What a great place. great ideal performed. We as a community need to do whatever it takes to make sure this place stays around because having it here in Katy makes our city a better place! Hats off to the Subaru dealership that supports it. I just can't say enough about this place. Every city in the USA should have one of these, if not the world. I know in my heart that they make the animals of our community on a whole alot safer and happier, which in turn makes our lives better. Still can't say enough about his place.

This place is awesome!! They have great pet supplies and they help community adoption for strays and abandoned dogs and cats. My dog loves visiting. I donate to this place too. The employees are very helpful and happy. It sad to see so many dogs and cats looking for a new opportunity but little by little they get adopted and we all should help out a little.

I cannot say enough about CAPS. They treated my husband so well. We had to surrender a dog that was abandoned by someone else. We couldn’t keep him. He is older and in some pain. We were assured he will not be out down unless he is terminal. The great news was that he was originally bought from here and we did not know that. So the owner should have taken him back here and not just abandoned him. My heart was broken knowing we couldn’t keep him and I’ve been crying all day when my husband came home and explained to me, what they shared with him my heart was at peace. Thank you for being so kind to our sweet dog. I 💯 % feel God lead me here!!

I've seen my share of shelters and rescues, and this is an awesome environment. Texas has a problem with so many stray animals. My granddaughter brought me here to find a kitty we left with a pair of sisters 3 months old. I'm so thrilled, love having kitties in my home.

I have a sweet young cat who brought her 3 young kittens to my balcony. I live in an apartment complex and assume that someone moved and left her behind. They estimated their age at 6 weeks and weighed them. I will hopefully be able to leave them with CAP in a couple of weeks. They have to be 8 weeks and 2 lbs. If anyone is looking for a sweet young female cat or young female kittens, let me know.

The worst customer service. Trying to get a cat and did not have my paperwork for my dog so I said I would bring it in tomorrow at 4 pm when I get out of work. That was not good enough. They could not hold the cat even though I was not able to take the cat home because it required surgery. They do make it very difficult to get animal from there. The pet store is great with lots of inexpensive items. I will no longer support them.

Sad as today our foster rescue "Luke" was accepted. He had stayed with us for last 6 months. Fortunately they were able to take him today to help find him a 4ever home.Wish him all the best. He is a great, behaved and loving pup. Just needs a permanent home to be loved and back yard to roam.

New clean facilities. Cats in own room dog in different rooms. Clean visitation rooms and very attentive staff. Rooms cleaned after each visit so always clean. We adapted a beautiful eight month old black cat. All pets have health history and are chipped and spayed/neutered.

I adopted a dog there about 14 years ago and everything was taken for me in terms of her health. She did test heartworm positive which was taken care of through the agency and she was healthy for the next 14 years. I think this is probably one of the best places to adopt in town.

Growing up, my parents adopted cats and dogs from CAPS. They were always so kind, helpful, and always helped us meet our perfect babies. I recently bought my fur-baby from CAPS a couple months ago and I had gone in multiple times to see him. Each time the employees were always welcoming, asking if I wanted to take him into a room and play with him, and talking to me about their own experiences playing and interacting with him. Once I decided he was perfect, they explained the next steps very clearly and made the adoption process very easy. After they gave me him, all the employees were telling him bye and it melted my heart to see they had so much love for him. I’ve had my baby for 3 months and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Many years ago we fostered ..our foster failure, Twix, while he went thru heartworm treatment. He was with us for 12 yrs Jack, my hubby taught him to ride a skateboard, sit on a basketball and jump thru a hula hoop. He even won an award for best tricks at a local bank where we live now. I have been involved in some way with CAP for over 20yrs and the great service they offer not to mention the wonderful care of the animals is a true blessing for Houston. Keep up the great work and remember adopt don't shop.

Awful experience here. I have a stray that I wanted to take to the shelter but they refused to take her after doing an "intake" that consisted of looking at the cat for 2 minutes. The employee indicated that her temperament was too aggressive because "she doesn't like being held" (even though the cat allowed her to hold her and examine her) and hissed at her once. It was as if this person had never met a cat before and doesn't realize that cats typically don't like being held by strangers and will sometimes hiss. Overall this was very disappointing. For a place that is attempting to help cats find a home, they are turning away a huge number of cats and making it harder to help cats in need.

I adopted my pretty cat from this place. Expirence was excellent. Thank you very much to all the workers and organizers for saving the animals. It is organizations like this that make our world a better and kinder place.

A very nice place when you want to adopt a pet or even if you can't take care of your pet they accept them, all people working there are very sweet and helpful

After almost 5 years coming to this place, today I had an appointment and I arrived 9 minutes late and they made me reschedule. I called ahead to let them know I was stuck in traffic and probably wouldn't make it, I told them I could reschedule if they wanted since I wasn't that far from home yet, and the woman told me she was going to move my appointment up 20 minutes. It took me more than an hour to get there because there was a major accident. It was 2:49 p.m. and my appointment was at 2:40 p.m. and it was just for a booster shot and they rescheduled me. Additionally, they only work 3 days a week and Saturdays are the only day I have available to take my dog. They definitely don't know what customer service is.

