Everything you need and want in a small boutique pet store. Excellent service: I was immediately greeted and asked if I needed assistance. I am transitioning my cat from kitten food to adult food. I have been researching ethical foods with high quality limited ingredients. I checked another retailer, but they do not carry the flavor I am wanting, so I figured I would try Carter's. They only have the brand I am leaning toward in dog formulas, but they will be getting cat formulas in soon. They offered to place a special order for me, which I thought was very nice considering the first retailer told me they could not. Not just service; excellent service!Selection: Carter's has those specialty items other retailers do not. Extra-long leashes, fun pet beds, indestructible dog toys, natural products, birthday cookie bones, pretty pet food dishes/bowls, a large selection of specialty foods for both cats and dogs, including refrigerated and freezer foods and so much more.Atmosphere: It's like a boutique for your pets. Very clean and stocked well. It's a small retail store, but you can tell everything they do carry is special and won't be found in grocery stores or other pet retailers.Price: They are higher priced, but you must realize you’re paying for specialty items. I purchased 1 can of cat food ($1.79), 1 cat food pouch ($1.99) and a package of dog chews - 3 count ($12.99). My total was $18.15. They have a rewards program, so I encourage you to sign up and make your dollars count all that they possible can. All the items I purchased were things I have never seen at regular retailers. I am very picky about products for my pets, so I don't mind paying a higher price. It's really not even "higher" since I have not found these items anywhere else. I truly have nothing to compare these prices to, so "higher" is not a fair word in this case.They have grooming available too. My Boston doesn't need grooming and I bathe her myself, so I have not used the grooming services at Carter's. I can say all the pups getting a spa day looked very happy and the groomer was talking to them sweetly like children, so I liked that.Way to go CPM! I am a fan and I will be back for my specialty needs. Great little store! My pup and kitty thank you too!

I've been getting my pets food and everything else from this place for years. If they do not have a type of food you are looking for they order it for you. They also help you decide whats a good choice for your pet and have a wide arrange of cribs, kennels, and beds for your all pet sizes. I no longer live as close to Carter's but i still drive out here to support local stores and because the staff is always friendly.

So far, the grooming wasn't bad. They did shave Oso down too much in some areas and left some red spots. They seem irritated as well. I'm not completely impressed but might give the place another chance.

I brought my 8 month old German shepherd mix in for his first groom appointment for a bath and blowout, and he came home looking so cute and fluffy! I wanted his first appointment to be positive, and I love that Carter’s allow the dogs hang out in an open space rather than have the stress of being kenneled in an unfamiliar environment. All the staff here are extremely nice and welcoming, and made my puppy’s first experience getting groomed a good one. I will definitely be returning with my other dog in a few weeks! Thank you guys!

I’ve been bringing my three dogs here for over a year and they normally groom them great. I brought my Husky German mix here for the second time since they did a great job the first time. They were only supposed to do a trim, bath, and deshedding on him like they did the first time. I came to a completely SHAVED husky. You are NOT supposed to shave a husky. They have completely ruined his coat and now he will be shedding so much more and he is so uncomfortable and cannot stop itching. I am so upset and will never be bringing my dogs over here and I recommend no one else do either.

I’m giving this a 2 star review because they fulfilled how short I wanted my dog’s hair, nails, and cleaned his ears. The staff was also very nice. However, seemed to be a lot of miscommunication from who I made an appointment with versus who helped me in the grooming department when I arrived.Firstly, I made an appointment at 12PM and also received a text for 12PM the day before my appointment but when I arrived the associate told me my appointment was at 2PM.Secondly, it seemed like there was no notes from who I spoke to on the phone and who helped me in store because the associate was asking me what all I wanted done when I notified the associate via phone.Lastly, the environment just seemed off. There were dogs just walking freely. My dog does not do well with other dogs and I would have hate to see him get into it with others.Sadly, I will not be returning.

This is an amazing place with unbelievably fabulous CUSTOMER SERVICE with the Manager that’s been there for over six years! They even groom in a glass room, so you can watch. The diversity and quality of their stock is fantastic ! I highly recommend !

This was the 3rd time taking my dog and will be the last time to get groomed and they did a terrible job where they shaved him all down burned his paws his paws are red and his private parts are red too never again coming back here like do they even cleaned the tools they use and they charged a lot of money for no reason waste of money never again I would not recommend this place

If I could put a zero I would. This place continues to go downhill- while continuing to increase prices. We go primarily for grooming. The groomers have a very bad attitude. Especially the two women there. Every time I bring my dogs in- they scour and are put out that they have a customer walking in. Many times I’ve asked for dematting- and when I pick up the dog- he’s shaved. Last time they charged me $400.00 for 2 dogs. They charge to de-Matt and shave them and tip is ends up close to $500. Why are they charging to de-Matt and shave? Most of the time they charge for nails and teeth and don’t even do it. It’s a upselling scam!! You would think at that price- you would receive some customer service. I will never walk foot in there again after the way they treated me this morning.

