Super friendly!My father in law took our pit/lab Tinkerbell here to get her fixed as she was displaying signs of territorial aggression with our other animals.I was super upfront and honest about what she’s been doing and they did not treat her any different (obviously with some caution) and they said she did absolutely fine while there 😭 ❤️They checked in on how she was doing and I could not have dreamed of a better experience.Our family vet recently retired and I was DREADING looking for another vet I could trust with my babies… however the front desk person at my family vet recommended here. I am so very thankful I made the drive because there’s nothing I love more in the world than my fur kids.They did so well with Tinkerbell I’ve been recommending them to friends and my best friend started going there as well and she similarly has had a great experience!Highly highly recommend ❤️

Called yesterday to board my dog. Was told it’s 18 dollars a day and they have a small set up of indoor kennels, a few outdoor and an outside play area that isn’t attached. Was told my dog would be taken out daily by a staff member. Was told they would call me back in a bit after lunch and the rest of staff returned. Didn’t get a call. Not a big deal they probably just got busy. I call today and the woman on the phone tells me they don’t board at all… which is funny since their google page says they do and so did the man I spoke to yesterday. I inform her of that and she puts me on hold. Then instead of apologizing for being wrong she told me an excuse of how she has to wait to talk to her vet to see if they are accepting boarding right now… but I thought yall weren’t yet up to board ever, ma’am? Don’t bother getting my info, I’ll find a place that’s competent and not liars.

Always competent help. Will work me in for emergency. Perhaps most telling, Doctor was as upset as us when we had to put our best boy down after trying everything. Def treat you like family!!

Great vet! He was so nice and extremely respectful! He was so good with my 85 lbs English bull dog/pit mix. Took care of all his needs and it was actually reasonably price for vet office. His nurse was great too!

I was so surprised and pleased when I took my 9 yr old dog (new patient) to Dr. Lackey for a checkup and get his prescription allergy meds. He checked him over thoroughly, discussed his issues w/suggestions. No pressure to have any procedures done. Very comfortable atmosphere, my dog was calm & everyone was relaxed around him. The prices are super reasonable! He's also a large animal vet who's made farm calls for our animals. I believe he truly cares about the wellbeing of all animals with a realistic knowledge of cost and quality of life.I do hope they can get their driveway/parking a bit smoother at the clinic.

The customer service is lacking. They can be belittling. I do agree with another reviewer on that aspect for sure. I can handle a vet that lacks personality, as long as they do right by my animals. And THAT is why I’m giving a one star review. I brought tame calves in, that have been run through a chute system many times and are fed by hand. Rather than even trying to get them to go in gently, like touching their hind end or tail, they IMMEDIATELY began shocking them. I don’t have to shock my calves, I’ve never shocked my calves, and I will never return to a vet that their FIRST resort for moving a calf is to shock them. I stepped in and pushed them through myself.

Very competent vet and efficient staff, but not warm/fuzzy. I usually drop my dogs off and go do errands, as my wheelchair limits my mobility and access to small exam rooms. Dr. Lackey is a good vet, but I don't get a *people person* feeling about him. It does not affect his skill dealing with the animals, no matter how cantankerous mine may be. This is a small and large animals practice in a rural community, so the vet also calls on the commission company and local farmers and ranchers. My only *meh* is the clinic policy on euthanizing a pet: they do not encourage the owner to be present. I think they put those back to the end of the day unless it is an emergency and do it then. If I am saying goodbye to a loved pet, I want to be there.

Helpful, friendly staff but office can be too busy to provide basic shots and heartworm testing. I popped in on a Friday and they offered to schedule an appointment for Tuesday. It didn't jive with my schedule so I ran up to Hico instead.

Tried to charge $500-$800 for a c section on a Chihuahua preg 1 puppy went to Goldthwaite $ 200.. Never go back. Staff treats u as if u are below them and dont listen..
