I can't say enough nice things about this business. Their staff is incredibly kind and knowledgable and the whole place is just gorgeous. We had my daughter's birthday party here and it was fantastic! They were so so accommodating and patient with the kids. An all around great experience... would recommend X10!

The shop was under construction. I totally understand that. The fish selection was pretty nice. Had some cool stuff. However! The staff was almost non-existent. The one gentleman we did see in the floor did not speak English and couldn't answer my question. The two other folks working flew past asking if we were ok (after I moved along past the fish I had questions about) and didn't really stop while asking. I left without getting the items I wanted.

Very impressed! We drove over from the other side of town on a whim, not knowing what to expect. The place was clean, well organized and the staff was super nice and informative. We will definitely be returning and plan on taking others who are in the hobby. This place is worth a visit, no matter where you live in the city. Hands down best fish store I have been to in many, many years.

I purchased my dream aquarium at the Fish Gallery in Houston ( Would NEVER do Business with them AGAIN!) at the end of December 2023. It was almost a 300-gallon tank and custom stand. They told me at the time of purchase that they would be building everything in house, custom. Was told it was being custom built by them and would take 4 to 6 weeks. Even brought in a door from my desk and handles to match the stand to my office furniture. Paid in full for it and waited. After 6 weeks, I began to call them. They had no updates for me. Finally on March 15th they sent me pictures of the stand and said it was ready. Drove over 45 minutes to see it and when I got here, they told me it was not in as of yet. Drove back on the 16th and once I arrived, was told that the manager was the only one who could help me and show me my tank. He was going to be gone for the next hour. Texted the regional manager Kendall and they got a hold of the store manager and had him come back early so I could see my tank and stand. The stand looked great, but the tank was the wrong overflow box (it was internal and not external) They told me that they could fix that by the next day. I arranged for my person to go pick it up and they called in the late afternoon to say they had to get me a new tank. I was paying my person for all the time he was waiting and the trips to their store for empty promises. It will be on Tuesday, the next day. No tank Tuesday. Given some excuse about it taking longer and needing more dry time. No tank then on Wednesday, said their delivery truck broke down. They said they were getting a delivery service to bring it from their other store on Thursday. Finally on Saturday my aquarium guy was able to pick it up. Cost me almost $500 dollars for the trips and time my guy had to put into all of their missed promises. He did pick up the tank and brought it to the house and it was then that we noticed that the tank had scratches in the glass both inside and outside of the tank. They also sent the incorrect overflow box. It was way too large. It took almost two weeks to be put in touch with the person who was going to get it fixed. They finally agreed to get me a new tank after I found out that they did not custom make this tank at Fish Gallery but purchased it from DFW Aquarium Supply in Dallas TX. The aquarium glass cover still had their sticker on the boxes. On their website I was able to see that I needed the 18” overflow and they sent me the 20”. I had to walk them through that so they would order me the new one. They finally got my replacement tank in on April 18th and they delivered it on Wednesday April 24th almost 17 weeks and not the 4 to 6 as promised. Asked the name of the person who built the stand. He did an amazing job and I wanted to know the brand and color of the stain they used on the stand. I want to have some bookshelves made and match them or ask if they are interested in building them. They have never provided that. I also asked for a reasonable refund or store credit since they lied to me so many times and took over 4 times what they told me for getting my tank. After it was delivered, was told that they would not be giving me anything for my time and hassles. I would never do business with this company again. After doing more research have found they have had numerous problems like this, and things have even gone to the point of being sued over it. I am very glad they do not maintain saltwater tanks, or I may have chosen them to maintain the tank and I cannot even imagine the problems I would have had there. Very dishonest businesspeople and would not recommend them to anyone looking at a tank or any equipment. There are many other choices in the Houston area and some people with great customer service skills.

This place has one of the most impressive freshwater fish selections I have seen. The store is clean and welcoming. The staff are super friendly. Shout out to Moriah, who is very knowledgeable and helped me while I shopped. I like the layout. They put tanks with fish under their aggressiveness level, which will help you find a better fit for your tank. You can see what I mean in the pics I posted. I’ll be sure to stop by again.

cool store just to walk around, not to buy. they dont even offer the houston fish community group on FB discount anymore while all other small shops do. they were already expensive before the remodel, prices are just going to go higher after its done. don't expect to get asked for help if you don't look "wealthy" much rather take my money to smaller mom and pop fish stores.

One of the better aquaria stores in town. Their livestock selection is pretty good. I think their betta area could be better and the choices better. Also, they could have better live plant choices.

I was at the Houston location this afternoon. I had 15 adult discus in a 75 gallon holding tank while I'm finishing up my 400 gallon setup. I needed live bacteria for my holding tank and have always used TurboStart 700. Took time off from work to purchase it, and when I got there, the guy took the TurboStart from the fridge and walked me to the register. When I got home, the expiration date was Jan 2024. I was livid. Very shady business practice in my opinion.Called the on the way back to the store and when I got there, the same guy handed me another bottle of TurboStart 700 dated June 2024. I was hesitant but decided to give them another shot after breaking my trust. I've used TurboStart over 30 times, so I know how and its reaction time. If they switched the expiration date, which is printed on the cap, I'm calling my credit card for a charge back.

