This is a nice, clean store and the employees are friendly and helpful. I needed assistance finding the candy and had to ask someone (it is in the pharmacy by the cosmetics--why?) but she was able to tell me where it was. It took forever to find the French fries because they were not next to the frozen vegetables but were in one of those open islands by the meat. I went up and down numerous aisles trying to find sparkling water and happened randomly upon it next to the dried fruit after I had already given up. Fortunately, I was not pressed for time and just viewed my shopping list like a scavenger hunt. Some extra signage might be beneficial. There were plenty of self checkout lanes open, so that part was easy. Once I learn where everything is, it will be an enjoyable store to shop in.

I usually find everything that I need here. It’s a great place to shop and just like every other place around here…everyone is friendly and ready to help you with whatever you need help with. I’ve had experiences several times here when Somebody was trying to help me and they didn’t know the answer so they quickly found someone else to help me. Every time I go into Walmart here in Gatesville I have a great experience. Everyone is so kind and helpful and like I said, if the first person can’t help you then they will quickly go find someone else that can help you. That is how much they care about their customers.

The wait time isn't typically long in all my experience in Gatesville Walmart. The staff is always nice and friendly. The curbside here is the best curbside in all curbside orders I've done with multiple companies. I won't shop with HEB unless I have to because the curbside at Gatesville Walmart is always quick, easy, and they don't blow up my phone like HEB does if I'm slightly late one day and then make me wait 30 minutes to get the order once I arrive.

I don't want to sound like a broken record, but it's a Walmart. The management treats employees extremely poorly (Go figure right?), it's essentially a revolving door. They aren't much beneficial to the local area, as shopping at HEB, Or Leon River for groceries definitely yields higher quality and a much better experience. And they don't care much for up keeping the location (Leaks everywhere). Prices are sky high even compared to other Walmarts (I bought a Shop vac for my business at one point, it was $90 at this Walmart. When I had to replace it a month later due to a part breaking, I found myself in Killeen. The same Shop Vac was selling for $34.99 in Killeen. I've seen this discrepancy across multiple items). I also found a pair of headphones that had been ran over with a forklift. Thinking I could buy it for a heavy discount and use it for parts as the tech savvy person I am, I went and asked the electronics lead. I was told there was no discount and I would need to pay the full price of $90+ for a pair of headphones that was definitely in very rough shape.I also have close contact with at least a dozen prior or current Walmart employees. All of which have pointed out numerous problems with this establishment's management. A name brought up more times than needed was a member of management that goes by the name "Fanny". At least 7 prior employees that I know of personally quit specifically because of issues with this manager. So if you're looking for a good paying job in the area, make sure to look closer and tread lightly. There's definitely better paying options in the area that have more to offer. They also have a tendency to cut hours drastically, lowering some employees hours to as little as 8 hours a week instead of taking proper care of their employees.From here, don't let me get started with the Automotive department. I found myself in a tough spot and pulled the trigger on a full set of tires from this Walmart. They took my car, and installed all 4 within a few hours. Everything seemed to go well. I was told if I hit any nails or the such on the highway, it would be covered under warranty of the tires. Well, I came back 8 months later with a leaky tire due to a very small nail that had punctured it. I tried calling at least a dozen times and it was very clear they did not want to answer the phone (It would ring, but then it would randomly hang up. Each time it hung up it was definitely not automated or directly to voicemail because it would ring for longer or shorter other times. One of the calls hung up immediately after it began ringing, for reference.) I just decided to show up in person, and they agreed to fix it, having me sit around the store for 2 hours, I went back to automotive to see what the update was. I was told they couldn't get my vehicle on the lift and that they did nothing in those 2 hours, I was out of luck, and had to take it elsewhere. (How did they install all 4 tires on the vehicle before, but can't get it on a lift now?). I drove my vehicle home, pulled off the wheel myself within 15 minutes using a jack, and brought the wheel back to them in person. They agreed to fix it this time as well, but upon finishing they continued to charge me full price for the repair. When I brought up the warranty the employee claimed to know nothing about that and said I would have to pay full price. It was only $15 so I said to hell with it and didn't complain, but I'm making sure I share this experience here for anyone looking to use Walmart Automotive. Do yourself a favor and avoid them if you can, they seem to be understaffed and couldn't care less about the quality of service they provide.

