This treatment facility is phenomenal. If you were blindfolded and unknowingly brought to Great Oaks, you would 100% believe you were on vacation at some retreat. And you wouldn’t be all the way wrong. While the vibes are vacation-like, everyone will always experience uncomfortable situations. Great Oaks in general, but specifically the staff (who make every effort to be so much more than employees clocking in/out) really are unmatched and if my daughters would let me, I would return annually for the vibes and the staff alone. If you are currently in active addiction and reading this, perhaps this is your cue to pursue a better life, and for so many of us, that start at Great Oaks Recovery Center. Thanks again, GORC. I’m forever thankful and grateful.

I have been out of Great Oaks for nearly 2 months now. The recovery center has propelled me to a place in life I thought I would never see again. The curriculum is outstanding. The facilitators are very special people and go way beyond what would be considered job requirements. They care about you and will lead you on a path to recovery if you are willing to listen and do the work. You will experience a few tears and a lot of laughter as you grow in the community. The staff is wonderful from top to bottom. The food is exceptional and the setting is great. Five ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.

My time at Great Oaks was a great experience. It was my first time in rehab and it all made sense!! The counselors are doing an amazing job. And my peers were very helpful in my recovery. A great support system for each other. I'd like to thank Amy, Jody and Caty for their great knowledge of how to get people sober and stay sober. A great place to recover. Special thx to Patrick who got me to open up about a lot of things that were inside of me for a long time!

Great Oaks was amazing!!! As a veteran suffering from a 23 year opiate addiction as well as newer condition developed within the past 5 years developed due to extended incarceration. Prior to learning of Great Oaks I had been through 4 treatment programs over a 2 year period with none being successful. I had given up on hope of recovery and was very suicidal. After going through Great Oaks I was relieved! I was able to open up and able to love myself again. I was so satisfied with their attention to my condition individually that I decided to extend my stay at Great Oaks for an additional 45 days (90 days total). Great Oaks worked with me as if I was a person and got to know me. Never was I treated as a number or just another client moving through their system. They were able to help me comfortably address and open up to issues steming from time in service as well as barriers developed due to years of a horrible and very much deadly addiction and the life it had absorbed me into and teach me how to love myself again. I realized there was so much more to life and people that cared about me than I was previously allowing myself to see. This was a completely different rehabilitation approach that I had ever experienced before notnonly was it different, it was fun as well. Before giving up on yourself or your friend or loved one and think there is no hope for overcoming this disease, please take the time to explore what Great Oaks has to offer first. They truly care and are devoted to saving lives.

A big part of my story is that I’ve been to a number of rehabilitation facilities, that doesn’t have to be apart of everyone’s story, but it is apart of mine. I say this because I have places to compare Great Oaks to, and Great Oaks is a wonderful, accommodating, safe space to start your journey. The staff is amazing, they go above and beyond and by far out of all the places I’ve been to, Great Oaks has something special, it doesn’t feel like a business that wants your money, I’ve been to places where it was very clear that money was what they were more concerned about. All doctors and staff make you the priority. They care about your comfort, listen to your needs, and offer many modalities of recovery. It truly is the only facility that means what they say when it acknowledges that each person is different Abe they make certain to create an individualized treatment plan for each client. They go above and beyond, from intake, detox, residential, to your aftercare plan. Jody reaches out to me on a weekly basis, she responds to all calls, emails, texts on the same day as you reach out. The doctor is amazing as well as all the nurses. I highly recommend Great Oaks as a place to begin or continue your rehabilitation journey

I must say when I 1st arrived at Great Oaks there was a special kind of peace around me. Nothing like what I would have imagined rehab to be. We even had a resident fur baby. They allow people to have their Emotional Support Animals, keep us busy with classes filled with valuable information. Everyone from the case managers, Counselors, techs and kitchen staff treat you with care. You often will hear staffs roaring laughter, as they demonstrate what being clean and sober can be like. As time wore on there, I could see why many who had not had success before, finally found it here! There's a great Alumni app, meetings, and events, backed with people who have been where you, your friend or loved one are now. That will be there as long as you reach out and participate.I would recommend Great Oaks to anyone who'll listen... and I miss the Campfire, beautiful trees, porch swings... and a nice pool I didnt get to go in bc it was winter. LOL

It was my first time at a recovery center. I didn’t know what to expect and was scared. I was greeted well and everyone of the clients was friendly and that meant a lot. All of the staff is awesome and cares about you recovering. Listening to everyone was so helpful to my addiction it made me reflect back on myself. All of the process groups and structured acts helped me learn a lot about my addiction. It prepared so when I left there that I had an understanding of the 12 step process, knowledge of AA meetings and also have people to reach out to if I needed to talk. With that being said about what you can learn there you have to do a lot of work when you leave to keep your sobriety, and one step at a time and one day at a time. I highly recommend Great Oaks Recovery Center to anyone needing help with their addiction.

