I'm a vet so I love going to base. Plus every employee I encounter is great to me. Especially ( I'm sorry I forgot his name) short blondish gentleman at the electronics department. Great great guy. Very helpful and Knowledgeable.

I did not know Fort Sam Houston had a new exchange until I got there, so I unfortunately do not have a lot of photos. But I was pleasantly surprised by a completely new building and new look, as well as a big parking lot.The Exchange is located fairly close to the Commissary, so it was not difficult to locate. It is designed to function much like a modern mall, only a little smaller. The ceiling and walls are high. The main exchange foor space is at least twice the square footage of two Best Buys and is divided into several departments; if you do not see what you want, I found two sales associates who gladly pointed me in the right direction. I did not find a U.S. American flag and pole set, but that's on me since I waited until the day before Flag Day; normally, the Exchange will have several.As I explored the new surroundings, I noticed a James Avery Jewelery Department in the main store. Looking further for sports wear, I noticed men and women's Brooks, New Balance, and Nike running shoes at a good Exchange price. Looking around, I found some stylish Champion running shorts for $20 bucks. Because the Exchange is new, I spent much more time in the main store than I planned. Check-out was mostly self-checkout, and a friendly associate was there to help people like me who were not used to the Exchange check-out process.Before entering the main exchange from the parking lot, there are smaller stores and fast-food restaurants. There seems to be more space than the previous Exchange, but it's more conventional than businesses scattered haphazardly. Some are familiar, like a barbershop and watch repair shop; others are unique, like a "Lost Cowboys Boot Store" and specialty stores for "Grunt" products and "5.11" clothing. There is also a large pharmacy: I do not know if it replaces the older pharmacy located elsewhere on base, or supplements it, but it certainly looks more comfortable.On the other end are fairly typical fast-food restaurants like Subway.I didn't stay for lunch and did not know I would be doing a review, but it appears to me some of the departments and small businesses were planned because of customer popularity. My only photo is the twenty dollar pair of Champion 🏃‍♂️ running shorts.Have a great time shopping at the new Exchange!Update, 8/18/23. Good place to buy a Casio watch.Update, 3/27/24. Not real happy with their "replace of defective merchandise" policy. It isn't as fair as other retailers.

If you're looking for an eyebrow/face threading place, look for Brow Arts at JBSA FSH BX.The hours are:Monday - Saturday: 10:30am to 5:30pmSunday: 10:30am to 3:30pmI have been coming here since Summer 2018 and haven't had any complaints!!

HUGE upgrade over the old BX. Massive selections and pretty decent food options! I've enjoyed coming here while staying on base during my PCS in. Especially coming from our BX at Yokota, this place is awesome!

Hmm. New, but maybe not better? Arrived Feb 1984, the PX had an electronic section that would rival NASA. No mas. This new PX is about the same as Fort Hood but with less selection. Prices are high, but you already knew that. The clearance selections are top-notch. I only got yelled at once at the self-checkout. I informed the associate that it was my first day on the job and to please forgive me. I'm not sure if I like this new iteration of the PX,BX,NAS.Plotted. Scouts Out.

Has all you need honestly. It has little stores in the hallway areas and all sales people are very nice. Don't steal from here, we have had a lot of people trying too. Don't do it, they will catch you.

I went to the PX Exchange Store cosmetic. Today some of the Lancome cosmetics section, there is no one working...but in the end i brought what I wanted and even had bonus bag come with it👍

Brand new PX, nice and clean.. here's the problem though: horrible parking situation, there isn't nearly enough parking than required. The available parking spots are awkwardly made! people can't pass each other and it's all way too narrow.. think twice where you look for a spot if you come with a truck.

Friendly people who go out of their way to help. Good selection of items one would find at Target, usually of good quality. For military folks who get paid less. Any profits go back into the base community in the form of other services and benefits for the base.

Qdoba is probably the worst one at the food court. I mean.. the rice was undercooked, and when I asked from double portions, I was given a sprinkle for the second one. They did pretty good on not burning the chicken.

One of the bigger and best stocked AAFES PX's in San Antonio. If you are looking for discount prices they always have plenty of merchandise on numerous clearance racks. If you are shopping for high end clothing and accesories they have them in stock as well.

I walked into the BX, bought card and thought I was going to be checked out by a cashier. To my surprise it was self-check out. What is going on in the military? The military doesn't have that family, friendly feel anymore. The military is headed in the wrong direction. Extremely Disappointed!!!

I was impressed with the amount of new technology available at the BX. It was very spacious and clean. The food market was streamlined and efficient. There's a lot to see there. I'll have more pictures next weekend

Really built up the place in the past decade. If your staying in San Antonio, stay on Fort Sam. The hotel, PX, commissary, gym, bowling alley and gas station are all grouped together.
