Staff are personable and provide great customer service. This store offers "old school" customer-friendly service by offering to help take your groceries to your vehicle. The store is always clean.If you need assistance with buying lottery tickets or other items at the customer service counter, you may have a wait because a clerk is not normally present.The negatives about this store involves the quality of their produce and overall pricing. Be prepared to pay significantly more at this store than other organizations. With that in mind, it is unfortunate that their produce does not last long after purchase given their price point. Purchased strawberries that went rotten after two day...this was disappointing. Not many options for gluten-free vegetarians once produce is taken out of the picture.Overall the reason for the three stars is because customer service is top notch and you earn points towards gas if you're a rewards member.The pharmacy is not my favorite. You have to call to verify your prescriptions are there, even if the medical professional calls them in. Was told to come back because they weren't sure if the medication was on their delivery truck. Went back and it wasn't there....go figure.

Much appreciated.Original:I was in town visiting family for the 4th of July weekend. I made 3 trips into the store in one day (items kept getting added to our list). I had the pleasure of meeting cashier Samantha B. (I will assume there are multiple Samantha's because other name tags didn't have a last name letter attached). I asked her how old she was because her mannerism for dealing with the difficult customer in front of me was outstanding. I for sure thought that she was older than 16 years old. She was articulate, patient, kind and helpful with them. Then came me, there was an item or two that I could not find and she directed me exactly to where it was and allowed me to run very quick to get the item I was looking for. I didn't hold anybody up in the line, I had a lot of items going through the register.Please thank her again for me. Her kindness and upbeat personality was what I needed and very much appreciated. I made sure when I had to return in the same day I found her line.Samantha B definitely has management written all over her. She is an asset to your company.

Great store. My only complaint is they took out the reduced produce cooler. My family and many others are really help out by those reduced products. I was told corporate people came in and made the decision to remove it. To hell with corporate. They might better learn the community they are clearly not serving. A lot of people aren't happy about that.

Okay so since I posted this I've learned, it is possible that my instacart shopper pick the food up at a brookshire's in Tyler and brought it to Hawkins, even though that's really not what they're supposed to do. So this burnt food that I keep getting from brookshire's may not be from the one in Hawkins. So if the instacart shoppers are shopping like they're supposed to be it's supposed to be frim the local store, But I can't guarantee that.Shopped with insta-cart at 7pm. 25% of my 15 item list was outta stock. No avocados. Only green bananas, no 4 packs of quest chipsx2(didn't have enough single bags to get 8), no plain rotisserie chicken(got garlic instead, it was burned black, used nonfood grade rubber band to tie legs, tasted like cooked rubber, not actually rotisserie but just baked), no cauliflower chips.Last order same problem with quest chips, no usb cables, brown spot bananas only, rubberband used to tie the feet of my rotisserie chicken, that isn't actually cooked rotisserie style.Shopper has to ask for 2 liter dr peppers everytime. Limited healthy options in the deli, limited options for low sodium items, tortillas kept in a different area than the rest of the bread. store has an "ethnic section" which incredibly racists to separate the foods, and top it off its filled with americanized versions of ethnic food, and not much else. (Old el paso.... get a rope.) But i know complaining does no good, its a small town and they have no competition, so customer service takes a back seat. Seriously they are not in business to serve you the customer, and if you dont like it, you can drive 30 minutes to the next small town where they don't care about you either.Yes insta-cart can refund me money, but they are not the company responsible for creating the issues. Yes, sure they could have pulled the sleeve back to see if you were serving burned chicken, but why would they, most place known not to serve burned food. But putting that aside, I'm not looking for any compensation, i just want to not have to worry, or feel like i have to tip my shopper extra every time because they had to go above and beyond to get my groceries. When i tried to get a usb c cable from you, they stopped at another store on the way to complete my order. That's true customer service.Ill update my review when my shoppers let me know that they are no longer having to ask for items every time. Ill add, normally i dont shop so late in the day, and the outta stocks, or not on the shelves are better but still present.

