We had been to a few shelters, to find our new family friend and we were absolutely blown away with this place! From start to finish it felt like the animals were being served properly and that we were being treated like royalty with such care and consideration and it really did feel like it was normal for them to act like this.the place was built well and it made sense on how they build it and it was extremely clean

My boyfriend and I went in earlier today with a young kitten we had found at our house the night before. I explained to the lady up front and what appeared to be the supervisor that we had heard the kitten under our house and had managed to catch it later that night. We were immediately met with comments such as “Are you sure it’s not your cat” and “Stray cats don’t act that sweet.”After the papers were signed, the supervisor proceeded to explain that there would likely be officers in our area asking about the kitten, whether to find the owner or to ask if it has been seen on our property before.I’ve never felt so criticized for trying to do the right thing by an animal and make sure it doesn’t end up starved or run over. I’ve worked with several shelters over the years and this is by far the rudest and least professional service I’ve seen.

The lady behind the receptionist desk judged us the second we walked through the door with a stray cat. She kept accusing us of abandonment because we were able to capture the kitten on our own. She also thought a 3-4 week old kitten was 3 months old and was adamant about letting us know that Animal Control "Investigators" were going to come to our neighborhood and question our neighbors to verify that they haven't seen the kitten in our possession before.Haltom City Animal Control needs to hire better staff that care just a little bit more about animals and not automatically assume the worst out of everyone that walks through the door.

I inquired about a catch and release program for stray cats and the staff brushed me off and told me to take feral cats to a another city to fix. This is negligent behavior on behalf of Haltom City. I am trying to help fix a local feral cat problem and their answer was to have someone else take care of it.

I will speak about my experience here. From the first call, I received nothing but kindness. My husband and I were met by the wonderful staff. I cannot thank this place enough. We are so happy to have a new addition to our family. Paperwork was easy, meet and greet was so nice. Big thanks to everyone there!!!

Wow. Just wow. We just moved here from Colorado and caught a stray cat who had just had kittens. Two of the kittens had died so I thought I was doing the right thing by taking them to the humane society. Nope, apparently not. The staff was rude, presumptive, and downright aggressive. I am new here so I did not know cats were free-range and you basically leave them to die. They gave me the third degree, threatened to cite me, and told me they were going to set their "investigstors" on me all over a stray cat with some kittens.. I have never been so disgusted and humiliated for doing what I thought was right. Their hostile behavior had me leaving in tears.

My visit today was great from start to finish. I came in wanting to adopt a cat, one with personality. Immediately I was greeted and the door was held open for me. They let us go back and look at the kitten and cat they had at the time and we got to interact with the kitten and made the decision to adopt. Usually the adoption fee is about $60 but they let us have the adoption for free. We are in love with our new kitten and whenever we decide to get another animal we will definitely return to the Haltom City Animal Services. Very kind and warm people.

These guys are doing a great job. I came in to adopt a small dog and asked which one had been there the longest. I took that one home that day, but his energy levels were off the charts and I couldn't keep up, so I brought him back to exchange him for another dog I saw. I am happy to say that this dog is a great pet and I am happy with the way the staff makes choosing an animal easy and stress free. The only thing I could offer as a suggestion would be to have the website up to date with which pets are available. At the time of my visit, they had no online listings.

Lady upfront was not helpful at all, she just kept repeating the same thing. Instead of answering my questions like could they be helpful in caring for the cat she basically just told me that the cat was mine because I called about getting him help. Tried to tell me he wasn’t sick when I can clearly see that he is. Someone needs to do something about her.

Went to see about adopting a kitten. Fell in love with a tiny little 9 week boy. Staff was very friendly. Very helpful, and even provided us with some goodies as we had never owned a cat before. Small shelter was very clean and all the animals looked very well taken care of. Which is more than I can say for other shelters I've been to and I have lived in 3 different states.

I trapped a skunk that had been getting under our school building. I went down to the office to request a pickup. The staff was friendly and as promised, the officer called within a few hours before coming to the site and quickly and easily took the skunk away. She also gave me some instructions on the best methods of trapping which was helpful.

If I could give zero stars I would. The Staff is very rude, they don’t clean the arena where you meet the pets. I found a dog I was interest in a week prior to going in and called the day before picking him up and asked if he was still there and available for adoption and they told me yes, I get there the next day right when they opened and was told he got adopted out already. 100% would not recommend!

I visited today with a cat that I had been laying food and water out for. The lady said well it’s your cat since you’ve been feeding it. No, not my cat but basically she guilted me into keeping it. So I’ll just make sure not to feed it so it will get ran over how sad is that! The lady was horrible and made me feel like it was my responsibility to figure out the owners. Thanks for nothing!

I came and got two kittens, a male and female. They were 3 weeks old. The male was the runt so he was small ended up dying within a week. I took them to the bet a few days after I got them and they both had fleas and ringworm none of that was said to me at the adoption center. That means all the animals in that room had to had the same.

The animal control officer Sheffield and Carter have been most helpful with our feral cat issues. They are professional and understanding our TNR efforts to help the community reduce the number of ferals. Good job guys it's a hard job. Leave a message and they will call you back.

Don't waste your time trying to talk to these people.Being public servants you are in a position to serve the public, not to cop a attitude and get hateful because you are asked to do your job. I honestly didn't want to leave the abandoned puppy with you anyhow, poor thing would be better off where it was.

I am wondering if you guys ever return any phone calls, emails, anything. Are yall on strike.? I have only been bitching about the same dog for ages. So has my neighbor next to me, Jaquie Watkins. Kudos to whoever runs that nice new facility down on midway, that my tax dollars helped pay for. Next level coming from me (city manager, chief of police or fire, mayor). Pick one for me....

I found a cat in the parking lot down the street from here and the older lady at the counter was rude and tried to accuse me of it being my cat and I was abandoning it. Lived here in Haltom most of my life and see animals in need I try to help but thinking about stopping if I'm going to get accused of them being mine when I bring them in off the street.

The staff at this place is trash the lady at the front counter was extremely rude she didn’t do anything to answer any of my questions she just kept telling me that they were ready to get me out of there because they were trying to go to lunch I will not be coming back to this animal shelter and I hope they can get someone else up there that’s a little bit more polite and courteous to people not asking for anything other than some common courtesy and she was rude and highly inappropriate
