The Hangout is a great addition to Hawkins / Lake Hawkins. This isn't Applebees where the food comes from preprepared bags that are reheated. This is delicious, fresh, and hearty cuisine that is being served up once you order. MUST HAVES : The candied bacon burger, chicken fried steak, fried pork cops, and the peanut butter pie. Yes, we ordered way more than we could eat in order to try everything.

We've eaten here twice now and absolutely love the food! Server was incredible and gave us great advice on what to order! The atmosphere is awesome as well! The 3rd time we stopped in to eat, we were informed of a cover charge for an event that was happening 2.5 hrs later. We would've gladly paid the cover if we were staying, but had other plans that night. We offered to purchase food to go, but was told we'd still need to pay a cover. Another couple came in at the same time and asked the same thing. We both left and went somewhere else down the road. We spent $72 at the other joint and were home within an hr and half from the time we left here. Point being, if there's a cover, maybe wait to charge it 20-30 mins before it starts, instead of 2.5 hrs before. We will definitely go back, we'll just call before driving out to verify cover charges!

The food was delicious! It was a perfect place for our whole family! We were a table of 11 and there was something for all ages to do, games were available while we waited for our food. We played domino's at the table while the guys played pool!! Drinks were delicious!!!The server was as sweet as could be! Staff was super friendly!We will definitely be back!!

Food is great, owners are super nice people & they offer a variety of nightly entertainment (from live music, stand-up comedy, karioke, trivia & even an occasional poker nite). It's Lake Hawkins brand new CAT'S MEOW & DOG'S BOW-WOW!!! Don't believe me? Go try it out for yourself...P.S. As an added bonus, it's also only a very short walk across the street for simply hungry or nearby nite-life seeking RV'ers & campers staying at 'Lake Hawkins RV Park'!

🎵The Hangout at Lake Hawkins Restaurant & Pub has cold beer, live music & delicious food, especially the “Shrimp Pistolettes” - a rich bisque style sauce smothered goodness loaded with shrimp over bread & taste like Mr.Eds crawfish bread from the Quarter (nola) 🍺🍺 💯 & the homemade kettle chips are the best I’ve ever eaten. #hangoutinhawkins
