I moved to this area almost a year ago and have used the services of this establishment frequently in that time. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to be positive and helpful.For those of you who use booking apps, be aware. They charge a booking fee of their own that they don't tell you about, which accounts for the difference between what you read online and the actual price (which will end up being more than if you'd paid front desk price quite often).I recommend you use those apps to find likely places, then book with the hotel of your choice directly.Carefree Inn rooms are clean and everything works, and it's conveniently located.Walkability: Much is local and close enough to walk to comfortably.

I stayed here this week and was pleasantly surprised since the outside does look a bit rough. The woman at the desk was pleasant, it was quiet overnight, the room was clean (no bugs seen anywhere), the A/C was ice cold, free wi-fi, and the room even had a microwave and mini fridge. The hotel is right across from the street from McDonald's and there is a Dollar General right down the road where you can pick up food and other items.

Not a bad place to catch a rest located right off the main highway McDonald's across the street with a store easy to walk to and the AC is Awsome . Rooms are very sound .I booked this place for 89 bucks for double beds on bookings .

Location is good, close to the highway and next to a gas station.We had king size bed, it was clean and comfortable. Slept well.Parking is right next to the room, very convenient.Towels were clean. Shower was good with good water pressure.Mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, tv, tissue box, was all good.They have an ice machine in the lobby.The night was quiet.Breakfast had OJ, coffee, toast, muffins, cereal, milk.We paid $67 (including the tax).Safe with kids.

Care Free Inn provides an affordable, reliably cool place (as in good air conditioning) to crash hard after a long, hot day in South Texas. The tiny cockroaches on the bathroom floor dissuaded me from taking a shower, and the sink is old and gross and needs to be replaced. The entrance and exit aren't marked so be prepared to do a bit of 4-wheelin', lol.Otherwise, everything was great!! 😉

Conveniently located near the highway, across the street from a gas station/truck stop with some fast food options also nearby. Very clean and spacious rooms. Included a small microwave and fridge, with decent sized flat screen tv. Was a comfortable stay and would definitely stay again, a great value!

The rooms here are decent and reletively clean save some carpet stains. Their contenantal breakfast is a joke. Cereal, coffee and juice hardly qualify as a meal. Other than that, our stay was decent.

I did not get to stay there but this review will speak the fairness and heart of the owners. I got a call to come home and say my good byes to my GM. Was having to drive 10 hours to get there after working half a day. Then i get the call she had passed. The funeral wont be for a few days. No need now to rush. I called and exained this to the hotel owner and offered to pay for tonight if he'd left me skide for tomorrow night. Instead, he cancled my reservation and charged me NOTHING. To me, thats a stand up human and a stand up buisiness. I will solely stay there in the future because of that generous act of kindness. Thank you!

We are on the motorcycle headed to new braunsful and need a snooze. This hotel was price right with a comfy bed. The only thing I recommend is they leave the a/c on atleast 75 it took forever to cool down.

It was only 69 bucks plus tax for the night. It was clean, great water pressure in the shower. Theres a gas station, McDonald's, and a BBQ restaurant within walking distance.

Carefree Inn was in a convenient location right off the highway. Was able to check in easily and hassle free, as well as check out in the morning. Room was clean and neat, and the shower worked well.

Been here cause of the storm, they have been nice and took taxes off and gave a small discount on the room here for the third night now. It's clean and everything works as it should. Better than most I've been in

They were very accommodating and clean. They were not fancy but had all the essentials. My only complaint is I wish the pool had been open.

Found using Bring Fido app, pets welcome. nice room with king bed and sofa, plenty of room for doggie. free wifi, refrig, microwave. convenient location across from truck stop.

Nice but not all that the reviews make it out to be. Seems like a handed down Palace Inn as far as amenities. Staff super friendly and keep to themselves

Strong smoking smell from the 'non-smoking' room. Insects and big stains on the carpet. Overpriced at $70. Comfortable and clean beds.

If this is the hotel in flatonia I went in and asked him regarding that dog by his hotel he let me get him a bowl of water said he saw the dog in the morning but that's the only time he ever seen the dog which is hard to believe. These people are very removed from that situation!!!
