Come here pretty often for plants. They just got a shipment yesterday and they’re great. They have a great selection of bettas. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. They take care of their fish better than other local shops too. Pictured are mystery snails I got from there and some plants.

Hands down the best place to purchase quality guppies, shrimp, bettas, goldfish you name it! Ryan and the owner are very helpful and friendly. We purchased two guppy trios for breeding, and we were so successful that we expanded to 6 trios and 4 lines. They are always available for advice including hatching brine shrimp and setting up breeding tubs. This store has been so supportive, now it’s our go to for beautiful fish.

This place is amazing through and through! From the selection to the knowledgeable super friendly staff! This Giant betta was my first purchase and I’ll definitely be returning for all my aquatic upgrades 😄

I order two betta fishes online( one for my mom and one for me ) and they informed that one of them was sick . They ask me if I would like to replace it and I said yes and they gave me an other one instead and they are both healthy ! They were quick and patient and very polite. I know there are other places that I’ll ship you a sick fish or dead fish so they can keep your money . But honestly Houston aqua was the best experience I have ever had !!! I will be coming to the store often and I will order again !!!

Great little shop. Stopped in while visiting Houston over the weekend. Great selection, especially the Betta fish. Also actually had "Montecarlo" plant I have tried hunting down locally in San Antonio for quite some time and couldn't find any. Friendly and attentive staff. Will def visit when I have the time when back in Houston.

I was blown away by the selection of fish and the customer service. I was immediately greeted and all my questions answered and then they let me look around until my heart was content. I bought a female betta (Daki) and plan to add more to my collection sourcing only from these guys. All of their fish looked super healthy and no dead fish in the bottom of the tank. I'm telling everyone I know and bringing back my family. Thank you so much for this place!2/1/24 edit: Daki is all settled now. I moved her out of a tank of tetras into her home. She's gorgeous and healthy. Thank you, Aqua Houston!!

I was a first time buyer of fish and aquatic plants from Houston Aqua. I am beyond impressed with the honesty and integrity of the owners of this shop. I had questions about my order, and they were answered promptly with a phone call from the owner. He was extremely professional and honest regarding my shipment.I ordered and received (5) assorted angel fish, (1) black marbled angel fish, (1)rainbow shark, and (5)aquatic plants exactly as he told me I would. I also ordered a trio of German Rams which the owner informed me will be shipped Monday. The ship date and arrival were spot on as mentioned. The fish were vibrant, healthy and impeccably packed for their journey to my doorstep. I ordered aquatic plants as well, and they were above and beyond my expectations of what I thought they’d be. The plants were lush and extremely healthy. One of the five aquatic plants, I ordered one “planted” on driftwood, and it is an absolute perfect specimen.Hands down, my experience with this aquatic store was one of my best! The Owner and his employee are both kind, courteous and knowledgeable. They always make me and my two kids feel super welcome. Amazing Beta Selection, tons of shrimp, Axolotls, and one of the biggest prettiest flower horns I have ever seen. Fair prices, good healthy fish and plant stock that live very well in my tanks. Nano tanks on front counter are jaw dropping. Make stopping by here a MUST, whenever you can.

Thank you for sending healthy fishes. It is wonderful the order came. I ordered total of 10 fishes, 3 sets of trio, and one betta. Houston Aqua has every fish in each separated bag. All of them well healthy 3 days later. One of the female guppy gave birth while shipping so I have 4 little fries with the mama in one bag. Thank you guy.

I discovered Houston Aqua a few weeks ago when searching for driftwood. I didn’t realize there was such an impressive store only 2.5 miles from my home. This is a freshwater Aquarium store that opened my eyes to beautiful fish. I caught myself asking “this is a freshwater tank?” too many times. I had not seen such vibrant beautiful fish in any other store. Not only will you find some rare fish, they also have a large variety of aquatic plants, various types of shrimp, rocks, driftwood, and all your tank’s chemical needs. I’m a customer for life :) These are a few of the fish from Houston Aqua we have brought home.

Amazing!! I’m in Orlando Florida and this was my first time ordering fish online, so I was extremely nervous. But they came in fine, they are adorable, i couldn’t stop smiling at how cute they are. I’ll definitely be ordering more fish from Houston Aqua. My package even came in a day early what was one of the reason I was nervous bc i wasn’t home that day luckily my dad came to the rescue. The guppy was a lot darker than I thought he was going to be but it’s probably just the light he is still beautiful. Thanks!!

I ordered 20 half moon Plakat male bettas. They arrived the next day all healthy and well. They even gave me an extra one! They were packaged with great care. The colors are amazing! I’m beyond pleased and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting beautiful, healthy bettas!

We have gone to many fish stores in Houston area, however Houston Aqua has definitely stood out with the cleanliness of the store and amazing quality of the fish, plants, customer service, and every aspect of the business being top notch. I took my girlfriend here to get her very first betta. She picked out a beautiful yellow Startail Plakat and we couldn't be happier. The staff is friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. All of Houston Aqua's fish, and especially their bettas, appear to be healthy, brightly colored, and actively swimming around their tanks. This is one of the few places that I've been to that doesn't keep their bettas in small cups, instead opting to house them in individual five gallon tanks. I would definitely recommend Houston Aqua to anybody searching for a reasonably priced, healthy betta fish.

I would argue this shop has the best selection of high quality and high end fish in town! Show quality bettas, goldfish, discus, and flowerhorns! They have giant bettas (3+ inch monsters) if anyone is looking for some in Houston. They also keep their females in sororities so they are extremely docile if you plan to start your own at home. Their schooling fish are very reasonably priced and they do deals if you buy multiples. If there are also any shrimp enthusiasts interested in this shop, they have you covered from basic red cherry to blue steels and crystal reds. Can’t wait to go back and buy more soon!

They're finally actually open in-person rather than just online. I purchased some shrimp and was allowed to hand pick them myself with a net. I'd purchased a fish from them online earlier and it's still doing great! It's very nice inside and there seems to be a great selection of guppies/shrimp, but I didn't look around too long.

Such a beautiful selection of smaller fish for my smaller tanks! I loved Betta fish when I was younger….. not so much now BUT this store has such BEAUTIFUL BETTA I think I will come back for one. The set up is literally killer!! Wish I would have gotten a picture of them.

I RECOMMEND HOUSTON AQUA FOR ALL FANCY GOLDFISH LOVERS.Houston Aqua has some of the healthiest goldfish we've ever seen. We got two orandas from them. They are so sweet and so cute. They will come to the top and talk to you as soon as we got them because they were so lovingly raised. Just finished quarantining them, added them to the big tank and everyone seems so happy.

The best customer services! I’m a first-timer and they really helped me out from choosing the fish to the equipment. I heard that a lot of places sell you unhealthy ones and they would die in a few weeks or so, but here they have such healthy ones, my little buddy seems happy and well! Even got a few tips to take care of them. So happy with the experience, will definitely recommend it.
