First time visit. We were immediately greeted and advised the process of ordering, which was nice. Hubby ordered French toast & I ordered ham omelet with biscuit. Omelet delicious...one of the best I've eaten. I would skip the biscuit. Luckily, hubby shared some French toast, which was good. Very nice people who work there. Very cute, eclectic restaurant.

We heard this was the place to go for breakfast so we stopped on our way out if town. Atmosphere was quaint and friendly! I had the BLT which was as expected so I was happy. My husband, on the other hand, had the Smuggler and the hostess recommended the sausage gravy topping. He said the burrito was fabulous but ruined by the sausage gravy. If you are a sausage gravy fan, do not order this as you will be disappointed. He said the sausage in the gravy was so heavily coated with flour, you couldn't taste the sausage. Due to that, the gravy did not have that sausagy flavor you are looking for. My husband is a cook and true foodie, so I trust his review.

We enjoyed our lunch at Shykatz. My husband had The Reuben and I had the Turkey and Avocado Meltdown...both were delicious. Excellent service from everyone in the restaurant and interesting ambiance, too. Thank you!

First morning in Galveston at the Doubletree on Seawall. Did not want the $22 hotel buffet. Found this. Great place. Friendly. With a good selection of breakfast items and a bakery too! I had the special french toast and my wife the breakfast burrito (with out beans)good portions and some novel items.Wheelchair accessibility: 3 -4 steps to enter.

Great breakfast! I got the Nancys 1-2-3 with french toast. Came out very quick! Price is very reasonable for amount of food you get. Cups, drinks, silverware, and to go items are accessible to customers to get themselves. Nice ladies bring out food to you. Menus are on left side when you walk in in a bucket, and you order at the register. Clean tables, a few outdoor seating areas to eat and looks to be dog friendly outside. Great place and will be back!

First time here, and it's an amazing the service is good , the atmosphere is friendly, I ordered the Double Bubble medium well. The fries have slim to no salt, which is perfect. I hate a salty fries. I'm a tea drinker so I had unsweetened tea with lemonade in it. I also got a piece of the 3 layered strawberry cake which taste like there is cream cheese frosting , strawberry syrup and fresh strawberries OMG! I definitely will be coming back ..Kid-friendliness: They have a seat swing located outside the front for you to sit and swing , so a kid would love that also the menu is full of fun times to do while waiting for the food.

A very busy little restaurant and bakery. We came in about 11am on a Tuesday, but luckily was able to get a table shortly after we ordered. The menus are to the left as you walk in on a counter. Once you figure out what you want, pay for the order, they'll take your name and bring the order to you calling your name. The sodas are in cans/bottles, water and tea (sweet and unsweet) are fountain. We waited about 30 minutes for the food, which might be a long time to some, but I assure you it's worth it. I had the Smugglers w/sausage gravy, and my spouse and son had the Cinnamon Pankcakes. We were more than happy to wait that long for that quality of food! The staff was very kind and everyone was hard working to make sure all guests were taken care of. The men's bathroom was in excellent shape and clean. Wonderful brunch experience overall!

Shykatz is a super eclectic local eatery tucked away in a neighborhood.The atmosphere is almost overstimulating in that there are so many interesting things to look at that you don’t know where to start.The food and service was very good. This is a place I will return to if in the area again

This breakfast spot was super cute and laid back. Luckily we arrived between the breakfast and brunch crowds so our wait was minimal and food was served quickly. The food was delicious, no frills, and fresh. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and was pleasantly surprised they have the option for a croissant. They also offered pepper jack cheese. Both of which I typically don't find together. The breakfast potatoes weren't my preferred style, they were too thick but still delicious.I ordered the hot chocolate and it was made so beautifully!!Drinks and utensils are self serve. There are a lot of funny, cute signs to read too. Also they offer outdoor seating which is perfect for the fall weather we're currently having.Highly recommended for a drop in spot. Family friendly too.

The smuggler burrito was the star of the show, the best I’ve ever had. I’d been craving a good breakfast burrito forever and finally found one worthy of my approval! They fry the whole thing, making everything inside a melty delicious mess! 😍 The Dara egg salad sandwich was delicious as well, crispy bacon and warm buttered toast contrasting the cold egg salad, simple perfection! I did finish them both. 🤤The chicken strips and fries were very bland however and the seating inside is extremely cramped and awkward 🤔 lol but the food was good and arrived quick! 😍

This place is great! The staff is very nice and accommodating. When you walk in, you get the vibe you're in someone's home. A very warm and cozy feeling. The food is fantastic and with reasonable prices. My favorite was picking out my own coffee mug and grabbing my coffee. It was nice touch which reminded me of what I do every morning at my house. I will most definitely stop by here again if I ever come back to Galveston. We miss you already.Vegetarian options: They have a few vegetarian plates available!

