Such happy feelings here! They had what I had been searching everywhere for with no luck (Milkweed for the monarch’s). So many cats that live there. Wide selection! The dark-haired girl at the front that helped me was very nice

(X-posting review from Mike’s Garden Center in Southlake where we purchased our plants)Don’t make our mistake, go to better nurseries who have better quality plants, more importantly, go for the better customer service.Mike’s sold us aphid infested greens & refuses to stand behind their product or offer a reasonable solution to help us fix their mistake.Paul, the manager who I spoke to after a 10 minute hold, was immediately skeptical of my story, and claimed that no customer this year has called about a similar issue. That is despite the fact that their first two rows of greens were noticeably eaten up and infested for at least a 2 to 3 weeks. Paul claims that “they have a spraying program”(doesn’t seem very effective). Paul quickly made it clear that there was nothing he would do to offer customer service or make the situation right. Paul’s customer service was to 1. cast doubt on my story, 2. claim that any pests would be resolved by their in-house spraying, 3. offer no assistance or solution.I’ve shopped at Mikes for two years now and probably bought 150+ plants from them, and about about 100 bags of soil and compost. During that time, we’ve enjoyed working with Christopher, Daniel, the other in-store employees, and the folks in the loading zone. Paul, however, has never gone out of his way to be helpful. In fact, several times when I visited the store in the early morning hours & was waiting by the checkout, Paul felt the need to radio to an employee somewhere else in the store to come assist me. Despite the fact that he was standing right in front of me & the register.Again, there are better nurseries, with higher quality plants and competent managers elsewhere. Don’t make our mistake. All photos taken after 14 day+ regime of Medina Neem oil & manual removal of aphids. Marigolds placed nearby for pest deterrence. Plants treated to be more pest resilient with Agrispon. Garret pro juice + liquid molasses + liquid humus as fertilizer treatments with alternating Tomato-Tone applications. We have made every attempt to have hardy, well treated & pruned plants.

If you like plants, you'll love Mike's! They have everything you're looking for, plus the stuff you didn't even know existed. If you like flowers, they have everything in season. Want edibles? They carry a plethora of veggie, fruit, and herb variations. Ask about the Pineapple Mint, it smells incredible! Garden decor, pots, water fountains, soil, sprays, and other supplies - this is the all in one shop. Plan to walk through aisles and aisles to see what they have, or ask the super knowledgeable staff, and they will get you taken care of in no time!

There are so many options of plants there. If you want quality and variety Mike's Garden Center is the place to go. I love my banana tree I got there!

I purchased a $15 salvia and after I got it potted the main portion of the plant broke off, I brought it back to Mike's and asked for a replacement, just an hour after purchase. Charlie told me he wouldn't normally replace it because "when I left it wasn't broken". I'm writing this review because Lowe's and Home Depot would replace the plant with no questions or smart alec remarks. This place needs customer service training.

Mikes is wonderful! It’s has all the feel of a local garden shop with tremendous options! Trees, veggies, flowers, tools, chemicals, pottery, decorations, and more! Ask for help and you’ll get it. Prices are very fair. Avoid the box stores and go to a local!

Bought two Sky pencil holly shrub trees which had been oddly marked down with a few yellow leaves. Still spent $250 on the pair. We got them home and the leaves continued to turn yellow. We planted them, followed all the instructions for caring for them, watering them, soil prep etc but they still continued to die. We even bought fungicide to try and bring them back. After completely dying we called and the lady who answered the phone was very rude and told me I didn’t water them right and that they don’t guarantee their plants. I’m now out close to $300 and a lot of time spent caring for these bad shrubs. Do not buy from them! It’s at your own risk! They don’t care about doing the right thing by customers.

My absolute favorite place for a variety of plants but their vegetable garden selection is FIRE! Gene is the absolute best!

Great selection, but everything appears to be marked way WAAAAYYYY up, with a sign that says "___% off" bringing things down to a still-overly-inflated price and things like a little metal bistro set for $800 or tiny sundials for $139, when you can find the exact same thing on Amazon for exactly $61. Crazy crazy pricing. Too bad, because their selection was really good.

Lots of choices, beautiful plants, holiday and garden decor BUT in my honest opinion they were very pricey even for the smallest and simplest things. I was disappointed and left without purchasing anything.

We bought two Red Dragon Japanese a maple trees. Charlie told us they were dormant and would come back to life in Spring. They look the same today as they did when we bought them in the winter. We called and Charlie said he would come look at them a few weeks ago. He did not come. Today we brought the trees in to show them to him. The man working there pointed to the “NO RETURNS! NO EXCHANGES!” sign. When I said we won’t be shopping here any longer. He simply shrugged his shoulders.

