I've been in Hemphill since 1974,I worked at thus store as a bag boy when in high school. I think now this is the worst store I've ever been in. It feels dirty, poorly managed and completely run down. It's a shame that it's the only game around close is the only thing in my opinion that keeps the doors open. BB should be ashamed. If there was an HEB with 20 miles, this store wouldn't make it a week, my humble opinion

We went grocery shopping at Brookshire Brothers. Some of the beef was weirdly colored, even though it was well short of its it's "best by" date. It put me off. The store needs a deep cleaning. It appears dingy and run-down. Prices are high, even for rural East Texas. The restrooms were clean and well-stocked.

Their grocery selection is awesome. At the Canyon Lake Store don't order the steak dinner that goes along with the live entertainment.ITS SIMPLY AWFUL!!!

It's a little bit pricey... But it's close to me and the checkers are friendly.It's still pricey... but it's convenient... BTW what happened to the homemade chocolate chip cookies and the sugared apple and peach turnovers the bakery used to make... can't never find them when I go in there just the sugar free ones.Still can't find the yummy apple and peach turnovers with the sugar sprinkles on top... that y'all used to make. What happened to those???

It seems to me that so many people just love going thru checkouts and having there, someone else bag there, groceries. I'm not one of them, I prefer checking out myself and bagging my groceries myself. Due to the fact that sackers don't know how to sack groceries. I've had them put my packets of Kool-Aid in with my chicken the next time they put it in with my hamburger meat. I called the manager and told him about the situation. But, the problem is it's the only grocery store in town. Now I can drive 35 miles to a Walmart, which I do do for some items.

Medium sized Grocery Store. People there have ALWAYS been nice. Very helpful! Love (Rebecca I think) who does the online orders! She'll talk to you in case any changes are needed during the shopping.

Brookshire Brothers is the highest priced store that I have ever seen. Taking advantage of the folks in East Tx. HEB should consider building in or around Hemphill or Center. Shameful. Its funny how the owners will respond to good reviews, but nothing on bad.

You know this is always the go to place around for groceries. They have many locations. Stores are usually always clean and they employ many locals. Breakfast is great.

Some of the current employees they have as of April 2022 are very rude. My mother who is 64 years old was shopping tonight by herself and the young man who rang her up was out of line and extremely disrespectful. He and 2 other guys about his age stood behind the counter and snickered as the cashier said out loud “I hate late night customers”. My mom heard him clearly and responded saying he still shouldn’t be rude and he continued to be disrespectful to her and not one of them offered to carry out her groceries when she is visibly disabled and walking with a cane. Not to mention the cashier is slinging her groceries around as he’s scanning them and the other boy bagged them so awful and carelessly some of the bags busted open when I helped her bring them in. Neither my mom or myself normally complain on anyone but this is just unacceptable and full of bad character to treat an elderly disabled woman in such an awful way. I’m sure the managers and owner do not want these kind of people representing their business.

Staff is decent for what you'd expect from teenagers some have attitudes 😒 🙄 but wait time is usually not long but prices are a bit high, bathrooms are usually clean just outdated, and parking could use a little more thought

Nice people working there. My only complaint about this place is the prices. They take advantage of consumers because there is no other grocery store within 20 miles of this place and most prices are outrageously high in comparison to other grocers. It is wrong in their part, so I most of the time, I shop for my big purchasing out of town. Brookshire Bros is just a close by "convenience store" with the prices to prove it

This Brookshire Brothers store is in the process of trying to provide better customer services. Cahiers have replaced and things at checkout are friendlier and more helpful. They need to train their frontend on how to properly bag groceries. You don't bag dry cardboard boxes items with wet items.

Small town grocery store. Always friendly employees and they take your groceries out to your car. So please tip the person taking your groceries out to your car. This is an old practice and it is just a nice thing coming from big city areas.

Prices are high, sales items are normally soon to expire but store is clean enough.Sick of the produce here....over priced and always rotten. These were just bought by my husband yesterday( be sure to flip the bags over and around).

Brookshire Brothers is the only grocery store in Sabine county, Texas, also I work for 5 years. I worked with a wonderful crew, with great store director and assist. manger. I was truly blessed to work with an older group that gave good customer service. The younger crew not that good. So many can't live without their cell phones the can pay attention to the customer face to face while checking out;. I love supporting this community and giving my money into community. Plus I live 60+ miles from a larger city, time driving, lower customer service and driving back home. So shop local, save time and gas and you'll spend the same amount locally. So on a scale I give my home store a good rate (4 1/2 star)

Great customer service, always friendly checkers and sackers. Could stand to expand their product line a bit (would love to see ladyfingers, mascarpone cheese, and new products like HVR Secret Sauces). Overall, great store, great deli, and pretty darn good breakfast, lunch and dinner!

The meat selection is terrible. They have chicken and pork that is sitting in slimey juice and some of the meats are different colors! I dont know if its low quality meat or the butcher. But i dont buy any meat here anymore. Which is sad knowing all the chickens and cows raised in this area and you have to drive an hour away to get a decent cut of meat. Also you MUST check exp dates on everything! The bathrooms are always dirty-even the doors and walls. Someone needs to take the tine to really clean those bathrooms. Some of the newer employees could use some customer service skills. Learn how to greet a customer and have some personality. Nothing worse than going to a cashier who obviously hates their job. Poor customer service.
