Dr. Kreuger is hands down one of the best Vets we’ve ever had! I took our dog Peanut there for years before my wife and I had to move states. The vet techs are also so kind and were always so sweet and gentle with her while also being so attentive to peanut’s and our needs. We can’t say enough good things about this place. We will miss them so much!

Love this veterinary clinic and can't praise the staff enough on how they care for our dog. Everyone, from the front desk to the vet, is super friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Krueger always takes his time to explain and teach, and is very honest. You'll walk out knowing that your pet is in good hands.

I took my dog Baxter to the vet because I was concerned about the warts he had growing on his body. The front desk and assistant were very kind and welcoming when we arrived. When the vet entered the room,he made me feel very comfortable. He talked to me about the warts and what I can do at home to ease any pain or irritation. He also told me what to look for incase the warts become a problem. The assistant was also helpful in setting up online pharmacy for flea and heart meds. Over the 15 years I've had Baxter, I have gone to several animal clinics but I always come back here.This is the only animal hospital Baxter and I like.

Dr.Krueger was nothing short of amazing. Went in for a first time vet visit and puppy shots and he treated my dog with so much care. He answered all questions i had and seemed genuinely interested in the wellbeing of my dog unlike other vets. I will be coming here for all my visits from now on

I cannot praise this vet office enough! From the moment I stepped in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. The level of care and attention my pet received was outstanding. The veterinarians were knowledgeable, compassionate, and took the time to answer all my questions. We are living in the TMC temporarily while a family member is at TIRR. I saw RVAH on one of my daily walks around Rice University. When our 6 yr old miniature Dachshund got sick, I called them immediately. They got me in the same afternoon and took care of my Chuck. Dr. Dodge and all the staff were very professional. They took him in, examined him and gave us a plan of action. Our little guy is back to normal and in the park chasing squirrels again. Thanks.

Veterinary Care and Grooming - one stop shop!!We have a mini golden doodle and a cavapoo and been going for veterinary care since getting both our dogs. The front desk team is responsive, kind and helpful and the vets are fantastic. We started having our dogs groomed their a couple of months ago and would never go anywhere else. When we ask for a 'trim' - it's a trim. When we ask for more, we get more, and each visit starts with a detailed consultation. The groomer asks exactly what we want on every visit. Every time it's perfect - now we would not go anywhere else. Thank you, Rice Village Animal Hospital Veterinary and Grooming teams!

We absolutely love Rice Village Animal Hospital. Our dog is very reactive and terrified of the vet so I have always dreaded going to other clinics. I have been taking my cat here for about 2 years and now have started taking my new puppy. I LOVE this vet. The main vet, Dr. Krueger, is super knowledgeable and intentional. I feel super confident with my animals in his hands. Plus all of the covering vets are just as good. I’ve never been disappointed leaving this vet. Great treatment, prices, attention to detail, love for my animals, and treatment for their issues. I would 100% recommend this vet to all!!

I cannot recommend this vet enough. I’ve never had a vet where I felt like they were a partner in bettering my dog’s health. They provide service like no other vet I’ve ever been to, they send records where they need to go extremely fast, offer advice over the phone, and even worked out a prescription for my dog over the phone when I was all the way across the country. Best vet office EVER!!!

I now have a new kitty, rescued shortly after my beloved Amelia crossed the rainbow bridge. Dr Krueger and Savannah provided him top flight and compassionate care yesterday during his checkup. He suffers from PTSD, having been born in the streets and brought to the HSPCA during the snow storm of 2021. Savannah welcomed my little ginger boy with great love and a lot of affection and I could see him relax in her care. When Dr Krueger came in to examine my baby, he did so gently and all the while, giving him pets and talking to him gently. He was given a full exam, all things thoroughly and professionally checked, and his vaccination given so gently that my little guy didn’t even flinch. I highly recommend this animal practice! The best! Reasonably priced and staffed by some amazing, clearly animal-loving people ever! AAHA certified, plenty of great parking, easy to find. I love this vet practice and would never take my fur babies anywhere else in the Houston area! Thanks for everything again!My old review 2 years ago:What can I say about a place that is staffed with some of the very most caring, professional, knowledgeable, loving people who give their best to each and every animal? They have been the veterinarians to my 18 year old, indoor only, beloved cat Amelia since the day I got her. I would never think of taking her anywhere else! I have such total trust in every member of the staff from administration, to nurses, to the vets! These are people who will treat you and your special animal family member as if you and yours were family. 5 stars for Dr.Krueger. I’ve been taking my elderly dog here for years but the service lately has been off the charts since Dr.Krueger joined the team. He takes his time with us at every appointment and we never feel rushed or taken advantage of. He is quick to respond to emails and calls and always takes a conservative approach to treatment, which we appreciate. The office staff and vet techs are great as well.

