I would never give this business chain a cent. Went in there today just to look around only to look around when I was greeted at the door by what I thought was a laboratory cage. I work at a more “family owned” feed store, and to see these chicks crowded in this prison was infuriating. Not only were they not on heat, and way over crowded, there were several dead ones in there (pictured). Unbelievable and cruel. The paper underneath the cages were extremely disgusting which can spread sicknesses and diseases, which also explains why there’s so many dead.This was so disgusting of the business and I hope they do better.

Check your feed before you leave. My mom bought a bag of Purina gamefish chow loaded with flour beetles. She had no idea and hauled it and groceries in the trunk of her car. Called and was advised to bring the bag back for a refund and that it's the manufacturer's fault. I also called Purina. They advised that the beetles were likely due to improper storage or contamination from other feeds. We made the trip back and completed the return. Went to tractor supply to buy fish food and parked next to a truck that I noticed had bags of feed in the bed of the truck including some frontier branded feed. All the bags were crawling with the same beetles.

While I do appreciate I can get my specific Triple Crown feed here.. 1/3 times they load the wrong one up in my bed. My receipt is always right. Very frustrating having to drive back and forth to exchange. I guess I'm going to have to start getting out of my truck every single time to check.

Staff was very friendly.I have been employed before at such a business as this one. Not only are the employees helpful and friendly but I was encouraged to apply for a position. I really love helping customers find what they are looking for and these associates work as a team to accomplish just that.

Good feed and general store. We get most of our poultry fed and supplies here and they usually have the incidental "while I'm in town" type of goods; fence supplies, guns & ammo, tools, veterinary supplies. The also carry some nice yard art, porch swings, and a lot of things you might have been wanting. What you would expect from a general store in a clean, modern store. Convenient loading dock, ample parking without having to walk a long way. If you haven't been, you should stop by and see. Friendly local folks, helpful employees that you don't have to go looking for.

I purchased a bridle bit in there and never removed the tags and never used it. I used my tax exemption but lost my receipt. I decided on a different bit and went back to exchange it but it was over 10 days. First she didn't want to do it without the receipt but i asked her to look it up with my tax exemption. Then she said how long had it been and i was honest because i am an honest person plus i couldn't imagine they wouldn't exchange something regardless of howlong it had been. I think it was 30 days. She said sorry can't do it. The tags were still on this item. The exchange was twice the price and she sent me packing. I hope it was worth it to them because i will never go back there. All done with them.I'll be going to Taylor feed store, tri county feed and tractor supply.

During the great freeze of 'ought 12, we were able to buy propane here when everyone else was out. They always have your farm to house needs, and even in the ammo shortage times had single box sales. always come here to trade huntin' stories with the owner and get the latest intel on hog movements.

Just plz go to tractor supply, I bought a little giant encubator , after 20 days was not working. I took it back they wouldn’t exchange it no warranty or nothing!! Sad!!

If I can purchase what I need from this Elgin store, I do. I am continually impressed by the polite, knowledgeable owner and staff, and have never been rushed, even if I have multiple questions. The only time I will go elsewhere is when I need round bales delivered for my horses, and as this store does not deliver, I purchase those from my neighbor. Bravo to an Elgin gem.
