Update: they're going backwards it seems. It's always something with this store. Either it's so disorganized or it smells. Seen managers come and go. Now it's card only ( first register is down and self-checkout is card only). There's always issues when it comes to cash. Good thing there are other stores in the vicinity we can go to that are more reliable.

This store is filthy. Everything… floors, doors, shelves, etc… is covered in a dirt/grime and the place constantly looks like it has been ransacked. I only stop in when I need something last minute. The last few times I’ve stopped it has developed a terrible smell… some kind of mildew and/or soured or spoiled food.

So I live in Van Alstyne, and our local DG has seemed to go kinda upside down since management changed. In turn we have shopped the Howe location primarily. (Other than the dead cricket smell) lol all of the employees are pretty great! Since inflation $ has been pretty tight so I went in with a few $1 bills and a ton of change. Kasey (not sure if he's management or what) said well change spends just the same as bills girl don't feel bad about it. 🤣 I even ended up being a bit short this time and he covered it. Here I went in there feeling small but his personality is just goofy bubbly so I didn't feel so inadequate coming out. BE A KASEY!😁

The GPS gave instructions to turn on Mayo off hwy 5 then turn on Maple. That is totally wrong and takes one thru a residential area. Should tell me to turn right off hwy 5 onto KirbyThe store is on Kirby.

Very disappointed in my local store. A portion of Their refrigerators has been broken for almost a year now. We are told that they are unable to get anyone to fix it? Seems like a very important thing to let Stay down for so long, so I just go to the store in the next town, which has So much more to offer! So Sad that our town store has let this go for so long. So, I guess I found a new home store for our family.

Shop here often. Always good stock. Store, baskets and even the card readers are filthy though. A layer of dust sits on the card reader screen. The hand baskets look like they have never been wiped down. I will continue to shop here, just wished they took better care of the store for other Howe residents.

Easy in and out.Today is July 5, 2018. I stumbled across this review that I posted, it says 8 months ago making it November 2017 time frame. The initial time frame really isn't relevant here because nothing has changed. I don't know what business I thought I was reviewing back in November, but I assure you it was not this Dollar General location. This store is always busy and requires a wait to check out; sometimes excessive. It serves a lot of people and many different needs since it is the only general store around for your basic needs without going into Sherman. They do a good job considering. But there is no easy in and out here, not even the parking. Strangest parking lot design wasting a lot of space.

The employees here are always friendly to me, always. Like, not just hi how are you, thanks for coming having a nice day etc because they have to say it. They re friendly and make jokes and treat me like a person and speak back to me, unlike most people in the entire area since I've moved here from a few hours southeast and been completely baffled by how rude and unfriendly most people are. I wish they were getting paid more. Someone said the store is filthy, I've never noticed any dirt and I wonder if that person has every worked retail for a corporation that is always ahort-staffes during a pandemic being paid less than $10. I wonder. Anyway, as far as Doll General locations go, this one is good.

New manager who doesn’t open the store till she wants and closes when she wants. The store is filthy and all the freights in the back room where it can not be bought from. What stuff is out is thrown wherever so you have to look and look for whatever u need. Honestly it will probably end up closed. Where’s the DM at he should be making this store run right. There’s set hours, make ur managers do ot right!

Great store just need to keep from overstocking being left in the aisles on carts leaving not much room for shoppers.maybe hire stockers just a thought so that you can get more customers in and out in less time. Instead of cutting employees trying to save money.

Arrived at 912am and they were locked up. They open at 800am. Two employees walked in at 920 and there's still quite a few customers waiting for them to open their doors. It seems like this location frequently changes their opening hours. Though that is not the case today

I live in Howe Texas 75459. Me and wife does lots of shopping there.Why does manager park up front all time?? Thats for customers? It urks me that happens. That means there is no respect for customes that keeps the storegoing

Dollar General has gotten better over the recent years. They carry more name brands. I can get basic supplies there for less and I always find something unique. I wish them much success and hope they get even bigger. Give them a try.

Like this dollar general because it's so close to my house. But it's one thing I don't like is that they don't have African American hair products or anything that we can use in our hair, on our skin etc. Other than that it's a convenient location for me.

Since the remodel, I can find anything I wand to buy. Service has been wonderful no matter what time of day or night. Perfect little grocery for a small town

The place has really gone down, hardly anything to find on the shelves, seems like everyone I knew who worked there must have quit, and ever since then it's been a waste of time shopping there also, there are a lot of hazards in the aisles that are safety issues, empty boxes on the floor, etc. Sounds like someone needs to contact corporate offices
