I’ve gotten a few cakes for my fur babies from here and I have never been disappointed!! I absolutely love how they came out and my favorite part is that you can really customize them to your liking. Just wanted to show them off and say if you ever need some sweet treats for your babies, this is the spot!

We absolutely love how our golden doodles are trimmed, cleaned at our closest puppy spa. Most importantly, they return to us happy. In the past they have not wanted to go to certain puppy washes. They get excited to walk over to Yale Street!!The owner mentioned to me that a few of her groomers are competing against one another in a competition soon and I believe it. Due to anxiety, I'd been using mobile groomers, but didn't feel like they gave my smaller girl a great cut. She truly looks better than ever, now that her coat has had time to grow out and she's been trimmed up with Yale Street.

I've had my 8 year norfolk terrier for a year. I didn't have much knowledge on the breed and had him shaved the first time. I decided to have him hand stripped by John. I was amazed and happy with the results! It took 3 hours because my baby was way overdue for a cut. I can tell John loves what he does! He was really informative on how the hand stripping works. He even showed me Quincy giant hair ball! When I came to pick him up, he was ready and happy go lucky!(Before/After Pictures)

I absolutely love this place! I’ve been getting my dog groomed here for a few years and I can’t imagine taking him anywhere else they always do an amazing job. We also buy our raw food for him here and we have seen such an improvement on his weight and energy level since we switched him over.

Best dog bakery with the best dog groomer in Houston, TX! Kathleen (the owner) is so helpful. You can tell she loves dogs and understands their needs. John (Noil’s groomer) is the doodle king and listens to everything you ask for in a haircut. He will give you feedback on what he can and cannot do based on your dogs fur type but always does his best to give you what you ask for. He never misses and always gives the best haircut for your doodle/dog!

Only visited to grab a birthday cake for my dog, but they have cupcakes, small cakes, and a selection of various treats! If you're wanting to celebrate a fur baby's birthday - this is a great spot for a cake!

Been busy with work and a newborn, so just got around to writing this.Took my dog for grooming back in December, and when we got home he started scratching by his neck. Shortly after, his skin got very irritated, and due to the scratching, the problem moved to his back paw too.Took him to the vet, where they confirmed it was a bacteria. Called Yale Street Doghouse to let them know, and wanting them to take some responsibility. They just blamed something/anything else, and ignored me.I guess something like this can happen anywhere, but you just want the place to accept it and take responsibility. Obviously that is not this place, so now I am taking my dogs to Kriser’s.

My original negative review was removed by me because the owner of this business rectified the problem and issued a refund. The owner took full responsibility and handled the issue that I had better than I could have ever asked for and even made me feel like I could return in the future.

This place is so unprofessional. I used this dog bakery back in 2020 and absolutely LOVED the cake that they made for my dog’s first birthday. Raved about it, recommended this location to everyone. I wanted to use this place again for my dog’s cake this year, sent in an order over a week ago. Received an email from the company the day after I placed the order asking for clarification about the design, I responded within 25 minutes of receiving the email even offered to call and pay additional money if what I was asking for was more than the traditional cake price- never heard a word back. Got a generic cancellation notice a week after that email exchange via text message and no explanation or attempt to contact me to let me know why. I just called the location directly to ask why this happened and the employee told me “I don’t know, I’m just the person that works the weekend. She’s not here.” Okay? That shouldn’t be the answer. I understand that I have a pending refund for this cancelled order, but I attempted to spend money and should have been treated as a paying customer seeking answers as to why service could not be provided. At the very least, if what I was asking for was too much I should have been offered an alternative before you just cancelled my order with no explanation. Won’t be coming back here.

Kathleen and the team at Yale Street Dog House take amazing care of our little buddies. It’s really amazing to have a group of folks that treat your dogs as if they were their own. And our dogs love it there!

Spent around 30 mins on the phone trying to confirm an appointment. Day of the appointment I was told my dog doesn’t fall the weight limit so I missed out on booking him somewhere else. Plus, his old groomer moved to this location so I am shocked that now his weight is an issue. Not the first time I either have been canceled or asked to rescheduled by John both at Wag N World and now at Yale Street.

Kathleen and crew are nothing short of amazing. They always take excellent care of their dogs. Our dogs refuse to eat anything but her food. They love every single member of the staff there—who are all very attentive and extremely kind. Our two rescue dogs really came out of their shell when they started visiting YSDH. They are always well-cared for and we get to see them on Instagram when we are away. The prices are more than reasonable. We wouldn’t trust anyone else with our kiddos.