I thought this place was great and caring but their procedures are very flawed. We adopted Lily and renamed her peaches. Best dog ever and a sweetheart! She got sick and we took her to the vet and they gave her meds which did not work and I had to take her to the animal hospital in the middle of the night. Turned out she had parvo and being a puppy her chances were slim already. As of 11/1 she passed away despite everyone’s best efforts. When I called that morning to let CAP know they may have a parvo outbreak, I was informed that the puppy room had an outbreak the week we adopted her. If they made it policy to contact the owners of an adopted pet who may have some exposure, then there is a better chance she could have made it. I never want to experience this again. I encourage all owners to get their dogs checked for serious illness’ once they are adopted as we were told she was perfectly healthy. She didn’t live past 2 months and it breaks our heart.

I am delighted to edit and resubmit my previous post below. I received a request to contact CAPS' director, Jessica Ellis. Jessica is an angel and i believe she is doing exactly what she was put on this planet to do.The level of responsibility that she takes in her position is apparent and you can tell it is of great importance to her. She was prompt in all of her responses, even though I failed to do the same on my end. I am relieved and comforted now knowing that CAPS is in very capable hands. The little momma cat, whom I have named Elovie, gave birth to 4 beautiful babies late yesterday evening on my porch. I have her set up in a warm, comfortable box with plenty of food and fresh water nearby. Jessica told me this morning that CAPS is actively searching for a foster who can take them. But in the meantime, these precious babies are under my and Elovie's loving care. Thank you to CAPS for being there for us!******************************************I am appalled. I called CAPS earlier today to ask about their cat intake program because there is a sweet, very pregnant stray cat in the apartments where I live. In the 9 years I've lived here, I've rescued many cats and kittens. My own cats are rescues from here. But I live in a studio apartment and am not able to accommodate the soon to be momma cat due to my own cats. The woman I spoke to at CAPS told me they can't accept her because she's pregnant and that they aren't equipped to provide her with what she needs. I was completly dumbfounded. What does she need other than a safe controlled area in which to quietly give birth? They do this all by themselves in alleyways, abandoned cars, behind fences, under porches, etc. Then she had the gall to tell me to call animal control. I was stunned. I responded, incredulously, that they would be euthanized. She said nothing. Still speechless, I mumbled thanks and hung up.In the past, I have (regrettably, now) taken at least a dozen kittens to CAPS. I only hope that the standards by which they are obviously now operating were not in place when I handed those babies over to them back then.Until i have reason to believe they have returned to operating with the animal's best intentions at heart, I won't go back there and I will discourage anyone from considering taking any pets to them in the future.

The adoption went very smoothly. I got lots of useful information about my new sweetheart. He is the 4th dog that I have adopted from CAP since 1985.

Whoever they have answering the phone on Sundays is beyond rude. I called to ask about opportunities to walk the dogs to do something together with my grandfather after my grandmother just died, and the woman barely let me speak and hung up on me abruptly. I understand the difficulties in coordinating volunteer efforts, but that's no excuse to treat people so poorly.

It took a stray puppy to several places. CAP was very nice and the young lady checked for a chip. In the end, they wouldn’t take the animal because it needed vet care and since I wasn’t the “owner” they said I had to keep it and wait for the owner to show up. ☹️ The animal obviously didn’t have an owner who cared and no one came looking for while it was in my yard. I thought these organizations were here to help strays but not really!

So I went here in July to look for a dog I went 2 times and the 2 and time I went their trainer showed me my girl bella after I asked him to show me who he thought would be a good match for me. I had no preference at all but I do tend to like bigger breeds. And he showed me Bella (pepper) I fell in love it didn't take long to go over her paper work and they were very accommodating with answering any and every question I had so I very much I appreciate it. I definitely recommend going to caps.

Great place to adopt pets. Employees, very helpful. Recommend to anyone wanting to adopt a pet. Also I recommend for everyone to use their website for more information on requirements or everything you’ll need to know to adopt a pet. Thanks CAP. I will definitely consider adopting again in the future.

We have adopted two rescues from this location and we had an awesome birthday party here! I would recommend this place to anyone. They do a wonderful job and really care for the animals. The birthday party was unique, fun, and everyone walked away super excited. We're hoping that maybe a few people will adopt.

Used to be a great clinic but slowly they have run off all the good doctors away. Dr. M was the most recent be careful not a lot of care and qualified staff. Sad day for the animals in Katy. Maybe time to change the name to protect animals go elsewhere.

Horrible experience 2nd time adopter. Completely overlooked after feeling out a application by other applicants. Maybe because of our skin color. Me and my kids were appalled. Once we were acknowledged our application unlike others had to be reviewed by a manager. Then we were told due to issues on application we weren't allowed to visit with a pet at all. Only thing we were told was we needed to show physical proof of heart worm of our other dogs and they couldn't take our word. Never needed physical proof at the in the past to simply visit with and potential adoption. Stay away customer shouldn't be treated this way.

My kids found a cat before Christmas and everywhere I called or did an intake form online was full. First time here. It opens at 10 am and closes at 2:00 pm. If you are surrendering a cat or dog it is first come first basis. I was second in line. Small area and only 1 person at a time is allowed inside. Since I had the cat over 7 days it was considered mine. I had to complete paperwork, the cat was given a look over and because she was under 4 months of age I only paid $15. Facility was clean, staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Tootsie will be missed!!

Came here years ago (2015) for our dog who was originally named Mona we changed it though to Kiya, the second I saw her I knew she was the dog for us. The staff at the time were so nice and helpful and said they had her in mind for us even before we adopted her. Our dog is living the best life possible with plenty of love and joy and we cannot thank CAP enough for her.
