Frank was recommended to me by a friend many years ago. I’ve referred many friends to Frank. I can say that from the moment I first met him, I could see that he is passionate about the Reef Keeping hobby, and deeply cares for his customers. I don’t normally do Google reviews but I consider Frank to be a good friend of mine. I want others to be able to experience the same trust in a local fish store as I do. If Frank’s Tanks doesn’t have something in their store front, and its saltwater aquarium related, they can get it for you!Come for the fish, leave with a lifelong friend.

It’s a rare person that has the heart of a teacher, that is also willing to teach. We are getting back into the hobby and we stopped in to get some questions answered. We picked up a new friend in the hobby and a ton of education. We had planned on visiting a few shops to get what we needed, didn’t see any point after stopping in to see Frank. Frank is very likeable but there was no freshwater supplies so not very useful to me at this time.. this store is smaller but I did see some cool things there but went to a store not too far away and found almost everything I needed.. and a few things i did not need. lol

Frank is very business oriented, but still very down to earth. Having had the pleasure of assisting with some of his photography, he was respectful, courteous and had positive feedback for my work. I initially went in for a look, like a kid at the fair winning a goldfish in a bag. What I found was a well kept store, beautiful rare fish, amazing displays, and someone who takes pride in his work and will not tolerate lackadaisical employees. Thank you Frank.

I feel so blessed to have found Frank’s Tanks. I am a beginner to reef tanks and this wonderful store is a treasure trove of fish, corals, and accessories. Everything is sold at a fair price and the tanks are super clean. The biggest asset is Frank himself! He is an expert with more than 30 years of experience and is super friendly. There is a lot to learn in this hobby and whatever Frank says I take as gospel. My highest recommendation!

The staff is also very nice and always looking to help! The store itself is impeccably clean and well kept. Before I purchased my tank and started the hobby I went to literally EVERY fish store in DFW. I asked A LOT of questions almost everywhere I went. The guys at Frank's earned my business hands down. Frank promptly responded to several emails prior to me spending any money in the store, and Art spent a lot of time answering all sorts of questions. Since then I have bought everything from there and trusted their advice. Frank's is definitely not the closest fish store to me, but I choose to make the drive because I feel confident with my purchase when I leave. I recommend Frank's to everyone.

I have been taking my son to Frank's Tanks for over a year. He has special needs and Frank and all of his employees have bent over backwards to make my son feel comfortable. They call him by his name when he comes in the store, and allow us to just stand and look at fish (which he loves and can do for hours). They have never been rude and have always been kind to us, especially the guy with the tattoos and piercings. He answers any and all questions that my son and I have. I read the review from the one lady that said some employee was rude to her and I am very surprised; they are some of the kindest people I have met.

I met Frank today while I was killing time. I had some beginner questions and let him know that I wasn't ready to start a tank yet but wanted to get an idea of what I need to be looking at. He was very friendly and professional. Frank is passionate about the hobby and helping people get started. One of the cleanest fish stores I've been to! We received excellent service from the gentleman working as soon as we arrived. He was very knowledgeable about the various fish and plants in the store. Very beautiful tanks set up! We will be back and encourage any fish enthusiasts to make a stop here!

Good customer service! They will frag just about anything out of they're display tanks. Or order you any product you like quickly. Never had any pest issues with any coral from there. Frank and Art will take care of you. They run lots of sales and special deals, and frequent detailed emails on their specials that day or week.

