The employees are always ready to help you with whatever you need. Just wish they were open more on the weekend. Being out in the country and this being a small town why they're close on Sundays and early on Saturdays amazes me. Nowadays with businesses wondering how to improve their business that would be the way. But then again I've been telling them this for years

My husband shops there all the time. We live in a rural area where the nearest Lowe's or Home Depot is 25 - 35 miles away depending on which direction you go. So Ace is our go to store before making that trip. Friendly, courteous atmosphere. Very helpful, they know their merchandise, which as a wife sent to get things for the hubby is greatly appreciated. After you spend so much you get $5 gift cards in the mail.

Very nice people and the store has all kinds of items inside and out. Though they might not have everything the big box stores have, but They have the important items. I will definitely come back here and I will refer everyone I know.

Employees are friendly & quick to offer assistance! So far, they've had most everything I needed. They are closed on Sundays, which is invariably when my husband needs something for one of his many projects here on the ranch, but hey,....that's small town living for ya...especially in the South. 😉

Great store. Has everything I need.Decent lumber yard. I rather go here than Home Depot. Prices may be a little higher or a lot , but it is easier and less hassle.I'll mention it to them about the store hours.Give them a break, this is still small town USA .Most stores like this used to close at 12 on Saturday....

This place is real close, and has almost everything you need, and if they don't have what you want in stock, they will order it for you. Good prices, good knowledgeable employees. Family oriented.

Aptly named. It is hometown service you do not get at the bigger stores. Employees have always been friendly and helpful. And range of products is quite large for a small store.

Iv been going to this store for many. Yrs the ladys up front great u with a smile awsome staff will go out of there way to do as needed , guys in the back are also outstanding every customer to my knowledge is treated equal and with up most respect i drive personally from another town in which had 2 lumber yards just to do buisness at hometown hempstead , the owners invest alot into the youth in there county and ajoining towns from purchasing 4h and ffa projects to sponsoring baseball teams etc iv been extreamly happy with the customer service me and my family have recieved from this small town buisnesd

For being my neighborhood hardware store, Hometown really has a solid selection of materials from Farm and Ranch, to household, to mechanical. They almost always have the lumber selection I am looking for, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Very expensive. You will pay double or tripple the price but they have absolutely everything. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable on all of their items.

Took a weedeater in for repair to Hempstead store and was told they would send it to the Waller store for repair. Agreed, but asked them to call me with cost before doing work. Almost two weeks later and I hadn't heard from anyone. I called the Hempstead store and they said they did not have it, call Waller store. Called Waller store and they said they did not ha e it, call Hempstead store. After several calls, I was able to talk to mechanic Thursday. He thought maybe he had dropped it off in Sealy by mistake and was going there Friday and would check and call me back. NEVER heard from him. Called Hempstead store again and was told to call Waller. Did that and Waller told me to call Hempstead. I finally left message for owner to call me Monday NEVER heard from him. Hempstead store finally called me Tuesday morning saying they had weedeater. $59.00 repair bill that no one let me know about and Hempstead store verified it was written on ticket. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Store hours are posted on the website right? Get there 35 mins before and they were closed already. Happened twice now. Either change the hours of operation on the website or be open when you say you'll be open. Horrible experience considering its a 30min round trip for nothing.