While searching for a breakfast place on the island, I came across a review for this place and the menu looked great so I thought I would try it. I decided on the Tomelette. I figured hey, it's an omelette right?No. It was actually the best damn omelette I have ever eaten. Perfectly cooked, stuffed with ham, mushrooms, and cheese and then covered in more cheese. It was delicious and served with a double side of perfectly cooked bacon and the best salsa I have ever eaten. Seriously I could have drank it out of the little cup.I can't recommend this place enough and can't wait to go back and try more of the menu.

Discovered this really cute and yummy establishment yesterday! We each had the turkey avocado sandwich on their jalapeno bread - fabulous! The bacon was perfectly cooked and so flavorful! Combination of ingredients was spot on!A slice of chocolate cake and piece of sopapilla cheesecake finished things off! We'll definitely be back & soon!

We were visiting the area and tried Shykatz for breakfast for the first time. We really wanted to love it but unfortunately, it was a miss for us. Loved all the decor but the food was really just meh.Buttermilk pancakes were not fluffy at all and looked like ones I would make at home. The 2 pieces of ham on the side looked to be one larger piece that was cut into 4 pieces and 2 being my serving. The ham tasted good and you could taste vanilla in the pancakes but not a good, fluffy buttermilk pancake I was expecting. For the price, I would have expected more and better. The orange juice in a plastic bottle tasted like it might have been cold, then warm or room temp and back to cold - just had an off taste and it was definitely not being expired (first thing I checked).Hubby's veggie omelet was...fine. Again, nothing special with no seasoning at all being detected.On the plus side, in addition to the fun decor, the staff was friendly and food was served quickly. While we are staying nearby, we won't be going back based on the food.

Welcomed in like family and served up fast! Our breakfast was exactly as they said ‘usual food prepared exceptionally well’. We had a breakfast quesadilla and the katastrophic (gluten free). Huge portions - we could have ordered one and shared! The breakfast potatoes were superb - just a touch crunch on the edge to make them fun to eat!

Love eating here! We found this spot on Yelp on our first trip to Galveston a few years ago. It had become our go-to spot before before and after every cruise we go on from Galveston. The food is always fresh and delicious. My go-to is the veggie omelet with potatoes and my hubby's is the Migos. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.Dietary restrictions: I have dairy and gluten allergies and they were able to accommodate me.

Checked this place out for breakfast because it’s dog-friendly and we wanted our bub to come with.Staff was so welcoming and super friendly from the moment we arrived. They even brought our boy a water bowl!!!Seating is first come, first serve and the inside of the restaurant is a bit crowdy, so just keep that in mind. Outdoor area is chill and pretty clean. Food is bomb!10/10 recommend :-)

A gem worth waiting for. The waiting process was a 20 min wait. Expect the wait, for this well worth placed. Send the more patient person to wait and order. Outdoor covered picnic areas along the building was suitable. The food was great and prepared beautifully. Bathroom cleaned and well entertained by fun signage. Like I said, a gem worth waiting for.Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly shareable dishes. Large portions. Foam cups with lid and straw. High chair if needed.

So this is a combination review. Three stars for the coffee and five stars for the atmosphere=4. I somehow got the impression from my Google map search for a coffee shop, that that's what this was because somebody said it was the best coffee on the island. The place is very cozy, the staff is very friendly and it is, indeed, like going into somebody's home. As for the coffee, they have a Folgers coffee machine that is self-serve. So not a coffee shop. The people around me look like the food they're eating is absolutely delicious though. This one's on me because I should have read more lol but the place is very cozy and looks like great home-cooked food

Our first time here and they did not disappoint! My husband had the Smuggler smothered with red chili, and bacon and sausage inside. He ate it all and was so satisfied!My biscuits and gravy was perfect because the biscuits are homemade.We kept laughing along with the decor! So many cute things to read and look at on the walls.A perfect blend of great food and interesting decor. Everyone was nice and inviting too!
