The corn and flower tortillas rock! Chances are you won't find everything you need. But if you are on a budget, you can definitely walk out with everything you need and of good quality.

This place is always jam packed. If you are in a hurry, try up the street. By the way, all the people go because they want the best food at the best prices, and this is it for downtown. For instance, Tyson chicken is usually cheaper than Walmart. Best tip: there is a small express checkout in the middle of the store by the side door. Thankfully, they enforce 10 items or less

Like the mom and pop feel of the store, reasonable prices has a little bit of everything you need. Has its own butchery and bakery, Tortillas made on site. You have to experience segundo with a trip in here for a snack. Literally just a block from Mexico.

Good fresh and cheap produce. Tortillas made fresh so the place smells like it. The bakery has quality bread and cakes. Can get a bit crowded in there and service depends on when you go and who you encounter.

I only go to Matas for my pinto beans in this occasion I wasn't feeling well at all and the cashier was very observant and asked me if I was feeling bad and I replied you noticed the other employee carried my heavy bag for me and walked me to my car which was close to the door I was very thankful, grateful for their attention and concern. My sugar was very low they even asked if I needed a coke THANK YOU FOR CARING EMPLOYEES GOD BLESS THEM

Great prices on alot of items. They carry basic grocery items, also meat, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, freshly made tortillas and a nice selection of bakery items. Checkout was pretty quick. Only parking and grocery carts were hard to get. The staff was helpful and somewhat friendly.

I love coming here even if It’s crowded which to me means good business !! Lol very good prices ! One thing I want to let y’all know is that a man named Pablo helped me with my groceries to my truck. Very wide variety of necessities. Very cheap prices on meat even the finely chopped variety. Flour tortillas are very soft and delicious, and stay soft even when refrigerated. I highly recommend it if you're around downtown.

I was as wow'd by the kitchen cooking aroma! And all the produce is so fresh...and I only went for tamales and came out with fresh made beans, flour tortillas, tomatoes, jalapenos and little french rolls! Ya'll gotta go there...I'm going back again! There's so much homemade stuff you can't get anywhere else! <3 <3

Called in to see if they carry a certain item. Was told to hold on, then they hung up. Called back and they picked up the phone and hung up. Your sister store Amigo has way better service. Send your Mata store employees to train at Amigo.

This is a place where you can barely move around not enough space always very crouded. Some of the fruit and produce are going bad get they this have them as eatable. No emergency exits incase of an emergency . I don't know what the max capacity is but to my I concern for a place like that I think it goes way over. I wonder what the inspectors or the fire department are doing cause there are quite a few iregularates in this place. A very concern shopper.

Truckers.... This is a small market in the middle of a neighborhood. No truck stop for miles. Park near other Mata produce building 3 blocks away. Overall friendly people.

The prices are great! Only place where I buy my meat. But people are so rude, and disrespectful!! Thats why I hate going here! Ohh and the lines are ridiculous, and you have to follow somebody to their car and help them take down there groceries just so you have a cart to shop with.

The best produce in town. The only downside is that the store is too small and is always packed and a but disorganized. I give it 4 stars because of that. They need to improve the layout.