Visited Mikes Garden Center for the second time. They have a great selection and their plants are well cared for. My advice to future shoppers…buyer beware of the pricing. On both visits plants that were indicated by signage to be on sale were sold at full price by the cashier.Advice to Mike, please be more specific when you place sale signs, so to eliminate confusion and disappointment.

Way overpriced on plants, pottery, and many other things, but they have a great selection to choose from.I primarily buy plant food and disease control products here. They seem to be priced about the same as other nurseries in FTW. But they offer these products in larger packages than offered at other nurseries.

Bought a Bartlett pear tree here about 4 weeks ago, looked a little wilty but figured with watering it would perk back up after it was in the ground. A few days after we planted it, certain branches were looking blackened and some of the leaves were turning black as well. Turns out the tree has fire blight and when I called to ask them about what could be wrong with it when I described the issue, I was told I just need to water it more and it will be fine. I asked about a return or exchange policy and was told they didn't have one. I will not buy any fruit trees from Mike's in the future with no way of knowing they are healthy.

Well, first time here and no signage by the road so we almost passed it. The place looked a little tired with the plants being very overgrown and needed some attention. They had a lot of variety but everything was pushed together making them leggy. Most of plant pricing was average to slightly higher than most nurseries. They did have items on sale but the signage was on the door and not on the plants so it makes it hard to see what the price is. The sloping walkways were a little hard to navigate and slippery, especially after they just watered them. There was one guy at the checkout that seemed nice and greeted us. Overall this place good be a lot better if they had a few more staff to keep the plants up, straighten out the rows, add signage and did some minor improvements to the grounds. Maybe it was a bad timing coming off the hot summer but first impressions tell a picture. Maybe the spring is the time to come when everything is fresh.

The lady at checkout was super rude and overcharged us. After I questioned our reciept she got her pen and highlighted what she charged and stated she didn't. I went with my pink pen and explained we had nothing for that amount, she stated she didn't overcharge us and walked away from us as I was trying to explain and talk to her. The gentlemen that was helping us stood next to us confused as well. (he was super helpful and friendly) She charged us 9 items when I only purchased 8. To avoid confrontation, I left because I knew the situation would escalate. He rudeness, lack of caring to listen, and let me show her what was on our cart shows the type of service. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT CAUSE THE IDOIT THERE DOESNT KNOW HOW TO DO HER JOB. You can look at the receipt yourselves. 9 items charged when I only took home 8.

This is by far the best garden center I've found so far in DFW. The staff are extremely nice and happy to help you find anything or answer any questions. Excellent selection of plants, seeds, fertilizer, anything that you need for your yard. This will be my go-to place going forward, especially because they're so extremely friendly and happy to answer all of my stupid questions. You wouldn't know it was there unless you were looking for it and see the giant bright yellow building. Go check it out. You'll find something you love and won't be disappointed.

YOU CAN’T FIX Poor plant quality-dont waste your $$$$. Shrubs look great at the store, they die when u get them home in the ground. I spent a fortune on their plants last year, and most of them died. Mike’s used to have a guarantee on their plants, but I got different answers from 2 different employees. The manager said ‘since the old man died, return policy is no more’. Another employee told me it is ‘6 months now’. I expressed my concerns about them having poor plant vendors last year, and the manager agreed with me that they did, although she would do nothing to make it right. Do yourself a favor and go to a reputable nursery that is picky about the vendors they buy plants from. Mike’s plants will ultimately die. CHEAP VENDORS= BIGGER PROFIT MARGINS for MIKE’s.

This place customer service is terrible, I came in to buy a bunch of Nellie Stevens Holly, And they charge me double the price, When I told them they made a mistake the owner started raising his voice at me and yelling at me, And making a big scene, He started yelling something about the sale price, refused to listen about me telling him they charged me double for my plans, Really this is how the owner of this place acts, This guy tried to pick a fight with me in the middle store, If you wanna be treated really rude, And have someone yell at you about their mistake, shop here!!!

I love this place. I wish they carried more locally grown stuff. Or made that more prominent. Outside of that, I love everyone who works there. They take such great care of the place and it's a beautiful grounds to spend time wondering around in. The staff is very helpful and are happy to answer questions. Especially up front. Be patient and have fun! It's a great place to get lost.

Good place to find nice plants/flowers. Last year's prices were better though. But there's one complaint I have. The customer service needs improvement! I receive better customer service at Lowe's. When asking if Mike's has a certain plant/flower, the staff rarely take the time to actually show you where its located. Alot of plants are not labeled and I'm fairly new to gardening, so I don't always know what they are. Understand if you're working the register, but should be able to callbon other staff to assist.