What a pleasant experience. I was so nervous coming to the vet being a first time cat mom, but they made me feel at ease. They were so accommodating, easy to make appointments, and very sweet and caring with my cats.

UPDATE: Today, we had a medical emergency with our cat. I had been calling all morning, since 8am (their posted opening time on Mondays), with each call being sent directly to the answering machine saying they were closed. I finally took our cat and drove over, where I of course found the receptionists there and the building open. They had just “forgotten” to turn the phones back on after the weekend. Completely unacceptable. Then, I told them the emergency, and they told me my cat would likely need an emergency surgery. They informed me that they couldn’t do the surgery there. So they send me to a 24-hour emergency clinic. Can you imagine having a medical emergency with your pet and being sent away without even being able to speak to your veterinarian? When we got to the emergency clinic, they were able to diagnose and solve the problem quickly without surgery. I assume that if Rice Village Animal Hospital had actually let me see the vet we could have conducted the procedure in-office. But I never was allowed to even speak to the vet. I am SO upset by the continuous incompetence of the vet techs and front desk staff. Beware of this place. Do NOT take your pets here. They will NOT receive the attention and care that you need and expect.—I noticed that others have left reviews regarding difficulties with the prescription process, so I wanted to add my similar experience. Every time we have requested prescription refills, there is a complete breakdown in communication with the vet staff. They don’t return calls, they don’t call you to let you know the status of the refill. This has been consistent. Communication at this vet is terrible across the board—it is very frustrating whenever we try to call to schedule an appointment, refill prescriptions, get updates on lab results. The staff simply doesn’t communicate well or effectively. As others have stated, the vets are skilled and are great with the animals, but the administrative staff makes the whole experience incredibly stressful.

This review is regarding the prescription refill process without using Rice Village's pharmacy.We have been taking our kitty here for a few years now and we plan on switching vets. Not sure why, but it has been frustrating to get prescription's refilled here when using a separate pharmacy that is not theirs. Never had issues using our nearby pharmacy until we started going to this vet. We would wait for days without any medicine for our kitty that she needs to take three times a day for pain and self-harm. The staff is great and all, but it just seems like the vet wants you to use their pharmacy. I have checked with our nearby pharmacy and they have all the correct information such as the fax number and other vet information, but for some reason the staff would ALWAYS never receive any request for refills. Our pharmacy has even attempted to call the vet, but was forced to leave a voicemail when no one answered which left us to call the vet personally. We wanted to stay here, but it has been a huge hassle every time we need to have her medication refilled. We want the best for our kitty and not hurt herself when she has no medicine while waiting for days.We stayed because Dr. Rita Jou is an amazing veterinarian. She's super sweet and gentle with our kitty before the pandemic. It has been a pleasure for the vet visits!

I initially wrote a good review as everyone was nice and my dog seemed to want to go back I think they gave him treats :).I felt he was well taken care of for the most part but for the purposes of an honest review i initially gave 4 stars, only complaint is the area which is very nice had a lot of traffic so a little inconvenient to get in and out of and it seemed pricey, but it think prices everywhere are going up. I initially thought I would be reusing them, but they don't refill my pet/children's medications through outside pharmacy and they keep wanting me to make appointments for them unnecessarily and have asked for yearly check up appointments even though it's been less then 6 months since their last visit. They give me the feeling they are really after money and holding my pets medication/ treatments hostage for extra visits. I don't know if they switched ownership or management but it seems like a completely different experience dealing with them. They have made me feel like the best option is to change vets. And have made me upset enough to update my review.