This is Nick Combre speaking. This was some of the best times of my life. It literally feels like you’ve gone camping out in the woods so to speak. Great counselors and great people in general. Can’t go wrong with this place.

Great oaks recovery was an amazing treatment center. The staff were very knowledgeable and care greatly for the clients. I learned so much while I was there as a client. They are military friendly and have a separate counselor just for them. If you are serious about your recovery and sobriety go to great oak. Jody, Catie, and Amy are great. All the counselors are as well. They made me a believer and with their help I am happy to say I am a recovering alcoholic and proud of it.

What a great experience I had at Great Oaks! Came in feeling pretty hopeless and scared like many others, but the setting, staff, and community made me feel so comfortable and ready to work on improving my life, with results that have lasted much longer than my stay.Setting- Far from the city and with a huge multi storied historic main house set on acres the place made me feel like this was the place to do the work I needed to do. Lots of space and tranquility. And a pool and great gym? This was the place to find peace.Staff- Medical professionals and intake staff were so understanding and helped me understand both what would be required from me and how they could assist in my recovery. I knew I could trust them to take care of me in a weakened state. Coucelers were a real driving force of this experience. They work their butts off from sunup to sundown and beyond with group and individual therapy sessions. These people give rythem and purpose to the day and remind and help you with the work you must do. And oh, the kitchen staff! This was one of my favorite eating experiences I've ever had. I'm a southerner, so the food was oh so great! Going from an addiction state of not liking food, then getting THE best food served by this kitchen staff, all home made. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner really made me realize how much fun it was to eat again! Pork chops and gravy= #1Community- with the understanding that the staff is very much a part of the healing space we shared. There were a lot of scared and addicted people who shared a common goal. Getting to know these strangers was a challenge because we had all come from different places and backgrounds to be there. Realizing what you have in common with others is a huge part of this. You sleep, eat, laugh, cry with a group of people you've never met. As scary as that may sound, it's just what I needed. Stay strong to all Alums and to all considering checking in, I hope the experience helps you as much as it did myself!

Great oaks was the best treatment center I've been to. Most of the staff go out there way to help in any they can. Their pet friendly which helped me a lot. They take care of the veterans in a phenomenal way. The food is great. They treat as a person not just some number. The only thing that needs help is the night time medical staff.

This is NOT the place to go for mental health support for addiction recovery and overall trauma based recovery. It's far too lacking in human compassion and professional connection and support. Most of the staff are far from welcoming or friendly. Their approach is misleading and uncomfortable to say the least. When the staff/ counselors converse with the clients and talk about things among other clients that are far from professional is mind-blowing...the lack of compassion and emotional connection is non-existent The only staff member that actually made me feel like a human and cared to converse and show compassion was the sweetest young lady by the name of Morgan,: she spoke to me kindly and actually made me feel like I mattered and that my need to seek help mattered. Not one other staff member smiled nor attempted to introduce themselves or connect with me what so ever...I suffer from severe PTSD childhood/martial trauma and all they wanted to do was drug me up and shuffle me along without any connection...I felt like a paycheck rather than a human who was desperate to seek help. If you want a place to go to feel safe, respected, valued, like you matter, this is just not the place...there is zero lack of professional control and most all staff are emotionless, seem overworked and disconnected from the very people who are there in desperate need of patience, kindness , and understanding.

