I can't tell you how nice it is to have a real hardware store in town. I remember when they first came. I didn't think I'd frequent them as much as I do. I figured if I needed something I'd go to Mineola if the wannabe hardware store on 80 didn't have it. I was wrong..My pipes froze and they had everything I needed and it was a short drive. I had to install a dishwasher and a plumbing part was missing..they had that too.I've needed some electrical stuff to finish a project and they had it all.I'm always buying my wood smoker pellets there since they have a nice selection. I've also had multiple propane bottles filled and it's always cheaper than renting one at the grocery store down the way.The staff is always friendly and helpful. There has never been a time that I've walked in there that I haven't been approached by at least two different employees offering to help me find whatever I need.For anything you can imagine hardware related and something's you can't.. they usually have it! Thanks for being there Ace!

Store carries nice inventory of needed items , nice gift items for male and females, prices on gift items seem to be a bit high but overall nice experience!!Thanks

I can't say enough great things about this location. The previous manager Kenneth retired, he was always very knowledgeable and helpful. I hope he enjoys his retirement.I talked with the owner today and he was just as helpful and knowledgeable. Customer for life.Edit: Every single team member always goes out of their way to help and show you options. Special acknowledgement to Jimmy and Paul today for going advice and beyond.I highly recommend coming here.

Love this store because it keeps you from having to go to Tyler or Longview a lot of times to get the job done. They've got some pretty good people there, but one girl, Jennifer? really stands out above the rest. Always has a smile on her face and makes you feel welcome. Didn't just ask what i was looking for, but asked real questions about what would work for me, and made some awesome suggestions. I basically furnished my whole patio based on her input! Can't say enough good things about her.

God Bless the sweet, hard-working folks at the Hawkins, Texas Ace Hardware!!! In the aftermath of the June 15, 2023 storms, with no power in the store, the wonderful employees of Ace Hardware/Hawkins STILL made sure to show up for work, knowing that many people would be in need of chainsaws, tools, generators and other essential supplies. Business was conducted by flashlight and with only a few fans run by a generator, they were there, in temperatures exceeding 100° & with a heat index hovering near 109°, smiling and reminding US to stay cool and don't get overheated! These folks are what makes the United States, Texas and Wood County a great place to live!! From the bottom of my heart, and I know I speak for many...Thank you for reminding us what great customer service and selfless humanity looks like! ❤ a customer for life!!

I can always find what I need at the Hawkins Ace Hardware! Everyone is so nice and helpful. The employees will stop what they are doing to help you find a particular item. They are happy to provide guidance and direction on how to use certain tools and items they carry. I like to look at all their displays and products out front. There is an area in the front of the store that has such creative and pretty jewelry and goodies.

This is genuinely my hometown hardware store. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and they have the neatest little gift shop inside, which I only recently discovered. Ace has just about everything we need for a weekend home project.

They are always nice and very helpful when looking for items you need to purchase the employee even helped Google what I was looking for to make sure I purchase the right item if it is something you buy on a regular basis and you speak with them they will check into ordering it and keep it in stock down. Side is I always spend to much money when I go to Hawkins Ace Hardware.

Every time we go here the people are very friendly and eager to help. Went here on a Sunday to pick up a few things met the owner and bought a nice stihl battery push mower he was great guy to work with and VERY helpful.

We shop here a lot. Most of the employees are nice. Some have no response when I say have a nice or awesome day. I hope it's just because they didn't hear me. Has happened more than a few time. Otherwise, we like this location.

This Ace has got it going on!! They are extremely helpful!! They always have staff walking around asking to help find stuff for you. Prices might be a little higher but well worth it!! Small town hospitality at it highest!!

I really like this store. Having grown up with small town hardware stores, I hated to see them disappear when big box retailers showed up. This Ace has a great selection of items and they are super friendly and helpful. I’ll shop here as long as they are open and I’m alive with money to spend.

My dad purchased something with cash on March 11,2022 he found a better deal else we’re cheaper so had me return with receipt. Was told he couldn’t get cash refund only a store credit gift card which I believe is unfair being none of the products were not opened at all and it was only $149 bucks and some change. If he paid cash why can’t he get cash back literally only a day apart.

Product choices were good, as was the sweet woman who helped me find what I needed, but the counter staff lady/cashier was rude and didn't even acknowledge me. I wondered if she was deaf until she started chatting w other staff members. Completely ignored me. Definitely not what I love about East Texas and its people. Wouldn't shop there again solely based on her and her demeanor.

I had been searching for a particular chainsaw and found it online at this Ace Hardware Store in Hawkins. The owner Paul matched the online advertised price and was very helpful with my purchase over the phone. Since his store was over one and half hours away and I couldn’t make it there before closing, he offered to meet me halfway on his way home. He showed up with my purchase and even went over all the features. It’s hard to find people now a days that will go out of their way to take care of their customers.! I highly recommend Paul and his store!

I went in to buy 2 sponges, you know bucket sponges for washing cars etc. The store was nice, customer service good but when I got rung up and 2 sponges (4×6) were almost $15 dollars, I was shocked at the price for such 2 simple items I could have got at the dollar store or waL mart and didn't think they'd be that much. Unbelievable and way overpriced.

I love having this store in my community. Their staff - especially in plumbing - is extraordinary. They figured out a solution for me that both Lowe’s and Home Depot had not seen when I asked them before this Ace Hardware store was opened. Their solution cost me $9 for a part replacement rather than the $200+ solution of total replacement offered by the bigger stores. It is well worth your time to shop in this store. What I save in time and gas more than makes up the minor price difference in some items. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

Always somebody around asking you if you need help finding something. The store is pretty well stocked. Prices are higher than you can find elsewhere, but the convenience and service goes a long way towards take the sting out of the little extra cost.

I love the store, love the customer service, however the prices are just outrageous and when I want to buy something it becomes a wish after seeing the prices. Then I have to go to Walmart.