If you're into buying soda, this is not the place to purchase it. The weekly specials are usually good, and the 4 for $20 meat section is OK. Must be a rewards member for discounts, but you get points to save on gas so it's not all bad. Propane exchange is the best I have seen in Hawkins unless you get your tank refilled.

The Hawkins store is consistently clean and, by the standards of today's hit and miss supply chain, is relatively well stocked. Prices are not always the most competitive, but ad specials are usually pretty good and seniors get a discount on Tuesdays and Thursdays. And there's also reward points for discounted gas.

The Grocery, Deli, and Pharmacy are all willing to help .... friendly people. Store is always clean and neat. Good selection of fresh produce and meats. I love the weekly sales....especially the buy one get one for a penny sales. This is my store. I also love the new self checkout. Employee guided me thru that too. If I have a small amount of groceries this is easy and quick.

I used to love this store, but I hate the self checkout when you have more than 10-15 items. I spent a lot of money last weekend and had a lot of items and even though there were about 4 or 5 lanes with the lights on there was only 1 checker. I had to use the self checkout and take everything to my car and bring cart back in. If they are going to make me work for free when I come to spend my money there they should at least give a discount to use the self checkout. If I have less than 15 items, then it's no big deal but a half of cart or more is to much to use self checkout.

The store is nice,clean, and well put together. However some of the staff is kinda rude not all are though. Also I witnessed Elita or Alita (however you spell her name) being very rude to a elderly man who just simply looking for some over the counter medication that he previously called about and someone told him they had it but turns out they didn’t. She approached him in a very rude manner and spoke rudely to him. When I tried to help she also spoke rudely to me as if I don’t know what I’m talking about not saying I know everything but I’m a whole nurse I’m sure I know a little about over counter medications but anyway the point I’m trying to make is be a little more friendly even if you don’t want to be.

Great local small town store for all your basic kitchen needs. Not a large selection of produce and meats but adequate for the area. Great sales regularly. I do the bulk of my food shopping here and I have no complaints.

The post below is old but my opinion hasn't changed...great place!This review is for the current Bakery staff:Whoever is making the single serve loaded hamburgers, roast beef sandwiches and smoked turkey club sandwiches, please keep up this vibe I now come by at least once a week!!Would recommend.

I live in Quitman but shop in Mineola or Hawkins. Our Quitman store has no management. The kids working there are too busy talking in their groups about the weekend or what they are doing to do after work. It's shameful how this store has gone downhill when it used to be great years ago.

This is a fantastic little Brookshires we found while staying at Jellystone. They are well staffed, clean, and friendly. Wish I had more money to buy the treats over at the bakery.

LOVE this store! It's alway neat and clean, the employees are very friendly and helpful, product selection is wonderful and the produce is very fresh! The Pharmacy is the BEST! I had many question about taking the Covid Booster and the Pharmacist was SO kind and patient addressing all my concerns and questions. I am so thankful to have such a wonderful place to shop without having to drive 45 minutes to an hour for groceries.

The cashiers and courtesy clerks are very kind. Helpful. We were checking out about 8:30 and were have a nice conversation with our cashiers, when out of no where Aleeta had an out burst. Some one left a deli product on one of the shelves and she picked it up, yelled out who put this here, saying this is 16 dollars down the drain and yelled at the cashiers to be more attentive, at the same time glaring angrily and accusationsal at the cashiers.First off that outburst the tension in the air just ruined our night. We got very high guarded and tensed up.Secondly, management does not need to chastise any employee regardless what their rank is much less in front of customers.I asked another cashier on the way out if upper management was aware, and that person said Mr. Crater is aware of it. As you can see this is not the first complaint on Aleeta, she needs coaching, or have a position in the back thats not customer facing. Or needs to be let go, that outburst was nothing short of being verbally abusive. Do better Brookshires.

Great when you just need to pick up a few things. Regular prices are kind of high, but they also have great sale prices occasionally on specific items. like I just picked up New York strip steak for $5.99 a pound what a deal!

Good place except management will belittle you in front of other employees and make you feel like trash for anything you say or doI was working night shift and had been accused by my manager of sleeping around and having flings and the other one who's his best friend would constantly attack me for being sad or happy or for joking around
