The 3 stars is for the flies and also a bit dirty atmosphere. Also the staff was younger and disorganized. Not very inviting or helpful for questions. The food is amazing. You want crunch with fried food? Check! Coleslaw a bit sweet (yummy), fresh slaw and a bite of pepper. Fish was crispy outside and flaky inside. Mac and cheese is creamy cheese sauce. Perfect! Cheese steak sandwich; great bun choice, the meat was tasty and savory it had onions with mushrooms mixed and cheese. Crispy curly fries. Cheese kolache is just yummy! It was a great find and marking this a visit again.

Stop in for a quick lunch and got a cheese burger with tots. The burger was ok at best. The thick bun was the best part. I bought me a few fruit kolaches to take home. Breakfast Kolache’s, pastries, and deserts are there special and are awesome which is a 5 star +. I highly recommend this place for a breakfast stop.

Went for breakfast today. Arrived at 9:30am but by the time we were helped it was 9:45am. Tried to order breakfast sandwich but was told breakfast was NO LONGER being served. I even showed the girl it was 9:46am. Signs posted inside say breakfast sandwich is served till 10am…… Was extremely disappointed in the service today

Food is subpar, my kids enjoyed their grilled cheese. Fries were good. Don’t get the frito pie unless your used to eating them with soggy Fritos and just meat, no chili. Tried to swap it out for something else but they told me I had to pay which I get but if a customer is not satisfied with what they received at least make an attempt to make it right. The Fritos are not soggy out of the bag, my plate must have been sitting there for a awhile before being brought out. Out of the very few places there is to stop to eat in Hallettsville, this one will be crossed off my list. Stick to pastries and breakfast kolaches.

A really great family owned bakery with lots of tasty options. Many of the items are original family recipes. It is a place the locals go and there are multiple locations. I recommend the cream cheese kolaches. Delicious!

Came here for lunch today. Ordered what should have been a HOT bowl of stew. It came out cold.I asked the tall blonde lady at the counter if they could warm it up.She told me "There's a microwave over there, you can warm it up yourself. They're too busy playing back there."I paid for HOT food. NOT COLD FOOD.If I wanted microwave warmed food, I'd have eaten leftovers at home..POOR SERVICE

Came into Hallettsville, tx looking for something local & delicious & this place did not disappoint! Not only is it a bakery where they have all aorys of fresh warm bread & pastries too, but it's a really great restaurant to dine in too. I got the grilled chicken burger with curly fries & o my gosh best decision ever, will be coming back for sure! 👌💯

Was not expecting a big lunch menu, but they have one.Really Nice people, Food was Very tasty.I had Beef tips on rice with Oakra and Pinto beans. My wife had a Ruben.Bith were good We also took some variety sliced pies home for later.We will return here for sure.

I normally get a burger when I visit Kountry Bakery in Hallettsville but today I got the lunch special which had 2 hearty baked Pork Chops, red potatoes and cabbage. Also came with a roll and desert. It was so good. Portions were a good amount. Well worth the price. I went thru the drive thru and the lady working the window was helpful and very nice. Highly recommend this business.

Stopped in for a snack because it had a fruit we had never tried. Because it was late in the day they only had one option for it but there were plenty of other desserts to choose from. I also picked up a 3 pack of cookies for only $.75 so that was great. The other items we picked up were delicious also. They do serve meals here but we were only looking for snacks.

What a great place! This was our first visit. Great variety of baked goods and other foods. The sausage rolls were delicious. The people were friendly, the place was really clean, and the prices were reasonable. Nice seating area to sit and have breakfast or lunch. We'll definitely be back for sandwiches or burgers for lunch!

Food is AMAZING. Staff is Very Friendly. Lot of youngsters working, so sometimes we have to be patient. The prices need to be a bit lower. I give it 4 STARS on account of the prices. Very good!My favorite foods that I had this time were the fresh scrambled eggs (they absolutely needed some salt! I added some at the table) and of course the pastries are always wonderful ^_^Thank you!

The burger buns are delicious 😋. Chicken salad/salad was wonderful. People are so friendly. Exciting find on our way home from vacation and we will definitely look forward to returning every year.

Stopped in to get breakfast. Sat at a table for several minutes. Waited and waited. Employees never acknowledged my existence. Left hungry. Only 2 other tables occupied.Perhaps another place might appreciate my money.

This place is a family favorite for Kolaches over the years. The fruit kolaches are always great, fresh, and generous filling. The sausage Kolaches are always great because they use a traditional sausage instead of the cheap sausage.My 2 complaints are #1 you have to get there early, or they'll sell out of alot items. #2, they have gone up significantly in price. (I understand things go up, but they have increased their prices aggressively compared to other bakery places). IE 1 doz fruit & 1 doz sausage Kolaches will cost you $40+. They don't offer discounts by ordering by the doz.
