Awesome place with a great variety of fancy goldfishes to choose from with different sizes and colors. The owner is very nice. I picked a jumbo ranchu goldfish, she appeared to be very healthy and active once I took her home, adapted to the new environment quickly. I will definitely coming back.

I have been visting this pet store on and off for the last 7 or 8 years. I’ve have been able to notice that the animals are in a bit of a crowded situation such as the rabbits and guinea pigs co-existing with about 15-20 in a 3x3. The beautiful birds are in a back storage closet in tiny cramped rusty cage, most of those types of birds need large aviaries to live in. The hamsters are in a small 20 gallon tank where they reproduce on their own with about 20-30 in a small tank. The fish seem alright however a lot of the times the tanks are dirty and many of the fish look half dead. Their reptile selection looks like a petsmart set up which is a bit better they are not as cramped together in each tank. There was a 30 gallon tank with roughly 40 or 50 green iguana babies, they had no vines to climb on and couldn’t go anywhere without stepping on eachother. Another thing is the amount of cockroaches running the place, everywhere you can see there’s dead roaches and live ones throughout the shop. The elderly lady is usually stalking around the shop and glaring at us when we come. It makes us on edge and she will follow you around and sometimes she will just sit behind you while your looking at the animals. It’s almost as if she thinks your going to steal a fish or something.Several years ago we purchased a rabbit which we had no choice of that color so he was white he was grabbed by his ears and handled like that for several minutes while the owner was trying to find a box. He then proceeded to throw the rabbit into a box that had a couple live roaches in it. We took the rabbit home and his nails were about an inch and a half long each and curving. He was scared and stressed and my daughter would give him attention and he would crave it. He would bite on her ankles if she put him down for 10 seconds. He was such a sweetheart but I believe due to his previous circumstances he passed away a few weeks later in his sleep. The animals look more of a hoarding situation than a pet shop the store itself is full of boxes and trash on one half of the store and the shelves for pet supplies are dirty. I hope these animals have a better outcome or they go to better homes where there aren’t 30 of them in one tiny cage.

I love this place- I am most definitely going back, got my flower horn fish from here and he is extremely healthy and looks great. Person who was working did an amazing job with helping me out and they have such healthy fish all around and tanks are clean

Very awesome place. Lots of great gard to find fish. Owners are nice and helpful. Lots of aquarium supplies. I bought a log fin oscar from them and it was in excellent health. Made it a 2 hour drive home with no problem.

Big pet supply store in a convenient location. The store could use a little organization but otherwise it is clean and looks great. They have a variety of fish and supplies, and good prices on most things.The owner seems to have a busy schedule and a lot of maintenance to do so he can come off as impatient. This is not the case if you need help, if you are a customer, he will help you and answer your questions. If you're window shopping, he'll treat you like you're wasting his time. But to be fair, if you aren't buying anything you are kinda wasting his time.They have a small selection of reptiles, guinea pigs, birds and bunnies as well.Their bird section could use a deep clean. It's clear they don't maintain their birds as much as their tanks as feces and fallen seeds have caked on the bottom of the cages.I couldn't find what I was looking for, to no fault of the shop, most shops in the area don't have what I'm looking for. However if you are looking for fish, aquarium, bird, or turtle supplies, visit this shop.

Run away from this place . Your better off buying your fish from petsmart . If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I came in looking for tetras and a new betta . I didn't like the price for the tetras as they doubled in the price than petsmart. So I didn't get any. I got 2 bettas . $18 each betta . Super cute ones . They seemed fine and active at store . Once I came home I acclimated them and set them in their forever home . Not even 24 hrs later both bettas are dead . I drove 40 mins to this store for bettas since the store down the street was closed. 😑 called and he blamed me for the bettas dying said I didn't know how to care for the bettas or tank . Mind you ,I cycled my tanks for 2 months . Took a water sample of both tanks to petsmart, which they said it was go to go . Only reason I didn't get bettas from petsmart was because they didn't have any in stock that day . When the bettas died I went to petsmart to get meds to treat the tanks ... got new bettas and they are thriving . Mind you I got 4 bettas and all alive and well .

