Very nice staff, people were helpful in setting my son up with some baseball gear, he didn't just try to sell us the most expensive equipment and that was appreciated.

The workers always seem confused when asked things and will let you buy something that's not in stock and get confused about what to do after. Lol

My daughter signed up for archery in our local 4H we needed some supplies. Went to this location found everything we needed. The employees were very, very helpful very very understanding and you exactly what we needed.

Looking for golf grips, when I asked an associate in the golf section if they had grips he said no. Didn’t offer to help, didn’t even say he would be with us shortly. I found one box of grips but it was open and incomplete. Since I really needed them I took them to the cashier with a number of other items and proceeded to ask the cashier if they could discount on what was missing. Cashier was very nice and helpful but she called the team leader and she just looked at us, annoyed and said just give them 5% discount on it. This didn’t even cover the missing item. She really needs to work on her people skills if she is going to be the leader.

Very poor communications with customer on order status. The experience has been very mediocre. I placed an order for a shotgun on feb 10 with a store delivery date of feb 16. The shotgun showed to be in inventory. The days went by and no changes to the order status. It said “preparing”, 10 days later and past the delivery date it still says “preparing”. I’m set up with academy for text and email updates, and did not receive any communications whatsoever explaining what is going on with the order. I called customer support twice and they were nice and tried to be helpful but even them could not understand what had happened to the order. Just very disappointing, which makes it very difficult for me to want to do online purchases in the future at Academy. Academy needs to hurry and catch up with other leaders in the retail industry if they desire to stay in business.

my experience in academy was not the best i went to purchase a fire arm and was met with complete animosity. With that being said i was unaware that the procedures and laws that come with applying for a firearm as a first time buyer im reaching because i felt that the employs of academy lacked genuine interest and awareness it takes to be a decent person or successful employ . now that i know and i am fully aware of the procedures I'm leaving this statement in hopes that it may reach out to the general public with the intentions of providing the guidance academy failed to give me .

It's was to standard the experience until, I noticed my bag set the anti-theft alarm off prior to exiting. I mentioned it to management. Management said, it's ok. He insisted on not disarming my bag. He didn't seem to understand. I knew I was ok. I knew I paid for it. I know most Americans ignore that noises these days. He didn't want to disarm the bag! He did not care that Most consumers still don't enjoy unnecessary loud noise implying they are a theft, that can be simply resolved! By swinging the bag near a device. 30 seconds of work results in a lifetime of better customer service satisfaction.

I travel approximately 1 hour to Eagle Pass to shop at Academy great store I have bought shoes, clothing, fishing gear,hunting gear and boat accessories Eagle Pass and surrounding areas are lucky and I think glad to have it A to Z at a fair price and the employees are good (tam bien)

I had never been treated the way I was treated today. I know the virus is a big concern and everyone is doing the best that they can to protect each other but when you have two kids and are by yourself companies or at least the manager in charged should help out some how.I was received by a nice gentleman at the door that stated it that only two members are allowed at the store. Now if you think about it, four people can go in at the same time if they just simply say they are not family members. I have two little ones and I told them I had travel just to come to this store and buy them shoes. He told me that I couldn’t come. He asked me if I wanted to talk to a manager. As soon as the manager by the name of Hector showed up he had a bad mood. He didn’t even let me explain what happen, he immediately told me you can’t come in. Only two members. Now, am wearing a mask, my kids are wearing a mask, there were at least 40 people inside the store walking around.Something should be done to try and help those who can’t or don’t have assistance with kids.I am very disappointed and sad that they couldn’t help me out. All I wanted was to get some shoes for school. Thank for not helping #ACADEMY.Not coming back ever. I will try to advocated and raise my concern as much as I can. That manager should take some classes on customer service.Worst service ever.

There have been several times that I have gone into the store and they have not had the item in stock that I was looking for. Over all the store is great especially for the small town that it is located in and usually has a terrific selection of merchandise. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

The store was clean and easy to navigate. Decent variety of athletic clothing, which is what I was shopping for. I wish there had been more sale/discounted items. One tank top I bought was on sale and I didn't know until I looked at my receipt as I was walking out the door. I would have bought more if I had known...

They said my academy gift card didn't have any money on it and tried to throw it away. Called the 188# had money on it. They also wouldn't let me run it through the card reader, they just kept typing in the number behind the counter.

Already knew what I had in mind to purchase but thought the lines would be horrendous. I actually walked in and got what I wanted, and several registers were open. You don't see thag anymore. There's always lines at every store you walk into.

4 stars because they finally got the ammo limit to a decent amount. I would give 5 stars but it still so hard to get a ffl transfer done there. you have to jump through hoops and then still pay the 40dllr transfer. But regardless there is some good guys at the gun bar and besides the ffl deal they really try and help you out with whatever you need.

I will shop at any other Academy there is except this one. Three times I went to purchase a shotgun and I was ignored all three times. Employees shouldn't profile their customers. Ended up taking my business to a locally owned gun store.