I got hired here over a week ago and still haven't started. How can it take this long to start working someone? Especially when they actually want to come to work on a daily basis. I can't keep jerkin around waiting on you guys to decide to work me, I mean, how do you hold a position open that long?? Oh well. I went ahead and put more applications in at other businesses and there's two that I would leave any job for to work there. One is because it pays 32 dollars an hour and two, very fast hiring process. But if anyone calls me for a interview and I get hired on the spot, sorry but I'm taking it. I can't pay my bills with the promise of a job. You people just take too long with your hiring process. It isn't worth it. Not for a measly fourteen dollars an hour. I have a degree in physics too and I was willing to work for you guys. You don't know a good one when you have it! I know I'm a dang good worker.

Overall ok it’s Walmart normal things expected out of it shelf’s normally missing what I came for lights on signs out so if that is not a precedent for what your visit will be. I mean come on they don’t even care to fix there signs parking lot needed cleaning restrooms are nasty staff is hit or miss but most are ok gas station could be bigger and more organized

I had my Ram 1500 battery tested, and replaced, at the Gatesville Walmart today. The young man who helped me was so helpful and friendly! The service was super quick!! And he put air in one of my tires that he noticed was low!! :)

Went in for plants....bad need of water. We told service center. Went in next afternoon. NO ONE HAD WATERED STILL. SAD. Wasted money for walmart. CEO would not like this or district mgr. Took our business to woodway.

I bought an automatic sprinkler from this Walmart in the clearance section thinking it would work just sightly damaged or missing parts. In fact it didn't work at all. Why a retailer would sell a product that doesn't even work is beyond me. Store would not refund my money because it was not a clearance item. Be aware, the clearance tags look identical to this tag that was on the product. Make sure it says clearance on the tag. I feel it is a scam. There is no warning that these items are non-refundable. Hopefully this helps someone else not go through the same thing.

I love our Gatesville Walmart, however, it would be nice if there were more employees to help the customer find that needed item. Or not have to stand at the fabric station over 20 minutes to get some much needed material/fabric cut from the roll. Not everything can be done by using the Walmart app, ... Hire more people and maybe pay them more. Customer service equals SALES !!!

For a little small town, they do a very good job. They have their shelves full. If they do not have it in stock you can request it in the Walmart app and pick it up later in the day or later or even get delivery directly to your house for free. I love my Walmart app. It's better than Amazon which used to be my favorite online shopping option.

I'm not even going to rate this store because for one they Never have the shelf stocked , 2...you ask for help and are told sorry I can't I've got something else I need to do and 3... if you go though self check out they hover over you to make sure your not taking anything an lesson too your phone conversation...I mean I understand people take things but not everyone and it's rude for them to be like not even an arm length away from you when your on the phone.... if I didn't have to go into this walmart I wouldn't but with only 2 grocery stores in this town you more are less have too

This location has a fuel station, but it's only cheap if u buy regular grade gas. It jumps 40 cents btwn grades, so premium is way more expensive than other places. Inside the store is completely typical for Walmart.

Your average Walmart except there is hardly any lanes open in the evening so wise to go earlier. Waited a while ibself checkout which took a while with only 1 other worker there helping everyone's issues. Just need more cashiers in the evening and would be much better service and business.

I purchased a hair dryer/styler that styles as you dry. I got it home and there was someone else's hair all over the brush part. So obviously they just put stuff back on the shelf from returns without even checking the product. What if the previous person had lice?? Just total laziness on the part of Walmart and it's staff