Bought my 1st live rock from Frank almost 18 months ago. I have bought all my R/O and Salt water from Frank. Frank, along with his staff, are very knowledgeable and friendly. He will not tell you to buy something that you do not need or that will not survive in your tank. He is honest and straight up. He does not set you up for failure. He gives it to you straight and any issues I've had in the past as long as I listen to what he says my tank is right back to normal. He keeps a database of all his customers, if you chose too, and I strongly recommend being on his email. He always sends out emails, minimum once per week, and there's always sells and just positive vibes. Look this is not a hobby you just jump into and start killing it. If you are patient and willing to listen, Frank will help you be successful. I'm not saying he gives up free knowledge but if you chit chat with Frank and he starts to recognize you and you come in and be polite, he will help you.W/O dogging on any other fish store in DFW - Frank's Tanks is my absolute #1. I've heard people say he's a little expensive but you have to consider, maybe you pay $5 more for a fish from Frank, but you know that fish is healthy and Frank will make sure you have the proper set up before selling you a $100 + purple tang. Most other stores just want money. Frank obviously needs money to make his store survive but he's been in business for 9 years + - that says something!! That means people trust him and he has a good business.If you think I'm exaggerating, go look how nice his tanks are in the store. It's flawless.@Andrew, you are a racist A hole. Frank is not racist in any way. I'm white. He's very nice to me. Frank is genuine. Frank is kind. Frank is a great human being. Frank is what every small business owner should aspire to be. I love the late night emails every few months about the promotions and current events of Frank’s Tanks! Although I don’t get to visit often, every time I do, I leave with a smile. Probably the cleanest fish store I’ve been in. If you’re even remotely close, make the drive, you won’t regret it. Talk to Frank. He will take care of all of your aquarium needs, and maybe he might make your day a little brighter too.

By far one of the best experiences I've had going to fish stores. Frank was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I also couldn't find any signs of pests, parasites or disease in any of his fish. Would definitely recommend

Frank is the real deal. Down to earth, passionate, and knowledgeable. I’ve been to all the key players in the DFW area, and I choose frank as my LFS. When a tank broke (that I bought from one of his competitors before I found him) in the middle of the night, I called him and he walked me through what I needed to do to save my critters and coral.At the heart of his business is providing the best customer service around. Hands down, no exception. I’ve read other reviews on here, and some of them are a clearly referring to a different store by accident. Go in and meet him, and you’ll see why. If it’s slow, you might spend more time talking with him than you had planned. If it’s busy, he’s sweating but he’s still very approachable.I recognize I have options, but time and time again I choose franks tanks for a reason. Your just gonna have to experience those reasons for yourself.

His responses were short and ready to get me off the phone. Sadly, I was hoping to start a great relationship with the store just due to the reviews on here. Will be going else where.Edit :Frank actually just gave me a call. (i had been to his store before and my name was in my system). Not only did Frank resolve the issue, but he stressed how this isn't the norm (i had been to his store before and i know this). I am happy Frank gave me a call and will be going to his store this weekend.Thanks Frank!

I went in on a Monday right after day light savings time looking to buy a 150 gallon tank. My mother went in one afternoon just to look around and looking for a nite-lite for her tank. as she did not find one, and was done looking around, she left. Frank followed her out side, thinking she was upset about not getting service, invited her back in to assist with what ever her needs were. On that is why I went in. My experience was as i arrived, Frank wasn't there yet so I spoke to the nice gentleman behind the counter. Told him what I was after and he explained that Frank was the only one that can quote prices on tanks. He took my contact information and to this day (6 days later) I still have not heard from Frank. First, not allowing employees to quote prices as they should be in a book made available for them is a bad business practice. Second, not returning to the potential customer is reason enough for me to never return. To much competition out there to be running people off.

I don't write reviews often but for a place like Franks Tanks i think it deserves a bit of my time. Frank's place is one that i go to often. He nice every time i walk in and if he not helping some one he will stop to chat for a bit. Every time i have a question whether equipment or fish he will always give me all the info i need. He is also very honest. He will tell you if a product works or if its junk. Not many places will do that for you most usually wants a sale. every time i take my son with me frank is always nice to him because my son is behaved and knows not to touch anything.So if you looking for a store that honest and wont BS you into buying something you really don't need Franks Tanks is the best place for youAlso i drive nearly 30-45 minutes just to get here when there are other fish stores closer and a computer ever closer then that

I got back into the reefing hobby last year after a good 10 years away. No sooner did I get my new tank stable and the parameters looking good, I found out I was needing to transfer from TX to IN. With 30+ coral frags, both SPS and LPS, I wasn't sure what I was going to do.. I went in to talk to Frank to get his advice, and he agreed to hold my livestock for me while I got my tank set back up in IN.Frank's store is one of the cleanest and nicest you will see, and Frank is always available to give advice and answer questions on anything you might need to know in this hobby. He is truly dedicated to the marine hobby community.Thanks again, Frank!

Love the quick and courteous service. While prices are not as good as another nearby shop, you don't have to wait an hour for intelligent service and a wonderful variety of coral frags and tank supplies. Frank came to my car when he saw I didn't have an outer bag.