Not exaggerating, I literally could spend hours in this place. Impressively organized, great prices, extra friendly people, decent selection of fish, plants, and anything they could need. I'm not local, I do love my local fish store more than any other, but I'll happily stop here when I'm in the area. ❤️

Amazing store. Lots of fresh water fish, live plants, and wood/rock formation variety. Very knowledgeable lead staff. He lead us around each fresh water fish making suggestions and recommendations. My only complaint is driving into crime ridden and horrible streets of Houston to visit this store. Can you PLEASE open up or move this store to the South side of Houston. League City area would be a HUGE market for this franchise.

Seriously the nicest fish store I've ever been to. They have an amazing selection of large tank setups which you don't usually find in most aquatic stores, plus decorations, food, and water additives. The saltwater selection is a little small but they have a ton of freshwater fish, including small and larger-sized fish. Amazing place to go to if you like big fish! They also have axolotls, crabs, frogs, and turtles here so there is a little something for everyone!Edit: went today February 12th and just want to give a shout-out to Adam who made an effort to help me and my friend with all of our questions. He was extremely knowledgeable about everything we asked about and gave us the best experience I've ever had at an aquatic store, and I go to a lot.

always I buy my fish stuff here but the last time when I came to buy fish food, they’re selling a product really bad. It’s say doesn’t cloud water but my tank is horrible and so dirty after using this product. Even after changed the water a week ago. I have the proof that that. I don’t recommended this product and the store must test it before sell it.

Recent events have changed my opinion of this store purchased a piece of hardscape that was almost $160 that ended up being tainted and killed a vast majority of the inhabitants of a shrimp tank. Was not able to get a refund only given store credit and as of late they haven't had any stock or the stock that they have been has been insanely inflated in its price. right now I really don't want to shop at fish gallery anymore

I love this place. The employees are very helpful. I'm in here at least twice a month buying stuff for my tanks. When their plants are stocked they have a very good variety! This place was unbelievably amazing. Tiny bit busy since it was Sunday, but totally worth it. Huge aquariums, with large turtles, coolest fish, could literally charge admission here! Haha. The staff was very helpful, and we got all the advice we needed for our home aquarium tank. Will definitely be coming back again soon!

They know their fish!A very nice boy was helping us out. I had done a lot of research before hand about what products to get and he was very well informed and had feedback for all of my comments/questions/concerns.I bought my first fish here and also got another fish at a large chain store (both betta fish) and keep each in their own 5.5 Gallon tanks. The betta purchased here is larger, happier and more responsive. There is a reason why you need to avoid those chains. Not to mention I found my betta here for $12.99! Super cheap!The prices of everything might seem high when you walk in and see tanks for $10k, however consider that they are quality and very large. If you want to buy Prime or even a fish, their prices are not only reasonable but BETTER than amazon.Update: this fish died 3 weeks after purchase. They do not have a policy for livestock… I ripped into the chain store for their betta… and it’s still alive. The fish were both kept in SEPARATE 5.5G tanks. This fish got sick and it’s color faded. I think it was making bubbles in the store, I tried to move it to different rooms and change its decor, it just wasn’t happy after 2-3 weeks. The last 2 days before it died were just heartbreaking.

These are ultimate professionals. We have been customers since the owner bought the business and turned it into the Fish Gallery. This week they rescued us when our 55 gallon tank failed and was leaking. They got us a new tank and came and installed it lickety split. It is clean, our live plants are flourishing and it looks beautiful. It is a joy to shop at the store because it is so gorgeous. Go see the 5,000 gallon tank on display.

Do your own research and Don't rely on others. They have very clean products and have handled returns and exchanges great. Their fish tanks are fun to sit and watch. The cleanest fish store I have been to. I just wish all of the staff had expert knowledge on fish tanks. The plus-sized is they carry star wars stuff for the fish tank.

Before I start I'd like to mention that I have been a customer here from the very beginning, I have shopped here 100s of times over the years and have always loved it here, but sadly this last visit may be my last. The last 4 times I've come I have left empty handed because it seems like they just can't get anything in stock anymore. The fish selection has greatly decreased, there is never anything unique and special anymore, most tanks just have nothing in them, and the quality of the fish they do have is less that ideal. The aquatic plant section has also greatly decreased in quantity and quality, the plants don't look healthy and most of them are covered in blue/green algae. The staff isn't as friendly and attentive as they used to be and it's very noticeable. The prices one everything have gotten to be ridiculous as well, driftwood and rocks are way overpriced now compared to before and something as simple as a female uncolored guppy is $6.00, which realistically should be around $0.99 to $1.50 max. Overall I have grown incredibly disappointed in the direction this shop is headed, every aspect of the shop has diminished, and I do not believe I will be returning anymore. I would compare the quality of the shop to that of your local petsmart or petco at this point, and if you know the hobby and know this shops history then that really says a lot.

Patrick and Jasmin both were extremely helpful they helped me the whole way through from getting my fish, treating my water, and setting up my tank.

I got a "in wall" 150G fish tank setup by Fish Gallery. I had an excellent experience with all the people whom I dealt with in this process. All the staff were very helpful, forthcoming with information, Their process was super fast right from the time I contacted the first to delivering the fish considering that this is a holiday season and being located at Austin which is quite far away for them. They also arranged for all resources that are required for the build including the "picture frame". The final product turned out nothing short of amazing. I would definitely recommend Fish Gallery to anyone.