Hi, I've struggled with my addiction and alcoholism almost all of my life. The longest period of time I've ever had sober was in 2016, through AA i strung together 18 months, then I stopped managing my addiction & alcoholism, stopped working my program, and relapsed. I had been out for 4 years or so and finally had the opportunity to get my life back on track and found myself at Great Oaks Recovery Center. I spent 30 days in residential treatment. The grounds are beautiful, the sunrises and sunsets were breathtaking. The sense of community was welcoming from the get go. The staff was caring and friendly, from the medical team, the techs, the counselors, the cleaning crew, the kitchen staff, the admin ladies, drivers and the groundskeepers, EVERYONE was amazing. The meals that were prepped everyday were amazing country style home cooked meals, and I honestly don't think we ate anything twice for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was a different story but still hot cooked meals every morning. The days were full from 8am to 8pm everyday with groups, counseling, AA meetings, life skills classes, cowboy church once a week, yoga and meditation once a week, music therapy classes once a week, equine therapy once a week, outside meetings once a week (but it looked like they were planning a second outside meeting which started after my time there). The structure was much needed and totally welcomed. They also have a pool and a weight room. Almost everyone seemed serious about their recovery. We also were given free time from 2 to 4pm everyday. I definitely recommend anyone ready to get help to go to great oaks. They also provided a free pack of cigarettes every 2 days or every other day, something like that. I really felt like i was ready for the next chapter of my life even i left. I did move into sober living and am continuing IOP, but Great Oaks is somewhere i will always treasure and cherish. They definitely prepared me for my new life and still check in with me every week. Thank you great oaks!!! (Not that it matters but for those who are curious, my drug of choice was IV meth and heroin use, and if I can get sober, anyone can.) You'll find hope and serenity at great oaks and in AA! I was there for Halloween which we had a party so the pictures I'm sharing are from the Halloween party. I'm going to keep the names of my peers anonymous but just so you can see the joy on our sober faces and see that we can have sober fun....

Great Oaks Recovery Center is a great place! Great food, great staff and they continue to provide great service to me and other alumni even after I got home. My Great Oaks family has alumni events and weekly meetings that I still attend today after being there one year ago. If you’re serious about recovery and want to get help from real people in a nice environment, Great Oaks is the place for you! It works if you work it! Jody, Amy, Mike and everyone, You saved my life! I’m forever grateful!!

Great Oaks changed my life. I went in expecting just another rehab but I have never felt so welcome and loved at others. The staff is amazing, they will stay up with you if you cant sleep, they'll get you a snack if you're hungry, they are more than just staff, they become your friends. Fred was my counselor and he has a real knack for getting to know you. The food is awesome and the kitchen ladies are so sweet. And what happens around the fire pit stays at the fire pit! I recommend Great oaks to anyone who wants to change their life. It was an experience I'll never forget!

There are no words how to explain my experience at Great Oaks. From the beginning I knew this was the place I needed to be. Jody is the GOAT! She has your back 100%. Amy my Amy, what a terrific, wonderful counselor. Fred my guru thank you for everything. Linda your kindness and peacefulness meant the world to me. Chris I loved all of your advise. The staff here are the best. The treatment, advise and unconditional support is none other than family helping.

So, where do I start??When I first got there, I didn't think I was going to stay. I was surprised that I even went there in the first place. But Hope and Corey in admissions kept working on me, and finally I was like screw it, I'm coming.Probably the best decision I've made in the last few years. These people genuinely care about your sobriety. And I respect them even more because the majority of the staff have been through recovery themselves. From my counselor Fred, to Amy Hayes, the Clinical Director, who is fantastic by the way, keeps you laughing but definitely knows her stuff.Jody Eaton, the Alumni Coordinator is amazing.I think she has over 450 former clients on her texts log, and she takes the time to contact us every week. Very amazing job she does. And now Katie has joined the mix as case manager, and her energy and hard work is truly amazing!!The Medical staff, led by Ike is very special!! Wish I could name everyone: Ms Lisa, Emily, Anhalica, Marisol, Adrian....the list goes on.But wonderful program: Mike, New York guy, very passionate about our recovery, strong believer in the big book.To all the Techs:: Jaime, Norman, Cheslea: Zack, Hope, Terry, Stacy, Paulette and Ms. Jackie...Thanks Jarvis for making sure the property stayed fixed and making sure we got transported from VA appointments to me having to go bank!! Much appreciated!!Thanks to the wonderful kitchen staff: Jen, Pam, Kay, you ladies are amazing. Great food, and always kind and respectful. And then Kendall, who is fairly new, but this guy has a wonderful spirit and works hard at keeping Great Oaks GREAT!!

No, no, and no! There are far better treatment centers for the same price or better. Food is far from healthy, but that could've changed?! Clients doing drugs all over the place, clients having sex, people stealing, staff tossing the bedrooms for no reason when stealing wasn't happening. One staff member prided how well she could toss a room and find contraband because of how she was previously a prison guard. Therapy was subpar. Trust me, I know. The therapists were an f-in joke. They aren't medically equipped if something serious were to go down, and you're in the middle of nowhere. All treatment centers are a business first then are there to help people, but place just takes it to a new level. There was waaaay too much down time. There should be more activities and amenities for what you pay. They will shove you in a room with 3-4 other people. That's fine, but if you're not sleeping because 2 people snore like monsters, they will not move you around. How do you expect people to maintain emotional regulation and overall health if they're not sleeping?!? It's common sense that sleep is vital, especially in times like this...being in a treatment center. Come on...do better!!Positives: beautiful property, nice nursing staff, you could have your cell phone (which was problematic for some people)

I attended Great Oaks Recovery Center back in the "snowmageddon" in Jan of 2021. I spent my first 30 days of recovery in this center. The staff, counselors, kitchen staff, nurses, and everyone were very committed to my success. They teach you the tools you need to be equipped with when you have to leave and face the real world as a functioning SOBER human being. I have been sober for over 2.5 years now and am an active member of AA. It started with what they taught me in Great Oaks.