Poor customer service, call to try and ask about stock on a product, get placed on hold, hung up on, call back five more times no answer. They never have the products I need in stock like Greenies dental treats for cats or the water additive for cat dental health either, before they renovated they were much better. They certainly cater towards dogs and hardly have any cat products anymore including very basic dry foods. But the inverse dog version of the food is available in plenty. Will never bring my business here againEdit: they finally answered and you’ll never guess, the item I need isn’t in stock. shocker2nd edit: they will no longer carry super worms for reptiles so this store pretty much only caters to dogs. Just a heads up for anyone thinking they might’ve found an awesome pet store- just go to pet smart

We moved from Austin (we are native houstonians though so don't get your panties in a wad) and we used to love going to Tomlinsons. When we moved back to Houston we couldn't find anything that provided the type of dry food we needed at an affordable price and different selection of chews anf toys. This place is awesome and they have great options for any dog owner!

If I could give this place 0 star I would!! I have been coming here for a while and spent a lot of money!! This place was great at first and even got to know the owner in the beginning. A bit expensive but I would pay more for top notch service. My last few visits it has bend going down hill. Finally today this place really upset me and lost me as a loyal customer. Last Sunday I came in looking for a particular dog food that I wanted to switch up and like the last few visits they ran out. The manager (Jordan) assures me we can do a special order and will be in on the following Tuesday. I asked him are you 100% positive. Because my wife will be coming in out of her way from work and The dog food we have ran out. I want to make sure it will be in on Tuesday. My wife gets there and the manager says it’s not in. Because the manufacturer is backed order. So I called to get an explanation and the manager says I’m sorry but there is know way of knowing and that he was informed just 2 hours prior to my wife’s arrival. Now I have no dog food and my wife and I just spent the whole night looking for dog food. Thanks carters per market!!! I will no longer be coming here and I will refer others to avoid this place!!!

Good selection of items. I liked the groomers but for some reason my dog didn't like it. It may be because they let the little dogs and big dogs roam around together in the grooming area. I think my little dog got intimidated. Also, since we went there often, it would have been nice if the staff made an effort to get to know us or our dog.

Awesome selection of healthy dog and cat food. They offer a bag program for some brands where if you buy a certain amount of bags you get one free.I've never used it but they have doggy day care and grooming services as well

Good selection of high quality foods. Prefer the memorial location because a few times here the service was spotty. Some are really nice and helpful and then sometimes the others are not. Example, I asked if they sold crickets also. The response was, "Ya...but they're in the back." As if it would trouble him to have to go do it. So I didn't buy any and he didn't offer. Same thing when a different time when I asked for a box to carry all the cat food cans out. The cashier kept shoving them in as if it was annoying him. I tried to make a joke at my expense to lighten the mood but he must have just been in a sour mood that day. Most times I don't mind, but when the wet cat food runs me about $130/month and the dry food is $70/month I expect slightly better service otherwise I can order online.

Very friendly and helpful and took the time and interest to talk to me to discover what my almost 20 years old cat probably needed in her diet to help her digestion. She's much better now, and is running around. Big difference...I had thought she was going to die. Needless to say I've been back.

This place doesn't even rate one star. They have been lying to me for months about their dog food program buying 10 get one bag free. I asked how many bags do I have when I bought my dog food tonight. They said oh we don't have that program. They had a bag that I bought 5 years ago on their list. They never bothered to tell me for months that the certain brand of dog food I buy is not on the list. And I specifically asked them did you record that bag for me? And they said yes. They tried to explain that they've had new people coming into the store and I guess they don't know what the rules are. I don't buy that because I have talked and dealt with different people and if they work there they should know something like that. That's kind of a big important Rule and I specifically go there for that reason. But I will never go there again !!!

An absolutely horrible experience. I went into the store with my dog which was on a leash. The man, who claims to be the owner, irresponsibly let a dog run out of the grooming room and did not make a conscious effort to retrieve it. This little dog was able to make it all the way up to me before the said owner came and got it. My dog is not aggressive, however the owner was mad at me for keeping my dog away. He did not seem the least bit concerned that the dog in his care was not listening to him. I always shop this store when I am on this side of town. Never again.

Used to be a monthly customer for pet food and treats. Unfortunately they have now consistently been out of my dogs food. I had them order it and was assured they’d call me when it was in.Radio silence.I go back and they tell me it’s ordered but that they can’t find it and again they promise the manager will call me with an update.Radio silence.I got in my car, ordered it on Amazon, and two days later it came to my door 20 dollars cheaper than the price I usually pay.Very disappointed with Carters and they have lost me as a monthly customer moving forward.
