I had a wonderful visit today for my two cats, Ms. Tanya went above and beyond for my two boys to make sure they felt comfortable and safe. My visit was exceptional solely because of the extra care she gave. I also loved that she explained everything as she was doing the pre-exam. The vet who did the shots was super kind and knowledgeable and also seemed to really love cats. Highly recommended Thrive, the heights location!

We switched both our pups to Thrive and we’ve been very happy across the board.Scheduling appointments is easy, office staff is very nice, our vet tech was fantastic, parking and location are great. Our doctor was very attentive and treated both us and our babies well. He was very knowledgeable and gave us helpful advice.Wait times are very very reasonable. We were in and out of the office in an hour for both dogs (wellness exams, vaccines, routine tests, etc).Prices are somewhat reasonable, especially compared to other practices. We used to go to another well known vet in the heights but it was slowly getting unaffordable. This place is about $10-$15 cheaper for all services without sacrificing on the quality of care.We plan on being long term clients.

This place is always fantastic with my dog, Draco. Dr. Smolik specifically is such an empathetic doctor and always goes out of his way to make sure my wife and I understand treatments, medications, and the recovery processes associated with his issues. He’s more than happy to answer all of our questions. He’s practices what can’t be properly taught in vet school - excellent bedside manner. Highly recommend this place. Great prices and even better vet care with Dr. Smolik.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I am (was) a long time customer. I took my dog Max there for the first time almost 10 years ago. I tried taking my other dog Charlie there today to have a vet look at an injury he had just received at doggy day care. A significant cut on his side. I got there 2h 10m before they closed. I gave the receptionist a brief description and offered to sit there patiently for the next 2 hours and wait. The receptionist barely looked at me and quickly said “no, we’re fully booked”. I just wanted anyone to look at the cut and tell me if it was serious. I couldn’t get 2 minutes of someone’s time to say “it’s fine, just keep it clean” or “he needs stitches you should take him someone where else.” Don’t ever go here if you are looking compassion or common decency. You won’t find any of that inside their walls.

My mini schnauzer gets the best care here. Dr. Smolik is incredible. Would not trust any other vet in Houston. The entire staff is amazing. We appreciate the cleanliness as well.

I don’t usually put in bad reviews but this is not the service I expect. I paid almost $300 for my dog to get care here and 3 weeks later he still has worms. I was talked into getting a chewable that would keep him protected for a full month, plus I also got him the liquid 3day dewormer that I was told would “definitely get rid of whatever worms he has”. Has it worked? No. Now they’re saying we have to buy another dewormer when I was told the other medication would work. Then on top of all of that I was quoted different in the exam room than I paid at the desk!

The Vet was amazing. Our first visit to this location. We went in for vaccines. My maltipoo pup was very nervous, she was shaking so much, when the vet and his assistant came into the room. which made me tearful lol, bc usually shes very happy to meet ppl. She was scared and unsure, He picked her up, held her close to his heart, petted and woo wooed my baby w positive affirmations while she got her shots, to help calm her. I was very grateful for this bc my dog is so trusting of humans (even though she's scared of vets) and he helped show her we were all there to help, not hurt her. Thank you so much, for handling my baby w compassion.

I’ve decided that my time with Thrive has come to an end. I was with them since they had one location off Ella and they were AFFORDABLE. Not no more! It’s a shame they were bought off and then changed so much. The facilities still look the same service is about the same but the price hikes are ridiculous. Good luck. And unfortunately, good riddance.

Making an appointment and check-in was smooth and easy. Receptionists are friendly and check-out was great. My issue was the nurse that attended my dog, she came in and tried to explore my dog as if my dog knew who she was. I normally go to Fountainview and the nurse their took the time to get my dogs trust. Something that didn't happen in The Heights. Therefore, my dog got defensive, he's a 12 year old dog. I believe that every person that has knowledge about animals, knows that you need to let the animal smell you and trust you before grabbing him. The doctor then came in with a muzzle and I expressed my thoughts to both of them, the vet said, "the other option is that you leave him, we sedate him, and you pick him up tomorrow." They ended putting the muzzle on him. Additionally, I found out yesterday that the solution to my dogs problem was not what they gave me. I spent $130 on a test, meds and a cone. To find out yesterday at the follow up appointment in Fountainview that the solution was to remove his nail, $200 more. There's always a first, and this was our first and last at The Heights.PS: staff in the Heights do not possess the Fear Free Animal Trainer Certification, unlike Fountainview. I believe this info is important for any dog parent looking to make an appointment, instead of being notified after the situation my dog and I went through.

Dr. Smollick and his assistant took great care of my cat. It is always a wonderful experience whenever I have to take my cats to them. They spend time with your pets and explain you in detail if there is any cure or remedy that we have to follow for better health of my pets . Highly recommend Thrive at Heights because their team Rocks !!!!!