I can honestly say with all of my heart that Great Oaks saved my life. I came in at my lowest of lows. Completely hopeless, no sense of purpose, and on the brink of death. I’m about to board my flight back home and I’m filled with hope, my sense of purpose, and self-love and self-worth. I was surrounded with a welcoming and beautiful environment and staff that truly care. From the clinical director down to the maintenance staff, each and every one of them showed me how to look at life in a different perspective and that sobriety isn’t scary, but the way to truly love life. This is my third time in residential treatment and for the first time in my life, I’m actually excited for my future in sobriety and to become an ever-growing and learning human being that wants to be of service to others, too. I am truly going to miss Great Oaks and all of the staff that pour their time and hearts into that place, but I am so ready to make them all proud of who I will become! I can’t imagine ever having this feeling of hope and inspiration if I didn’t have Great Oaks’ help. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Great Oaks Recovery! I will love you all forever!

Great oaks is a really good place. The staff is very kind and supportive really good people. If you want to stay sober all you have to do is use the tools they will teach you and take it one day at time. I myself had a wonderful experience with the whole process. And I can’t leave the kitchen staff out they were awesome as well. I recommend it for anyone that wants help. And ms Jody will keep in touch with you and help you if you need it.

Great Oaks Recovery is where I went to treatment back on February 6, 2021. It really helped me realize I had a problem with drugs and alcohol. I absolutely love the staff there everyone was easy to get along with! They also have weekly meeting on Zoom that you can stay connected with everyone after you leave treatment! Thank you God and Great Oaks! ❤️❤️❤️

This recovery center is absolutely a life saver, the staff, the nursing and the admin teams are top notch. AA meetings galore, process group is 100% a safe place to express where your at. You really learn coping skills to take you to your next steps if you are willing to surrender. They will help you with your next steps, (Thanks to Jody, Catie and Amy) so that burden will be relieved for you. The counselors (Fred, Matthew and Patrick) are hands down the best! They really really do care and you can feel that energy! The FOOD, OMG, fantastic, thanks Pam, Irene and Jen!!!!!!! You WILL gain weight, lol. The techs are are a 1000% awesome. I cannot recommend this facility enough, if you or a loved one needs to take first steps to conquer your addiction, this is the place.

After several failed attempts to find sobriety, at other facilities, Great Oaks (GO), was recommended. At GO, the clients are not just a "head in a bed," the staff truly cares, and through the post release follow-ups and optional activities and gatherings, today I am celebrating 570 days sober. Thank you Great Oaks for showing me a better way !

The entire atmosphere of Great Oaks is completely serene. It is a very welcoming place with staff of all positions who care deeply for their clients. Plus the educational value on their approach to recovery I believe to be the best in the business.

Being at Great oaks has completely changed my life. When I first got there I had no possessions no perceived reasons to live and I had not dealt with my PTSD. The staff taught me through their experiences and could relate to me unlike any other treatment center has. I can proudly say that thanks to them I am over 5 months clean and have amazing support from them and apply all I have learned. Today I have a job my own apartment and vehicle and a will to live. Thank you great oaks for helping me find My purpose.i

I'm almost 4 months sober because of the staff here and this facility! It feels great! Every day here was a adventure and very interesting. I learned soo many tools in order to continue to stay sober out here in the real world. I meet soo many new people both other clients and staff! The grounds are gorgeous and the food is amazing! I will always be eternally grateful for the opportunity this place gave me. I have my life back and things continue to look up for me.

Great oaks is the perfect name because this is a great place, and the property of oaks are beautiful. The people who work there really care. I’ve been to a state funded rehab and I would not wish that on anyone. If you can, go here. They believe in you. Mike, Jody, & Stacy, and the nurses are all amazing. If you want help, go here. I do recommend bringing a non video/audio/internet accessible radio if you like to listen to music. They go on store runs for their clients, they go out of their way to make sure You’re okay. I highly recommend attending great oaks. If you don’t wanna feel like you’re in a state prison, go here. They care, and they will make you feel safe.
