Stopped in for gas and ran inside to grab a couple of drinks for the kids and use the restroom. Charged me a $0.50 service fee, for what? Yes, I realize it’s $0.50 but at the same time why is that necessary when we spent close to $100?

The lady that owns this shop has to be one of THE rudest people on this planet. States she is a nurse but she has no regard for other peoples safety, the safety of her daughter or anybody else that may be on the road when she is. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Read the other reviews about this place.

We walked in so tired. Walked out refreshed. The amazing woman at the register was so sweet and friendly! An experience we didn’t expect but we’re so grateful for! Also, her Spanish is on point!

Wonderful locally owned convenience store/diner. Super friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend this gas station over the many poorly maintained chain gas stations.

Friendly place and space for a good sit down any time of day w good made to order breakfast menu at a nice price. Food is hot and sodas on fountain w ice cream freezer perfect for custom floats w a pint(gotta make your own) even still the menu is very tasty.I like the wings so does my son. So we get them often.So if u like supporting local business?, you're gonna support this place for just being great. Fyi prices on gas are usually low also.

This place is off of the hook. What a neat little store. One of the gals offered to make me a sandwich even after the grill was shutdown, who does that anymore?.i love the old memerobilia. Next time i come through,i will be sure to stop.

Called 15 mins before they closed. I had to pee sooooooo bad. No other rest stops for another 15 miles. They know that. GPS said I could get there at 9:02. I asked if they would still be there to where I could use the bathroom. They said not unless I could get there before 9. Even though she mentioned they would still be there.. Rude. Will recommend all friends from chalk mountain trucking and Pam transport not to stop there anymore. Hospitality goes a long way.

Y'all. So stinking good. I had a cheeseburger and swapped my bun for a Jalapeno bun. It was so soft. The fries are amazing and soft. My daughter had the chicken strips and they were delicious as well. Great little find. Prices are good too. We will be back next time we drive this way.

Most of the time, gas is cheaper here than in the surrounding small cities. They have a small "cafe" for quick made to order food and a good variety of pre-packaged stuff.

My daughter called this the Texas road trip equivalent to the Room of Requirement - just pops up and has everything you need. Superior road food, a surprising range of items (grocery, candy, practical), and charm out the wazoo. Definitely stopping next time we’re on this road.

I stop at the Elk Stop pretty much every time I pass through the area (4-6 times per year) and fill up my vehicle and get a bite to eat. Nice people who work here. They cook a lot of their menu items from scratch, and they are popular around lunchtime, so if you are in a hurry, I recommend you call your order in ahead of time!

I rode my bike all the way there and They was super nice,id go there again! Lol o called to ask what the cheapest 12 pack of beer was and there like idk u have to come here and see for urself...isnt that kinda there job to look ook and see and tell the customer!? Anyways i meeded to know b4 heading that way due to gas its not tht hard to just walk over and look at price. Imagine every store doing this.

The Elk Stop👍 Every time I come thru on US 281, I always stop and get a Western Burger. In all my travels, most of the best food around is always off the beaten path and out in the middle of nowhere. The Elk Stop has it going on👍

Alright so it smelled straight up like cat pee inside, heroin needles in the bathroom, plural needles, the lady in front of me who they treated as a regular was speeding balls on meth or cocaine not sure her drug of choice, they thought my ID was fake because it was from a different state, and to top it all off, they didn't have cheddar jalapeno cheetos.
