured what the heck….And omg I must say this was the very best jerky I have ever eaten. Needless to say I have been all over the website checking things out. And I figured I will take a road trip to old Howe, Tx because even though I am the queen of online shopping. I must see this place up close an in person. I pray that the good Lord continues to bless you I know your Father is smiling down on you saying well done my son……And yes I read the story It warmed my heart….. So anyways I’m rambling now. Bought 4 bags of Beef Jerky today. The jerky is way too thick. The lemon pepper flavor was okay, but the Texas Pepper Steak had absolutely no flavor at all. It was like chewing on an unseasoned chunck of meat.

Edit: All problems have been fixed and I look forward to ordering from them againI really wanted to love this place. We saw them at a gun show and loved the jerky so much we put in an order for 12 bags the next day and talked about ordering that same amount fairly often to share with friends and family. Their website says to allow 5 days for processing. Day 9 I emailed them saying I never got an update and my order is still processing. They notified me they had issues with their website and that I would have an update soon as they were processing orders that day and the day after. 5 days later and I still haven’t received an update. It’s been almost 2 weeks since I placed my order. I’d really like this resolved and my email answered.

I was eating one 1/4lb bag driving home next thing i know I was on my third one lol Im disappointed I didnt buy more I gave some to coworkers and they got hooked I will be buying more next gun show on the 22nd hopefully they are there again my picky friend also loved it he will be going to buy in bulk lol
