It’s a serviceable grocery store. It’s small and doesn’t have nearly as much variety as suburban Kroger stores, but it has everything one would need while being easy to navigate. There’s also a bicycle lane along Cullen, so going between UH and this Kroger is pretty easy.

Good deals, wide selection. This place is mainly worthwhile to go to if you have a Kroger card

Absolutely straight trash. Especially the click list. The lead doesn't know what she's doing, get all mad when I'm trying to explain then she start to talk about something completely different. Sga straight TRASH

Consider me an X LONG TIME LOYAL CUSTOMER after my experience with manager Jasmyne today. I have patronized this location since before the manager was born I'm sure. I admit this Location has always been far from the best but good for a few quick items. I purchased those few items and thought total was off so checked my receipt after walking away from register and noticed an overcharge for bottle of Margarita advertised in store for $8.99 but was charged $13.99 +tax. I kindly returned to register to alert clerk who went to shelf and verified the display price of $8.99 and told me to go to customer service desk who claimed it has nothing to do with them even though being sold by their store and said she would not refund the difference like it was my fault they used false advertising to get me to make the purchase so I asked for total refund of the product which she said she would also not do and it had nothing to do with Kroger. (Excuse me but the sign outside says Kroger) she attempted to put in a kind way that I had just been screwed. If this is how Kroger treats its long-time loyal customers don't worry about seeing me again. $5. surely won't break me but the principal of having a business you've given your money to for years kicks you during a worldwide pandemic is sad. Especially after you make donations to Houston Food Bank to help needy in the same transaction.*** A week later I was contacted by Kroger and all was resolved. The price for cheese puffs $6.79 here but half that next door at Dollar General. Don't really know what to call that

I love coming to this Kroger. I always check out my groceries with Nina. She's the quickest, and always really friendly. Great customer service.

I used the scan feature to save a few bucks, when I went through the self checkout, it scanned with no discount, I asked the clerk at the self check to help, I was referred to the "customer service" this is not the first time I have had " help" from them, and yes, true to form, the clerk was talking with a coworker, vand was put out that she had to help me, after asking if I had the app, yes I do, I showed it, I had accidentally scanned 2 cards, instead if help I got attitude, as she called for what I assume is security, I left, and I will NEVER return, thanks for the extra miles added to my shopping

A smaller and probably older Kroger. Is okay for basic shopping trips but really doesn't have the selection that you would find at newer/larger stores. You can usually find all the advertised items but I would recommend checking the web site for specialty items.

This location is useless to a community that is vastly expanding. Poor product selections and when asking the grocery manager about specific items I was told "this is a smaller store" which is bologna! You don't serve a "small" community. I should not have to travel miles outside of my community to find a variety of fresh produce and organic product that are staple at other local grocers. Who is Kroger's competitor...Dollar General?

This is a nice, small, neighborhood Kroger store. The building style is reminiscent of the 1970s.The store is well lighted with good merchandise presentation. The store associates I dealt with were friendly and helpful.

No warning that they're closing. Just chase you out. It's already a terrible store but the treatment from the employees is the worst grocery I've ever been in and that's every grocery store i've ever been in. This is the worst one. I will never go back. Drive to the randalls on milam. They're nice and friendly there

Love this Kroger. It has gotten way better over time, would be super nice if they stocked some cold yerba mates (suggestion do you guys). Thanks for being awesome Kroger 🛒 🥪

Really great place to shop, I like how the produce is always fresh here. Even though this store is small they have almost anything you need. I like how this Kroger still has some features from the 70's. There is almost never a line to checkout here, I like going to this Kroger.

Worst grocery store ever... I complained to the manager on August 5th about expired yogurt that expired on 22nd July. All of the kroger yogurt in shelf that was about to expire on the same day or was already expired. Fast forward to yesterday(13th august), those exact same yogurts are still there. And the worse part is some of them were sold, so some poor people actually bought expired dairy product by mistake. Worst experience I have ever had in a grocery store, shame on Kroger for not training staff properly.