Hello im give this place a 3/5 because the bunny was kept in a some what good condition the bunny has hay but the bunny was not eating hay idk if the hay is Timothy hay but if there under 6 months they need to eat alfalfa hay , the thing they have limited pallets that good but need to be under 6 months , but the bad thing is they are drinking out of a water bottle that bad beacause they can’tBe hydrated and they will be dehydrated but if they use a bowl that would be Better because the bunny is not going to be dehydrated no hate just want to fix the Bunny situation.

i have been in this place lots of time to buy food for my red ear slider but not anymore. the owner is frindly but the lady who sometimes works the front will tell people that the debit card dont work. but always works when he is there. i will NOT waste money here again.

Animals seemed stressed, not in a healthy environment. The employees seemed not to know anything about anything they sell. The Manager/owner is rude and they refuse to honor or even garantee their animals under any circumstances. Once the animal is out the door forget turning around trying to return it or exchange. Stay way go to other pet stores.

I dont come as often because I moved but I bought a bunny and a pleco from here both healthy. The fish are cool to look at they have a great variety from fresh to salt all sizes giving me ideas from my next tank. The staff is friendly, the also have reptiles.

I am a new reptile owner, I bought my first snake from these people, I bought an 80 dollar juvi ball python, it didn't eat for 2 in a half months. I could start seeing it's backbone, it clearly wasn't healthy. I took the snake back and they let me trade it out for a new older/bigger snake. I bought the snake home and didn't touch it or handle it in any type of way other than placing it in its enclosure. That same night the NEW/OLDER snake died! I go to ask for a refund for the snake and the heating pad I had bought for the snake, and the lady tells me it's nothing she could do about any refund for anything. I WOULD NOT RECOMMENDED ANYONE TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. SHE WAS RUDE AND HONESTLY DIDNT WANT TO HELP MY SITUATION

We saw neglected fish living under poor conditions. In one tank, goldfish were swimming around several dead tank mates. One large fish in a show tank had a missing eye, and their sea turtle was living in crowded conditions.Sorry - no pictures because there was a sign on the door prohibiting photography.If you're looking for affordable exotic fish, possibly come here if your heart is a black empty vessel... There are many other small aquarium business in west Houston you can support.

Animals are not in good condition- overcrowded and stressed (specifically the reptiles and mammals). There was at least one dead animal left in an enclosure when I was there and others seemed unhealthy. Their fish seemed better cared for. The staff was not friendly and mostly just glared at us from the moment we came in.

Good Service - Despite the reviews I notice my customers come in the store just to look. Please understand this is a business and this man is trying to support a family by doing this. every time i came in the store ALL the employees are nice to me, the greet me and ask how i am doing because i am supporting. I live in the Woodlands - I make an effort to purchase something $20+ and will continue to do so. I give this place a good review. great fish, great selection and great service.

I bought a goldfish for $40. dlls on Sept 10, 2022, I asked the owner what if my gold fish will died in 4 days and he said "it won't die" and on Sept 14, 2022 the fish got sick with little white bumps all over its body, I took it to Petco and they gave me medicine for it for 7 days, on Sept 19, 2022 I took it back to this store Xtreme Fish & Pets and the owner didn't want to ex-change it for another smaller gold fish (mine was a big gold fish) however; he told me my gold fish needed warmer water, so I bought a heater for $40. dlls (which I already had one, but just to be right, I bought a new one from his store) The owner didn't want the gold fish back or he didn't want to give me a smaller gold fish. I went back home with my sick gold fish and the heater, which I installed it in my fish tank yesterday in the afternoon as soon as I got home,.....my gold fish died this morning Sept 20, 2022, only 10 days after I bought it!! I also had bought another gold fish from the store on Bissonnet called Fish-N-Pets Unlimited, and that gold fish its nice colors, energetic and it seems happy in my fish tank, no problem with it. I wasn't satisfied with my purchase at Xtreme Fish & Pets, but the owner should have given me a smaller fish at least. Some of you may think that it wasn't his fault, but it wasn't my fault either, but I paid $80. dlls total at his store and at the end I don't have my gold fish.....very unconsidered from his part. Greedy money people!!

I think this place has the best selection compared to the surrounding area. There are hard to find fish and animals here. They have staff on hand to care for the animals, although I do have to say the place is a bit dirty and they need to get rid of those small betta tanks.

Place should get 0 stars. DO NOT GO HEREThey do not care properly for these animals. It’s truly disgusting how they think it’s not a big deal. They do not care about your concerns either. Place needs to be closed and the owner should be held accountable