Beyond disappointed with communication from the staff. Apparently a month ago they made changes in policy limiting grooming to dogs 35lbs or less. LESS than a month ago we booked an appointment four our dog who is over the weight listed, and this policy was not mentioned at all. Well here we are 2 weeks later getting a text less than 24 hours before the appointment cancelling the appointment altogether. No reference to the change in policy, no "hey here's a good place we trust and recommend", nothing.. Keep in mind our dog isn' t a new client therefore had a full profile in their system... So now here we are 2 weeks after expecting a grooming appointment starting from scratch yet again... and yes this wasnt the first time we've had an appointment cancelled by them

We love Yale Street Dog House!💗 We got our puppy right about when they opened and started going to their Wacky Wednesdays because it was cheaper than our dog walker. The owner Kathleen became our go to person for doggie questions and she continues to be amazing. We even switched to having her husband walk out dog. Karl and our dog are now best buddies. Our dog loves going so much she jumps out of our arms as soon as we open the door and immediately heads to the back to play with her friends. She comes home exhausted and happy which makes me happy!!!! Thank you YSDH2022 & we still love YSDH!! Best treats (so pretty and yummy), fun parties that always come with a picture keepsake, great daycare & overnight care

Amazing! We have been looking for a place to board our small chi-terrier, and Yale Street Dog House is perfect. They have a great routine/schedule for the dogs, regularly post on social media so that you can see what your dog is up to, and are so nice and reassuring! Our anxious dog loved it and had a blast, and we look forward to continue coming here.

The best decision you can make for your small dog regarding their daycare, boarding and grooming needs. Hands down. I never post reviews, in fact this is my first one, but Kathleen is the best and your pup will be in good hands. I assure you. Daisy always has the BEST time and comes home and passes TFO ;)

I come here for treats for my 55+ pound dog (too big for daycare) but the owner still accommodates and lets us take pictures when they have events. My dog loves the treats and the owner is the greatest!

Probably one of the most unprofessional businesses I have ever encountered. I ordered a cake 3 days in advance for my dog’s birthday and heard nothing other than my confirmation receipt email. The day of, I called to confirm and the woman who answered told me she knew nothing about the cake. She called me back 10 minutes later and said the owner had canceled on me and refunded me. She refused to give any kind of explanation and just insisted that she “didn’t have nothing to do with cakes and didn’t want to get in the middle of it.” ??? Not sure if my order got lost or if the owner just decided she didn’t feel like doing it today, but I would not recommend.

I read so many good reviews about this place and had high hopes in trying it out but I really didn't like it. My first impression of walking in was this place reeks of urine. My old groomer kept the place so clean and this didn't give me that clean impression at all. The receptionists attitude was also very offputting as you hope to gain a little more confidence dropping off your pet at a new place for the first time. I had discussed my dogs grooming on the phone with someone prior to this appointment and how they do breed-specific for him and I was under the impression that they could handle it perfectly. When I picked him up I really didn't like the result. His tail looked like it hadn't been brushed and dirty, his body didn't look trimmed, and it certainly wasn't the style discussed on the phone prior to this appointment. Sadly, I won't be taking my fur baby back here :-( does anyone have any good recommendations in the Heights?

I have been bringing my babies to YSDH for ~3 years now and have only wonderful things to say. They absolutely LOVE coming for daycare and cry to get out of the car and run in as soon as we pull into the parking lot. I also get them groomed here and they always do a great job and check in to make sure they have the correct grooming info.I recently boarded them here for the first time ever for 12 days and I was a wreck as I had never boarded them before or left them for this long and YSDH texted me updates and pictures and were so responsive whenever I checked in to see how they were doing. I feel so much more comfortable with boarding now knowing they were well cared for, they were having fun, and that I can check in on them whenever. Also, YSDH always has themed parties where they take adorable portraits of all the dogs and there are so many activities to keep them busy; my boys are always exhausted when they get home and try to leave with me every morning to go back! I also get the dogs bday cakes and themed cookie treats here and they are AMAZING; Kathleen is so talented with baking and decorating these treats!

Kathleen is a dog whisperer. She is extremely knowledgeable about behaviors, diets, medical issues, breed insights, you name it. She takes pride in giving the absolute best care to every dog that comes through the door, and puts the dogs first with everything she does. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a solid, professional groomer as well as doggie daycare. This place is literally a one stop shop.

My Alfie lives to go here and play with other small dogs. Owner Kathleen is also loved by Alfie and he is always happy to see her. It’s nice they only let dogs under 35 pounds so they can play well together. We plan to keep going to this gem as long as we live in the area! They even have dog parties!

We liked the idea of a place that catered to small dogs. We have taken our Bichon/Poodle and my daughter's Maltese/Poodle here several times now. We brought a picture of our dog so that the groomer could see how to groom our little guy and liked the results. Our daughter's dog, however, smelled dirty, had many mats in her tail and her hair was stringy. She did not at all look or smell like she had been groomed. We weren't happy about this but had previously had good experiences so decided to take them again and mention this. When my daughter explained the problem last time, the groomer was rude and insisted she had groomed her dog, then said that she would bathe her twice. My husband asked if she could take a little more hair from around our guy's face since he had some irritation from hair getting in his eyes. The groomer was equally rude to him. We should have taken the dogs home with us tight then and found another place to take the dogs for grooming because when we picked up the dogs, our Bichon/Poodle was hacked. His coat was cut short; not at all like he had been cut in the past. His hair was uneven, with chunks of hair taken from the top of one ear and pieces of the hair on his head. It is scary to think that she deliberately did this to our little fellow. The following day we called the owner who said she had been having problems with groomers and then said she was busy and would call me back. I sent her a picture of what the groomer did to our dog fully expecting her to at least give us a refund. Nearly two weeks have passed and have not heard anything. not even an apology. They may do a good job with day care, but I would not under any circumstances recommend this place for grooming.
