I came to buy canned dog food. The Small & Medium Breed Puppy Recipe Dog Food 5 oz was priced at $1.99. I was charged $2.99. The cashier also tried explaining to the manager on duty that the canned food was priced incorrectly. The manager on duty would not honor the fact that the dog food was priced incorrectly and would not refund me. The 13 oz cans were priced at $2.99. I bought 5 ounce cans that were priced at $1.99, but I was charged $2.99.Update: I initially had a bad experience with the manager on duty regarding pricing. However, the owner John immediately called me when he saw this review and apologized! I really appreciate the fact that he took out the time to call me and make the issue right! Besides that one incident, my experience with Pet City Houston has been great and my Morkie is doing well! The owner really cares about his customers which is something you don’t find often! Thank you John!

Purchased our Cockapoo 2 years ago from here. Beautiful black puppy for $3500. The place smells terrible and most of the animals walk around in their feces. We felt so back when we saw Gene but he was so happy and healthy we had to get him.He is the best dog we have had and I wouldn’t trade him for anything in the world.

I didn't go to get a puppy just let me son see that it's best not to have one. Upon arrival this little girl waved at me, she trapped me with her cute face and loving eyes. I didn't even see other dogs she was coming home.Her home, she is loved by us and she loves us back.Perfect dog - couldn't have ask for anything else.

Underwhelming ... Staff isn't much help they don't know their own prices or what's even for sale or not. Lots of puppies in tiny boxes lots of fish and crabs in tanks way to small for their size ..

I’ve come here to buy mice for my ball python for the past 9ish months since she was a baby, they have helped me decide what size mice to get as she’s grown and given me tips for keeping my ball python healthy and happy. Mice are always in stock and definitely in good condition and I’ve only ever had one die before feeding, definitely a one off. I haven’t bought any other animals but looking around the store the birds, fish, dogs, and lil rodents always look healthy and don’t smell at all despite what some reviews are saying.

I ask for almost thirty minutes to see a dog and they asked me if I was from Latin America I was searching for a partner for my dog. And I wanted to get the beautiful puppy but they never show it to me and give it to me Let me hold it. I asked them 5 times After 30 minutes, I just walk away.

I bought a new puppy from pet City the other day. He's a little white miniature schnauzer and I named him Jack. I did my homework and chose pet City over the other places because they have the most good reviews and their prices were competitive. I've had Jack with me going on 3 weeks and I have to say I am not disappointed. Give pet City a try.

We needed a life vest for Gracie. She loves water, but once in a while panics and needs assistance getting back in the boat or on the boat dock! Contacted Pet City. They asked for her stats and immediately fitted her with the perfect vest! Pet City is the best when it comes to customer service and follow up!!

This is my third time buying a Shih Tzu from Pet City. I trust this place over the other places like Pet Land. Quaterius was my salesperson and he was very knowledgeable and kind throughout the buying process. He showed me two female Shih Tzus and I purchased one with a blue eye (super cute). The pricing is expensive (over $3400) but you leave with a crate (and a ton of accessories including an engraved pet tag), microchip, and local vet care is provided within four days. I would suggest taking your puppy to get an exam just to be sure they are healthy. The pup is AKC / ACA registered and you'll have documentation of the sire and dam. You'll also receive shot records and feeding times.

Wonderful customer service. Very knowledgeable. Let us take our time to find our new friend to add to our home. A wonderful playful little female French bulldog now all we need is a name. So many wonderful options but she was the one for us. Time to introduce her to my bull terrier at home. Will come back soon!

Animals are mistreated and not properly cared for in this store, and the owner replies with smart remarks, gaslighting anyone who mentions this. This place needs new management who actually cares about animals. Don’t support this shop.

Really cute puppies here we are looking to purchase one for our grandbaby we played with the French bulldog and miniature dachshund I think we like the dachshund the employee was very knowledgeable about that breed being a good 1st time puppy for her. We will be back.

The associates are sweethearts but the dogs are so poorly taken care of. I interacted with a few of the puppies and they stunk and were covered in feces. Some of the dogs were too big to even be in the crate they were in. I understand the associates can only do so much and the control comes from management. But it’s sad.

Pet City is an amazing Pet Store! One of the few who still sell pets on location. The people were so helpful to us, and compassionate to the animals. A truly positive experience. We adopted a furry baby, and Madelaine made the process swift and painless. She was so knowledgeable and a complete angel. She set us up with enough supplies for quite a while and gave us a full history of our new family member. It was perfect. Thank you.

We came to Houston to visit my son and his fiancé for Thanksgiving. We hadn’t planned on getting a puppy. We stopped by Pet City the day before Thanksgiving. I held a few puppies. I fell in love with one of the Shih Tzus I held. We went back on Friday after Thanksgiving and bought the Shih Tzu I had held 2 days before. Maria was SO great! She answered ALL my questions, wasn’t pushy and helped me pick out items. They bathed our puppy, clipped his toenails and put a cute bandanna on him while we did the paperwork. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

When researching different dog breeds, I fell in love with the Cavachon breed, and I came across Pet City Houston as they were the only local place that had them. I got my fur baby, Lola on Memorial weekend and it has been the best decision I’ve made. She is a vibrant, healthy, intelligent, and loving puppy- now 9 months old. I visited two days ago and it smelled like an elephant busted it wide open and was told to bring it back I got my puppies some of their fresh dog cookies and it made my dogs so sick and bulemic I should have known not to buy anything after I saw the dogs they had for sale. The whole dog section smelled like a hot hyena sneaky link. The dogs looked like they all had PTSD or depression. Many had alopecia. If you ever want to know what BB Kings favorite chair smelled like. Visit here

The dogs are very cute but the place smells horrible. I know you have these animals in a little box area but it should be more cleaner and smell a little bit more better and I carried one of the dogs. He smelt so bad I didn’t even want to touch him.

The day that I went in to purchase 2 parakeets, they appeared to be a little short staffed. We had to wait a bit. When our turn finally came around, one of the staff members assigned the task of collecting the birds to a young new girl who I overheard saying, " But I'm terrified of those birds." I tried very hard not to laugh at this. Parakeets are practically harmless, and they're tiny. I encouraged her that she could do it. She put on a brave front and went in. After about 20 minutes, we had our 2 birds. Poor girl had feathers all in her hair. Job well done 😆.