Thrive on 19th is awesome. The got us in the same day, and are so sweet with my little kitty cat. They took care of the nasty abscess that just appeared on her. Poor kitty but she’s on a road to recovery.

The experience here was great right up until I was checking out and was over charged on my card hundreds of dollars by someone untrained it seems and now because of this I will have other bills be late. Will not be returning here for sure.

While I understand I was 9 minutes late, the doctor would not see me and went to lunch instead. I was told I had a 15 minute grace period as well. Disappointing. The red head lady in front was also not very accommodating or nice. I’ll assume it was because it’s Monday.

Loved my experience here and don’t have enough good things to say. The vet was patient, unhurried, informative. He sat down and answered ever question and explain every option for fur baby. The vet tech and receptionists were friendly and comforting. They set my senior dog at ease which I really appreciated. The prices were reasonable and quoted me several different options until we found one that was in my budget. This will be my permanent vet home going forward.

I brought my lab mix to Thrive for a dental cleaning and possible tooth extraction that my regular vet said she needed but was going to charge me $1000+ for. My main complaint about Thrive is that when you call them it goes to an automated phone service and they can't give you any information. I asked for an update on my dog who was in surgery and an estimated time frame of when she'd be ready and they said "Nope, no time frame. Can't give you that." Very weird?? I didn't love how during her exam they brought her to the back and I wasn't able to see what they were doing and speak to the vet during the examination, that was new for me. My dog is very anxious at the vet so I wished I was with her the whole time.I loved both of the vets that I spoke to and appreciated that they were conservative in their effort to save her tooth-- they ended up thinking it didn't need to be removed and said it was healthy, a different opinion from my other vet who was going to charge much more. I'm glad they were trying not to put her through unnecessary pain. The vet techs were AWESOME as well, especially Linay & another tech who spoke to me in depth after Nala's surgery about her care. Above and beyond! Overall a positive experience, I paid less than $600 for the dental surgery.

Lylah has been here twice for 2 emergencies and the staff has been wonderful in taking care of her. I am a big fan of Dr. Doucet and I am very trusting of Dr. Smolek. Tomorrow Lylah goes in for a dental cleaning and a nail trimming. They did her pre-ops today and I feel very confident in their abilities to do a phenomenal job. Thank you for helping us Thrive!P.S. Daniel is a wonderful Tech. It has been a pleasure meeting him over the last two weeks.Cheers!

Everyone was so friendly and seemed caring. The receptionist was awesome, crazy how good she is juggling all of the stuff she has to do at once (and with a smile). They were definitely price oriented in a good way, letting us know how much everything would be prior to doing it and even gave us an estimate for the next visit. I have been having not so great visits at OTHER vets so this was a relief. Would definitely recommend!

I liked the vets and the staff when I was there, but you can’t call and talk to the staff. It goes to a call center out of the country, the connections are terrible and I understand little that they are saying to me. This aspect of the business is so impersonal that I will go someplace else in the future. It’s sad that they let a call center replace the personal touch that is needed, and lose a client because of it.

Took me awhile to write this my boy passed away from Cushings disease .and I still break down cause I miss him . How it went unnoticed is beyond my comprehension after he had been to Thrive and had blood work not more than once done . I was the one that had to request test because of his symptoms . Thrive needs continuing education for their Veterinarians and their staff . Blood tests were done not once a red flag of high liver numbers or cortisol , his skin condition was looked at but never tested . The specialist that I was referred to at the end was all about money and did nothing for him but that visit cost . Now I say don’t get unnecessary injections , read medication given for your fur baby ask questions . Do your research . I remember when I first started to take fur babies to Thrive it was an older Veterinarian woman And there was a technician that was awesome but also left . I just needed to get this off my mind .

Jordan was amazing! The doctor was super friendly. I always enjoy my experience at Thrive. The only con is the price change but that’s inflation for you can’t blame them. I’ll be back for sure.UpdateDecember 24, 2022I went in to have my cats claws capped. With caps that I purchased on my own for $15. All I needed them to do was put the caps on my cats claws. I didn’t ask for a nail trim not once. I requested an appointment online and I didn’t request any other service. I specifically notated a follow up. Meaning a follow up after calling and asking if they could help with capping my cats claws. Not once did they disclose prior to the appointment that there would be a $45 tech fee on top of them charging me an additional $20 for a nail trim I never requested. A total charge of $68 was given to me at THE END OF THE SERVICE THAT TOOK TOPS 15MINUTES HELL NOT EVEN 10.I expected a charge of some sort. $10-20 is very reasonable for the techs time NOT $68 for less than 15 minutes. They ended up dropping it to $27. I paid it and will never return again. Beyond disappointed. And don’t delete my review trying to save face. People need to know these things especially seeing that there is absolutely no price list available on their site or at the clinic.Professionalism I can say is good and I truly enjoyed thrive for the time that I was there. But don’t put “affordable” in the name if you charge people $200-$300 per visit for their pet