Honestly shocked by all of the extremely negative reviews of this Kroger. Is it a Whole Foods in River Oaks? No. But they have good produce and usually have everything I’m looking for. It’s clean and well stocked. They have a self checkout which is nice. In addition, the small interaction I’ve had with the staff have always been pleasant. The cashier even notified me that an item I got was buy-one-get-one when I didn’t even notice and offered to have someone get another for me.

Its convenient on acess in and out at times, depending on time. Does not have many selection on organic food or produce. Milk is always out of stock in the evening. This store is an old store but should be remodeled as others. Management is helpful. Its an okay place to shop but would like a change.

Check for product tampering, expiration dates and freshness on all products! All the basil plants are full of mold. It’s been like this for over a year. Fresh mushrooms are always very questionable. I purchased a Sriracha bottle and when I got home the foil lid was already removed. Lots of homeless people begging for money. The worst Kroger I’ve ever been too. No Butcher or seafood case. The staff is helpful and nice, but everything else is unacceptable.

Combat Kroger! The locals refer to this Kroger as combat Kroger! They’ve recently completed a renovation which added self-checkout capabilities. The selection is actually decent. They have plenty of fresh frights and vegetables, a decent organic selection, and a bakery. I give 3 stars because they do not have click list. But if you’re in the Neighborhood and need some groceries, it’s a decent place to grab them.

Nice to have Kroger close to my house. Even for the neighborhood close and walking distance. The prices are great and friendly employees.

I give this store ONE star ONLY for the employees. I bought a Rotisserie Chicken last night and it was RAW on the inside. I cannot believe they are serving this to people labeled as FULLY COOKED. Our neighborhood is full of families who cannot afford to get sick or miss work because someones lack of care in the products they are serving people TO EAT. This store needs to be more careful at the products they are selling. BEWARE!! Besides that the store workers are friendly. The store lacks basic necessities such as eggs, milk and tomatoes sometimes which is very sad. I have contacted the GM in hopes something will be done about this issue and hopefully no one was affected or got salmonella from this incidence. I had to cook the chicken another 30 minutes for it to be ready.

Very clean and organized store meat department was full it looked pretty amazing. The guy in the dairy was just the awesome guy I forgot to get his name but I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and the sink wasn't working the water so he went and knocked on the women's bathroom and make sure there was nobody in there and let me go inside and wash my hands really fast want to say thank you for taking your time and stopping from what you were doing to help me out I really do appreciate it

Rather old and cruddy looking on the inside. Definitely old school neighborhood grocery from the 70's. Nowadays there is usually only 1 real cashier on duty while the self-checkout is always open. I HATE self-checkout. Service can be hit or miss. The ONE good thing about this store is the convenient location for those who live in the East End - 2nd ward area. Otherwise, the awesome HEB on Alabama is often worth the traffic hassle.

Clean, easy to find stuff, and a great place to get your groceries. Classic Kroger experience.

This particular store is horrible, it's dirty, poorly stocked, they have the most wilted and mushy fruits and vegetables Ive seen in a long time. The money services window are inconsistent with their supposed minimums on money orders. All of which I know from experience. I thought this location was on its way up and out of these type of of issues after a major refurbishment a few years back but they've fallen right back into old habits. A business is only as good as its staff, they have to care about the services they offer. The folks here are polite at best, still not worth stopping by for anything other than a loaf of bread. I live one block away from this store but it's totally worth the 15 minute drive to HEB on Washington Ave.

Good little neighborhood Kroger. I go there for last minute things at night. Can have a limited selection, so I don't use this one for all of my groceries, but it does the job most of the time. Decent produce selection.

The most bare bones Kroger in Houston.Tip: If you're cooking out on a holiday wknd, plan on going somewhere else. They do not alter their inventory for holidays.Labor Day wknd/2023: Not a single pork shoulder, not a single hamburger bun in sight.
