I try to stop at new restaurants in new cities in all my travels, so I’m glad I stopped here! Cute restaurant in Flatonia (a city I’ve never even been to) with a gift shop attached. I ordered at the counter in the center of the shop for brunch/lunch. She told me they weren’t serving breakfast anymore and I was quite sad about that. Hesitantly, I had to order a sandwich but there was a good selection of burgers and sandwiches. As I’m eating my sandwich, a lady that came in after me apparently ordered pancakes because I saw the same girl delivering her pancakes that told me breakfast was over, so that was a bit irritating. I guess certain people can still have breakfast whenever. At every table there is a flip book with lots of great info on the store and the owners and a super cool discount list! I’m sad to say I didn’t go into the gift shop because honestly, I forgot about it since the entry is closer to the back. I’ll try to remember for next time! Stop in here for a quick bite cause it’s super cute and yummy!

It was awesome with many items and the lunch options were amazing. I got the breakfast tacos and they were good would recommend the migas and waffles. Literally ate everything. Fun little game selection and cool vibe.

We happened to stop here for bfast today on our way back from San Antonio. The waffles and hash browns were 2 good . The veggie omelette was just made to perfection. The staff were very friendly and caring . Would recommend to stop by and enjoy .Vegetarian options: Had omelette with all veggies

We came at quite a crazy time for them, but the owner was amazing and very accommodating! Our food was delicious and our coffee was perfect! We had a great time and great experience. Really appreciate Taylor’s friendliness and helpfulness with everything. The shop attached is also a must go! Update 7/31: Prices have changed for the avocado toast which is not updated on the website. We sat at a table that was very sticky and dirty, the waitress just watched me wipe it down with my hands, no offer to clean it. We ordered a cup of soup, which was brought up at the end of our meal because they made a fresh batch. We'll, the cheese on top was firm, clearly had been sitting out. The hot sauce was empty. No spoon or silverware or napkins provided until I asked. I'd still really love for their to be more vegetarian options. $12 for one slice of bread with avocado and an egg is wayy overpriced. Kids meals were served in these awkward bowls where their burgers just kept sliding apart. They were tasty though, just not a great design. I want so bad to love this place as it's convenient for us, I just can't justify the price after today's experience. Kids burgers are $9 and does NOT include a drink. *First time visit during the week, we went for breakfast and got there just after they stopped serving in order to switch to lunch menu. Thankfully, the lady sitting next to the women taking my order was able to let the cooks know and made some delicious chocolate chip pancakes. The soup was just ok, and the avocado toast was nothing special but tasted fine. Fries were yummy but not a very large portion for the price. Overall, we had a good experience. A little pricey, but that's everywhere now. They don't have a huge menu, especially for vegetarians.Atmosphere is super cute though! We will probably goVegetarian options: Not a lot.Kid-friendliness: Kids loved it.

IT’S NOT WORTH IT! Whatever you do, don't order a white chocolate mocha here. They'll tell you they can make it great! Then they don't know what goes in it. Even if you say you don't like it they'll still charge you. Missed breakfast by 10 minutes in an empty restaurant on a Friday. 2 eggs and a piece of bacon is all I wanted. Then one waitress said the chicken strips were frozen. Other one said they were hand breaded. Didn't order anything because I'm not buying a burger when Robert’s is right across town. Wasted 6 bucks on a coffee. Left the whole coffee because it was literally undrinkable. Maybe training your waitstaff would be beneficial. Because simply being a cute place doesn't equate to substance.

We were coming home from San Antonio and needed a place to stop for lunch. We googled nearby restaurants and Darlin’s Diner came up. I’m so glad we decided to stop. Flatonia is an adorable little town and Darlin’s Diner sits right in the middle of the town strip.The restaurant is absolutely precious. Very vintage and trendy all at the same time. There are a few instagramable spots inside. The whole restaurant has a cozy and welcoming vibe. The service was great and the food even better. Please, ignore the finger indentations on my burger — I picked it up before I remembered to take a photo. The food prices are very reasonable. Always love coming to Darlin's. Their food is really good and prices are very reasonable. There's also this really cool thing they do to be able to earn discounts on your meal. The owner is super friendly and the atmosphere is very nice and casual!

My and my husband stopped by here on our way to Bandera. Very clean and tentative local diner. Food was top notch old school staples with a modern twist. Oatmeal was the best I ever had. Pancakes were very good and the omelette was wonderful. You really can’t go wrong with anything you get.

Beautiful restaurant physically. I really wanted to love this place. However it took 30 to 40 mins to get our food. Also the people that came after us got their food before us. I think they were catering to people that they know. It is also very expensive for the wait. I really wish someone would have let us know we would have to wait that long. I would not come back.

Flatonia NEEDED a diner! The food is always consistent! The owner, Taylor, is so friendly! She always comes by and visits. My step-daughter LOVES the smiley face pancake. So far we have tried the chicken fried steak, french toast, eggs benedict (the ham steak underneath it has me drooling as I write this!!), burgers, farm fresh eggs and 3 egg omelette! Always so yummy! After looking at other reviews, we are definitely getting waffles next time! Every single thing on the menu is homemade!!!!! The portion sizes are HUGE. The best part of all, is every single thing is affordable and I leave STUFFED. This isn't your average diner, everything that is put on your table has had thought and love put into it. I've been there every morning that I can since she has opened.

I came to this restaurant with my sister on a road trip, and we loved it! The vibes were amazing — they had really cute cards on the table about the restaurant and the history of the town. The Mac n Cheese and spicy grilled cheese were delicious. We are so excited to have stumbled upon this gem!

I was only in town for one night but I just had to hit this place twice. Excellent service, atmosphere, and food to match. When you walk in they make sure you feel welcomed from the bright lighting to the bright smiles. Even when short staffed they remained attentive. In terms of food I highly recommend the breakfast tacos and French toast. Those are the things I tried but honestly everything that came out of the kitchen looked good. Do yourself a favor and hit this spot; you won’t regret!

My husband and I were on a little road trip and decided to stop in Flatonia for lunch. Darlin’s had great reviews and a nice variety of lunch options. We found it to be delicious and charming. They have a really nice gift shop attached and worth the look around. The owner was there and it’s certainly a great story, worth the stop and to support an up and coming small business.

Delicious food and great service. The coffee is fresh and the Latte's are creamy and tasty. They have a selection of pastries and made to order breakfast. I have the Avacado toast and it's delicious. Egg prepared your way over fresh sliced Avacado and toast. Come for the food, stay for the conversation which is often very entertaining.
